Comprehensive review of S. A Engineering College affiliated with Anna University.
Placements: As for placements, 80 to 90% of students are being placed in top companies around Tamil Nadu. Top companies like Hyundai, Google, and Infosys are recruiting freshers from our college with packages ranging from 6 lakhs to 18 lakhs per annum. There aren't any internship options provided to students from the college side.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college includes a library and laboratories for each available course. There are 3 canteens: 2 for snacks and 1 for lunch. There is also a health center with resting beds and an available nurse and doctor in case of emergencies. The hostel facilities provided here are moderate, and the food isn't appreciably good, even after many complaints raised against the food quality; actions are yet to be taken. There are 2 volleyball courts, 1 tennis court, and 1 basketball court available.
Faculty: The teachers here are highly qualified and are mostly Ph.D. and doctorate holders. The quality of their teaching is wonderful, and they are known for maintaining discipline among students. The subjects provided in the first year are common subjects and only focus on strengthening the basics of engineering for the students. Only from the second year are students provided with course-related resources. So, it takes the student until the third year to become industry-ready. Semesters are created once 5 to 6 months from the previous semesters. The toughness of the exams is moderate, as the questions are set by Anna University. The pass percentage is 30 to 40%, which changes for each semester.

The college has good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Around 80% of the students are placed in L&T Infotech, Aon Hewitt, and Infosys KPO. The highest salary was five lakhs per annum, and the lowest salary was 1.5 lakhs per annum. The companies like Tech Mahindra, Aspire Systems, L&T Infotech, Zoho, Infosys, Elgi, Flex and much more visited the campus to hire the students. There are different roles offered to the students in the college. Around 60% of the student got an internship. The highest stipend was Rs. 10,000, and the lowest was Rs. 2,000.
Infrastructure: The college is having the Wi-Fi and the smart classrooms. The practical labs have the necessary components. The restrooms are maintained properly. The classrooms are cleaned at the end of the day on a daily basis. They are providing good food at the canteen. They have good and well-maintained hostel buildings. They have a good play zone area like a basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court and soccer court. The auditorium is good and enabled with A/C.
Faculty: The college had many PhD professors, and we have a good faculty to teach. The faculty members are friendly, and discipline should be maintained at the student's side. The faculty helps and guides the students through the projects well and good. They help the student to get copyrights for their student's project. The HODs of the departments are knowledgeable.

Average placement, good infrastructure and faculty, partially strict and value for money.
Placements: The placement rate is 50%. Various IT companies, BPO & marketing companies recruit students. The college brought in some big companies for campus interviews like Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, L&T Infotech, Zoho and many more. I got placed in Capgemini this year along with 62 other students. Also, I got LOI from Capgemini. If you know coding well then SAEC will give you some good opportunities to get placed. Even for the students with arrear, they will give a BPO job for sure. Last year(2016) overall placed students are 600 out of 800+ students.
Infrastructure: Most of the classrooms have smartboards and projectors. Infrastructure-wise, it is a very good college. There are differents blocks for each department. The labs are modernized. Separate UG, PG, and department libraries are available. There is a medical room with bed facility. I f you have an interest in sports then you can have good opportunities. Our basketball team recently went to a national level tournament and became the runner-up. The canteen is good and cheap but not many varieties of dishes are available.
Faculty: Faculties are well-trained. If there is no output from the faculty members, then they are fired. Minimum M.E. is required for being a faculty member. For each department, there are 4 P.hD. holders. They provide good guidance. Right from the lower level staff till the director, everyone is well-qualified. Evening coaching classes are there for students who score marks below 50(4pm-5pm). Xerox copies and notes in the form of mail are provided.
Other: Bus facility is available throughout the city and suburbs. The bus fee varies from 18-25k. The college fee for Anna University students is 50k. For the rest, it is 75k. There are no mess fees. Donation fee might be around 1-2 lakhs. The college is located near Poonamalle in Avadi-poonamalle road. It is located on the main road, so the bus facilities are available. The college is situated inside the city and so traveling is easy. It takes maximum half an hour to travel from the college to CMBT bus stand in a MTC bus.
