Completely satisfied with the course, crowd is decent too.
Placements: This year, about 70% of the graduating class was placed on campus. The rest went on to higher studies, off-campus placements, or are preparing for the GATE Examination. Top recruiters included Vedanta, Jindal, Well Fargo, and Accenture. Internships were available from the third year.
Infrastructure: Facilities, such as Wi-Fi and LAN, are exceptional, and the classrooms in the mining department are just fine. The food in the mess hall is really good, especially when compared to the food in the first-year mess hall. Although the mess hall serves only vegetarian food, it is very good, even in comparison with non-vegetarian food. For medical facilities, we have the Health Care Center (HCC), and all the sports facilities are well-equipped.
Faculty: The difficulty level of this course is relatively low, but it requires good time management skills. If we procrastinate, we will find ourselves in a lot of trouble, as the course moves at a fast pace. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being easy and 10 being tough, the difficulty level of this course as 2 or 3.
Other: I chose this course because of the hill system in our depth, like the pros help you in every way possible and GATE is always a plus point.

A student life at NITK, Surathkal.
Placements: There are a lot of opportunities during campus placement at NITK, Surathkal. Top recruiting companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, DE Shaw, and Goldman Sachs often visit here. They hire for both software development as well as analyst and consultant roles. Top core companies also visit here. More than 90% of students got placement in my course. The lowest package was 8 LPA, and the highest package was 24 LPA by Wells Fargo. There are very less opportunities during internship season for mining students. The top role offered is analyst and consultant.
Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure. The old buildings are good but the new buildings are awesome. My department buildings are too old, so it is of decent level. Wi-Fi and other facilities are good. The hostel rooms are good. But the mess food is not so good. There are various sports and medical facilities.
Faculty: Most of the professors have Ph.D. from top IITs and foreign universities. However, their teaching methodologies are not so good. They are too much boring. Yes, it is relevant up to a level. Semester exams are not so difficult. You can easily get good grades even if you start reading one day before the exam. It is relatively grading so passing marks depend upon the subject.
Other: The college has a good NIRF ranking and average placement which is the main reason behind selecting this college.

College is good, I am satisfied which this college, campus life is awesome.
Placements: As, I am from mining department, there are 55 students approximately. ,43 people are placed till now in mining out, I don't know about the highest but about 12LPA is the average and one people has got 25 LPA also, in some software company. Axis bank, Sprinklr, axiphyl, HSBC, jio. Etc. Which are open for mining students, companies like Microsoft, amazon, flipkart, paytm. Also visit our college but they are not open for mining people. Roles are SDE, analytics, consultancy etc. In non core but in core you just need to crack GATE with rank under 100 you will get a government job, Internship are there in college but for top branches mostly, in mining only few get this, about 5-6 people will get this .
Infrastructure: First of all our department is one of the chilliest, you don't need to read this before just read 4-5 days before and you can easily get 9 GPA, you will be having more time, if you utilize that time nicely you would finish with some good off campus placement, as our one senior from mining department did this he cracked 1 crores package and 4-5 got about 40LPA + but you have to utilize that time nicely. All things in college are nice, wife, library, sports, etc. All things are good. For 1st year you will get kravali, aravalia and sahayadri hostel, just choose aravali (nonveg) and karavali (non veg) only because sahayadri (veg) is old and mess food is also not good all types of games are being played here, Wi-Fi is unlimited and available all over the college.
Faculty: In mining, many proff. Are good, some are somewhat average, you will not feel any difficulties yes, courses are according to curriculum and it makes the student industry ready, many industry tours are also there in our course for which you have to good most famous mine KGF which is very good to watch out. Exams are easy, 25 % mid sem, 50% end sem and rest 25% (quiz, presentation, assignments. Etc. ), 20 marks in each subject is passing.
Other: SEE I choose this because I got this according to rank and in mining best thing is that government job is easy to take and you will get more free time to enhance your skill which is very important for colleges student campus is big enough about 300 acres, we have private each which is only college to have it. And campus is very beautiful and college life is awesome fest are incident (cultural) and engineers (technical) are two fest in nitk and incident is the biggest in south india.

Yes, in off campus, you are allowed to and if you are in Tier 1 colleges then you can, depending upon the placement committee and companies visiting the campus.
