IMU - Just a prison in which we have to survive.
Placements: To get admission in this course you should have a total of 60% in PCM. The top companies are - Mearsk, Feet, Synergy, Dock n Dale, Stenar Bulk and many more. In previous year, around 90-95% got placed in different speak companies whose payee is a lot.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is below average as the hostels are made of very low quality material and there is no Wi-Fi services available in the hostel and also no coolers are allowed, as swimming is a part of our course there is no swimming pool in the whole 300 acres campus.
Faculty: About faculty, it is the worst faculty have seen in my entire life. The all just they do is to provide the study material and about teaching they only just read the ppts or the PDFs. Some of the teachers are like they are not even able to solve our doubts.
Other: I chose this course because it is full of challenges and traveling and love traveling. The best things in my course is that we will be able to travel a lot of countries and we will get to have new opportunities and have new friends in our life to make it more amusing.

The college is a go-go for people seeking a career in the maritime sector.
Placements: More than 80% of our batch are placed in various Indian and multi-national companies. Companies like MOL, Fleet Management, DocknDale, TORM, and M.Sc., visited and recruited the students. The packages varied on a large scale depending upon the various companies but the aggregate was more or less the same.
Infrastructure: The college has very vast land and the infrastructure was recently established for the course. The college has 3 hostels with Wi-Fi and is non-airconditioned. The university has an excellent library with books helpful for the courses and examinations.
Faculty: Professors and teachers including the permanent and the guest faculty are knowledgeable and true to their job. They are helpful and qualified for their respective jobs. The course is relevant and makes the student's industry ready. Exams are quite difficult.

Absolute dissatisfied because of faculty. Okay infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: Our pastout seniors got 100% placement. Placements were good enough. The highest salary offered was 75000 average was 45000 ani the lowest was around 25000. Everyone got internship from the campus. There was no stipend offered for students. There is no placement cell.
Infrastructure: There are very goof facilities in our college. Wi-Fi, classrooms, libraty, swimming pool and etc. Classroom are good in condition. There are little less equipment in labs. We get average food quality in mess for students. Campus is too small ground is a bit far from college.
Faculty: There are very less faculty in college obviously they are helpful bt there are no sufficiency of staff members. Projector are used while teaching. Even on white bored. No we don't get industry exposure. Yes the ckurse curriculum was hsefull. Student teacher faculty ratio was less.
Other: There was fest called prayan. We use to get scholarship now it is closed.

Review of IMU Chennai Indian Maritime University (IMUC).
Placements: 90% placement in the last year and the rest 10% attempted for higher studies. The average package is as per the company. BW, Wilhelmsen, Stena, Maersk, Chevron, Mol Tankers, Adani, Torm Tankers, Foot Management, Stena, Dockndale, MOL, PIL, 7 Islands, Andromeda, and MSI are the top recruiters.
Infrastructure: Classroom are good with digital classes. Wi-Fi is available in the hostel. Good medical facilities are there. Food available is also good and is liked by all. All sports are available and grounds are fine. Ragging-free campus.
Faculty: Faculty is best. Good nature and understanding. Students are going in the right direction. Exams are same as others. But the passing percentage is 50%. Student have to gain 50 percentage marks both in internal and in theory to pass the semester exam.
Other: Placement and a good career made me choose this profession. Events are organized by seniors, but the faculty rarely organizes something. Sports events were organized by seniors.

Students also asked

Q:   Which has better placement at IMUC, B.Tech Marine engineering or B.Tech Naval and ocean engineering?

A:

IMUC offers a strong placement record for both its B.Tech Marine Engineering and B.Tech Naval and Ocean Engineering programs. But when it comes to placement, B.Tech Marine Engineering often performs marginally better than B.Tech Naval and Ocean Engineering. Greater Demand for Marine Engineers: Compared to naval architects and ocean engineers, marine engineers are more in demand in the maritime sector. This is due to the fact that there are more ships in use than there are navy ships and ocean constructions. Greater Opportunities: Marine engineers can find employment on a range of ships, including offshore vessels, cargo ships, cruise ships, and tankers. Ocean engineers and naval architects sometimes have fewer career options and are more specialised in their expertise.  The B.Tech Marine Engineering placement rate at IMUC has been approximately 95% on average in recent years, whereas the B.Tech Naval and Ocean Engineering placement rate has been approximately 90% on average. Furthermore, the starting salary for marine engineers at IMUC is normally approximately ?6 LPA, but the starting salary for naval architects and ocean engineers is typically around ?5.5 LPA.

A:

Most people agree that IMU Navi Mumbai is a superior university to IMU Chennai for B.Tech students. This is as a result of IMU Navi Mumbai's improved placement history, more contemporary campus, and greater academic reputation. Compared to IMU Chennai, IMU Navi Mumbai boasts a faculty with greater experience and a longer history of achievement. Because of its position in a significant port city, its students also have greater access to marine companies. Additionally, IMU Navi Mumbai boasts a more robust network of alumni, which aids in the employment success of its students. The campus of IMU Navi Mumbai is more up-to-date than that of IMU Chennai, and it provides a greater selection of extracurricular activities and amenities. All things considered, IMU Navi Mumbai is a superior university for B.Tech students seeking a modern campus environment, a robust academic program, and exceptional placement possibilities.
