B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2025

Worst college, join if you want to spoil your life and get zero placements with 10 lakh waste.
Placements: This college has lost its placements in 2024. All local companies come here to give 2.5–3 LPA salaries, which even B.Sc. Statistics students get. The companies that come here with a higher package take only 1-2 people. For 2025 batch HCL placements, the college placement cell first set the criteria at 60%, then increased it to 70%, then to 80% and then to 85%. This was done to reduce the competition. The joke is that HCL is still not aware of this manipulation. Plus, in the years 2024–2025, not many companies came for placements. So this college is showing off-campus drives as placement drives. Example: Google is hiring all over India; the Sairam placement cell told me that Google is hiring at Sairam Campus XD. They did this for J.P. Morgan and Goldman as well. Don't believe them; only TCS comes here for placements. The other companies are very rare.
Infrastructure: There is no proper ventilation in classrooms. They haven't been painted in over 25 years. Otherwise, the campus has greenery and that is okay. You can find monkeys waiting to snatch your food at the canteen as well. Kindly feed them and acquire some good merit for your next life because studying at this college has already spoiled this life for you. Moreover, the food canteen occasionally has rates. You can get free rat-taste food cooked in rat-infested and rat-dead vessels at a high cost.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified enough, but they struggle to teach you basic concepts because the college is micromanaging them. They throw teachers into random subjects. I have seen my professors studying in their free time so that they can teach us. Sadly, the college assigns random subjects to them, which they might not even have seen. Teachers are good, but college management is extremely bad. Moreover, teachers are extremely underpaid. I feel sad for them. Moreover, the placement cell faculty in Arunachal is extremely egoistic. He often disqualifies students if there is any mistake in the form instead of asking them to correct it. Example: For Mu-Sigma placements in the 2024 batch, the form circulated by Arunachal contained a section named University. Now, what would people do? They would obviously fill Anna University. But useless Arunachal told me that it was supposed to be a registration number, which disqualified many students from attending this company. He is playing with the lives of many students because of his ego. He will definitely suffer one day for his songs. This is a course for many students, as he is a thug and plays with the lives of many students and their jobs. The TAP cell and Exam cell are also extremely selfish. Go learn from the placement cell of SSN College. You will have zero interaction and receive zero mentoring from the placement cell here.
Other: Zero campus life—no culture at all. Nothing; just come and go and waste 4 years. No enjoyment at all.

SAIRAM INSTITUTIONS - An organisation which emphasis societal change.
Placements: In the IT department, around 88 percent of the students are placed in my course, whereas the remaining have opted for higher studies. The highest package offered in IT is 18 LPA, and the lowest package is 3.35 LPA. The average stands between 4 to 6 LPA. Zoho, Cisco, IBM, Accenture, Embed Your, Mr. Cooper, and TCS are some of the top recruiters. Most students receive internships through the internship drive conducted by the IT department. MOUs are signed with various tech training companies to engage students in the internship program. Software Development Engineer (SDE), Junior Engineer, and Tech Support are some of the roles offered in IT.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are equipped with smart boards to elevate the process of learning. The SDGs are placed in every classroom to ensure they are registered in the students' minds. The hostel has decent infrastructure to accommodate all the students. Hostel students get access to various sports facilities in the evening, including badminton, basketball, table tennis, etc. We have special access to healthcare; the college has a medical branch where immediate first aid is provided. For further assistance, students will be taken to the nearby hospital in Tambaram. The hostel food is really good, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options provided.
Faculty: The teachers are equipped with the skills to train students for placement and help them out at any given time. The Department of IT provides a well-built curriculum to meet the demanding industrial needs. The exams are not difficult; they test the basic understanding of the subject. A night's study is usually enough to pass the exams, but maintaining a grade above 9.0 requires a lot of hard work.
Other: IT has a well-built curriculum and supportive staff to help achieve the dream of kickstarting a career in the IT industry. The curriculum might be further streamlined to an advanced level to increase the quality of engineers produced. The college has a habit of mapping every activity with the SDG action, which helps achieve SDG development. Various clubs are available in the college, but they must be revived by proper leaders. Government schemes are introduced to the organization to ensure everyone is aware of the available schemes (MyGov, UBA, NSS, etc.).

An above average college which has a decent infrastructure and good placements.
Placements: The placement is decent. Due to the recent recession in the IT industry, placements have been down for about a year now. However, in recent times, we can see that the placement scenario is returning to normal. Top companies that recruit here are Zoho, Accenture, TCS, etc. The package varies from company to company, but the average lies somewhere around 5 LPA. At the end of the day, it's the candidate's skills and technical expertise that can land them a job. The roles offered are mostly Trainee Software Engineer and Associate Software Engineer. At times, we can expect roles related to IoT, Embedded Systems, and Data Science.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good for almost all departments. As I belong to the IT department, I'm a bit more aware of it. There are three labs for our department, and all of them have updated, high-quality systems with good network connectivity. The classrooms are a tad old-school, as the college has existed for about 30 years. However, there have been considerable improvements in infrastructure from time to time. We can expect the infrastructure to get better as time progresses. The college has a massive stadium where several events take place. There are also air-conditioned halls where events are conducted. Overall, the infrastructure is above average. As I'm a day scholar, I'm not aware of the hostel facilities. As far as I've heard from the hostellers, the food is great, and the rules are a bit strict.
Faculty: The department faculty are mostly qualified doctorates in their respective fields, which in itself is a testimony to the quality of the staff that are there. The method of teaching is also interactive, where students get to take seminars on topics, encouraging students to get involved in classroom activities. As an IT student, my curriculum contains almost everything related to the IT industry, starting from programming basics to advanced recent technological advancements like Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence. The college also provides a variety of electives to choose from. The electives make us more proficient in the field we want to work in. The pass percentage is usually above 90%. As far as I've seen, students face a few difficulties in clearing the math papers. Other than that, it's not difficult to clear semester papers. The average CGPA is above 7, so that is not a concern.
Other: I chose my course for very obvious reasons. Irrespective of the course you take, you're going to end up in an IT company. So, I thought it was better to study IT and get into an IT company, which would give me a bit of a competitive edge. It's also easier to study IT in comparison to courses like Mech, ECE, and EEE. The college has a thriving professional community called the IEEE. It's optional for students to join. I've joined IEEE and have been a part of several events and had the opportunity to take up a few leadership roles. It was a good experience. Each department has its own yearly symposium.

Strong and reliable at placements.
Placements: As I am a third-year student, my seniors and super seniors have been placed in over 900 top companies with good LPA packages. Many of them have also secured internships at IIT, Cisco, and Microsoft. Zoho is one of the top recruiting companies, and they are in good positions.
Infrastructure: When it comes to the hostel, it is a peaceful place with good infrastructure, Wi-Fi facilities, a theater, and a gym. The food availability in the hostel is excellent and hygienic. There is also entertainment, and the hostel is encapsulated with good safety and maintenance.
Faculty: Faculty members do more than just teach. They also guide us to lead, face significant challenges, and grow both academically and personally. The courses are well-structured and include practical knowledge, making it easy for us to apply what we've learned after finishing college.
Other: I was chosen based on my interest because I am passionate about the field of networking and eager to expand my knowledge in it. Here, there are scholarships available for students from underprivileged backgrounds, and various events are organized to encourage them. Additionally, there are numerous extracurricular activities designed to boost and expand your knowledge in areas you are interested in. The management and faculty members fully support you in pursuing your interests.

Decent college to Study in with average placement and decent infrastructure .
Placements: In our previous batch, almost 60% of students were placed. The packages offered by the companies range from 4 LPA to 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course include Zoho, Accenture, Cisco, and TCS. In our curriculum, each student must complete at least 45 days of internship to get the degree. Until now, around 95% of students have secured internships. Top roles offered in our course are related to software trainee.
Infrastructure: In our Information Technology department, we have 3 labs. All are AC-ventilated with high-specification systems installed. We use high-speed Wi-Fi from Reliance as well as Airtel broadband. In our classrooms, we have a smart board where lectures are conducted and various activities are done. Sairam is best for food, and hostel students stay primarily for the food.
Faculty: Teachers are well-talented and knowledgeable. They guide students on projects. In our course curriculum, we study OS, DBMS, CAN, Cloud Computing, Cryptography, AI, ML, and so on. The course does prepare us to become industry-ready, but it depends on the student's skills to be ready for employment.
Other: I like Computer Science and wanted to pursue my career in this field. I'm learning the current technology in my curriculum itself. Apart from that, we also have vibrant cultural events and symposiums where students can showcase their individual talents.
