B.Tech. in Marine Engineering (Lateral Entry) 

at RL Institute of Nautical Sciences (RLINS), Madurai

Candidates with at least 55% marks overall in 3 year diploma in Marine / Mechanical / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or 4 years Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering from any Institute approved by AICTE or any State Board of Technical Education are eligible to apply. Minimum 50% marks in English in either 10th or 12th or Diploma Examination The candidate should have completed the diploma within its stipulated duration. For SC/ST candidates, Relaxation in: Age: Maximum age relaxation is for five (5) years. Marks: 5% relaxation in aggregate marks, which will not be applicable to English marks. Medical : Medical Examinations are conducted by Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) approved Doctors. Eye Sight: Distance vision (unaided 0.5 *(6/12) in each eye or 0.67*(6/9) in better eye and 0.33 *(6/18) in other eye; and No Color Blindness : Tested by Ishihara test chart. No Night Blindness. A Second Eye test will be conducted by institute's Ophthalmologist.
