The Scottish Church College.

Placements: The college placements were good. Many companies came, and TCS was one of the top recruiting companies. Back support was primarily offered as the fresher's role. They were big and reputable companies offering good packages of around 3 Lacs per annum. Interviews were also conducted.

Infrastructure: Classrooms were big and spacious, with lots of rooms. Each classroom had big fans, one teacher's table, and plenty of chairs for students to sit down and write. The canteen was awesome. We used to have so much fun there while sipping a cup of chai. They also had a playroom.

Faculty: The best part were the courses and teachers. The faculty were hardworking enough to ensure the courses were taught properly. They had a slight Bengali accent, but they managed to use both English and Bengali to teach the students, which was commendable.

Other: Unlike other colleges, Scottish Church College faculty always took regular classes and they gave proper notes.

Scottish Church College is one of the most prestigious heritage colleges.

Placements: There is a placement cell in our college that manages placement-related issues. As a student of history, I focused on doing my master so I have little knowledge about placements. I can say that our college gives everything that a student needs during pursuing any course.

Infrastructure: There are hostel facilities in our college. The infrastructure is very good. All classes have smart class technology. Food in the canteen is also of good quality. College provides various sports competitions. Also during any medical emergency immediate treatment is provided.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. They always help students in solving doubts and try to solve any problem related to that subject. Semester exams are tough and scoring more than 6-7 CGPA will help u in master's and other fields. My course is not industry-related so can't tell you about that.

A really supportive faculty with a deep history of success in various time periods.

Placements: About the batch of 2020-2023, it had a total strength of 40+ students. While graduating, many of them were given the opportunity to delve into competitive examinations where preparations were given adequately while many pursued their own passions like that of music, etc. Infact, top recruiting companies like that of TCS and others arrived for campus placement for us. However, in the case of internship, it had a minimal percentage while others chose from outside the college premises. Most of them have an idea of pursuing history that the only path left is that of the competitive examinations. However, one can really become- 1. Blogger 2. Writer 3. Teacher 4. Government employee 5. Archivist 6. Compiler 7. Editor 8. Translator and Transcriptor And, etc.

Infrastructure: Classrooms, having the heritage of that of the British era, are spacious with adequate lighting and facilities of fan. While in the two boys hostel and one girls hostel, facilities of sanitation, drinking water(chilled) facility is available while games whether indoor or outdoor is available , just same as that of the boys and girls common room. However, the playground of the college is a bit far towards bagmari bridge.

Faculty: In the case of faculty, a supportive faculty of 4 professors and 1 Vice Principal is said to be promising that helps in the all round development of inquisitiveness and curiosity for knowledge, and in turn in studies. The syllabus which is following has a current touch with today's time. While it do helped us, the semester exams tends to be a challenge to exhibit our skills in creative but crisp writing where the pass percentage is to be 40% with attendance carried few marks upto 60%.

Other: However, the best thing that I liked while I chose the course is for the knowledge that we want to learn. That helps to not only arm ourselves around the present detrimental environment but to prepare ourselves to counter such. However, with the absence of the fest since 2019, one might find the college life to be bland. But one must keep in mind to get the advantages of the learning that is being imparted - for which we are having the adequate advantages like admissions in university like that of Jadavpur University or the University of Calcutta or Biswa Bharati University.

Scottish Church College is a place to learn a lot.

Placements: The college has an efficient placement cell. They established an office for placement purposes in our millennium building. The students who have any questions can go and meet the placement officer. There is a special session on placement during the admission counselling and also a placement seminar for the graduating students every year.

Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is absolutely amazing. It has amazing classrooms, most of which are smart class. The whole campus is enabled with the Wi-Fi facility, but only for educational purposes. The college also owns a field nearby, where the students are given facilities of different sports. Scottish Church College owns and maintains one of best library of Kolkata. It has a wide variety of books and journals and of sufficient quantity. It also owns some of the oldest, rarest, and costliest books ever. Scottish Church library is absolute heaven for the book lovers. The canteen is good. The hostel rooms are different in different hostels, and the college owns five hostels near to the campus.

Faculty: Scottish Church College provides the best what a college can provide, when it comes to faculty. Absolutely efficient teachers very beautifully make the students understand the study material. Mode of teaching in the college is English but sometimes Bengal translation are also done for the Bengal speaking students. Teachers take personal interest in the overall growth of the students which is not available in most of the colleges. Teachers provide regular notes for better understanding of the topic. The student teacher ratio is perfect and fit.

Other: Students' body of the college organises an annual fest called Caledonia. It is a 5-day long annual programme. The college on their part organise various events and competition, which is made known through college board, and it is not possible to mention all of it here. The college also arranges Christmas celebration and an annual retreat. Being a Christian college, the campus is free from rapid and regular student unrest. Scottish Church College has an amazing and healthy atmosphere.

A decent college for normal study.

Placements: There are no placements for B.A in history. There are no placements for our seniors also. The college does not provide internship too but if any student, they can try for the internship on their own and the stipend will not be provided. The students should search for the job on their own.

Infrastructure: As per the infrastructure, college is providing necessary facilities like sports games, library with good books. Good food in the canteen and food courts are available. The college provides hostel outside the campus, and the rooms are good. I did not face any infrastructure related issues.

Faculty: The faculty is good works with the good amount of knowledge. They believed more in learning and used a good related example to make understand things more practically. Industry exposure is not required, and the way of teaching is done there. The curriculum is quite useful as per the real-life world.
