Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology is a good and big college.
Placements: Around 70% of students will be placed every year based on the percentage scored in their exams. Most of the seniors are selected for Bosch and one of the seniors is selected for the armed forces we are proud to be here.
Infrastructure: Our college has different building blocks for each course, every single building has Wi-Fi facilities and an updated smart classroom with a green board. A separate building for our library, it has two floors which are good and big.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and have a good teaching quality they don't only make us learn what is there in the book they help us with everything related to studies. Life lessons are also taught by some teachers to lead our life. We have the best teachers.
Other: our college ranked 7 in Karnataka.

Placement officer of our college plays an important role in this college.
Placements: A few core companies visited our campus for recruitment. The average salary package offered was 3.8 LPA. A good number of companies visit here to recruit students from branches like computer science, electronics, biotechnology and similar branches. Opportunities available to the mechanical branch were low.
Infrastructure: Our college provides only the necessary facilities, and there is not any fancy or luxurious facility. Labs have the necessary equipment, and the library had most of the books which are needed for reference. The canteen served decent food at a reasonable price but was a little good compared to the canteens of other colleges. There are good grounds for sports.
Faculty: There was a combination of all kinds of lecturers. Some were experienced, professional and were very arrogant. Few of them had excellent knowledge but weren't very good at handling class and making it interesting. The syllabus of VTU was outdated.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty.
Placements: About 60% of the students are placed in Mechanical Branch. The highest package was 5 LPA and average package 2.5 LPA. Continental Automotive was the top core company that visited the college. No one got internship offer from Mechanical Branch. Design engineer was the top role offered in Mechanical engineering.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are not good, not every classroom has projector installed. Students have to relocate if the teacher wants to teach through the PPT. Library is not well maintained. Hostel and mess facilities are not upto the mark. Food was not that good and hostel rooms were average.
Faculty: Teachers were well qualified but teaching quality is below average. The course is relevant. If one has an interest in Mechanical then try for some top colleges in Bengaluru like BIT, MS Ramaiyah, PESIT, then take admission through COMEDK.
Other: I chose this course because it is an evergreen branch.

I am dissatisfied because of poor placements.
Placements: Placements in the last batch were very poor. Almost 20% of the students got placed last year. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA, the lowest salary package offered was 1.2 LPA, and the average salary package offered 2 LPA. The college does not provide internship to students. There is a placement cell for students, and it is pretty helpful.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is pretty average. Classrooms are very small with very less number for fans than required. Library and labs are properly maintained. The quality of the food served in the canteen is pretty good. Hostel rooms are the worst. I faced many problems with the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and quite knowledgeable. But they are partial to the localities, and north Indians have to face a lot of problems. They help you with projects and assignments. In my two years, I did not get an industry visit so far. Hence industrial exposure is null.

It is a bad college in terms of location, infrastructure and placements.
Placements: The college does not provide placements for core branches. Placements in our college are bad. Only for IT sector companies visit our campus for placements. Most of them are mass recruiters and offer the lowest salary package. There was a time when this college had better placement but not now.
Infrastructure: The college does not provide Wi-Fi facility. Labs and classrooms are bad. The library is the worst. Medical and sports and games facilities are also bad. The college canteen is more like a mess. The college does not provide canteen in the hostel. So the only option left is the college canteen that also closes at 4 pm. The college has a few buildings which are very old.
Faculty: Mechanical faculty members are the worst thing in the entire college. They are unprofessional. They don't know anything about the course curriculum. Their behaviour is bad with students. You can choose any other course but not mechanical in this college. They don't support students in doing a project.
Other: The only good thing about this college is its college fest which is organised for 2 days every year. Other than that this college doesn't support for any events or fest or extracurricular activities. Most of the teachers are demotivating.
