SMIT - True story of a final year student.
Placements: Most of the companies are related to software and sales. Very few core companies are coming for the placements. The placements are done along with other techno India colleges, as our college is lower on the list of techno India groups. So, our chance to click any placements gets lesser.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not good at all. Many of the practicals cannot be done due to the shortage of lab kits, and existing kits which are mostly damaged. Classes are good to see. Most of the popular books cannot find in the library. The canteen food is beyond description. The hostel rooms are okay. There are 24*7 water and electricity facilities available.
Faculty: Only 5 faculty members are present in the electrical department. Except for HOD, all teachers are of no use. Classes are not regular. You can hardly get a class in first half. Lab classes are not regular. In most of the semesters, the syllabus cannot be completed. Teachers are very helpful indeed, but they are not knowledgeable. Board-chalk method is used commonly, in very rare cases they teach you with PPT. There is no scope to cherish your knowledge with new things. All the things are going in a conventional process. As I mentioned earlier, there is no scope for industry exposure. The course curriculum is not very useful and especially in EE. You may take a chance in CSE for a slightly better experience, but if you are a jobholder in Diploma and all of you need is a degree, then you may take admission in this college.
Other: There is no scope for this college to achieve something bigger. Hardly you can get a job of 2 LPA in sales or software. If you are happy with it, then you are welcome. Otherwise, you should try other colleges.
