Review of Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi.
Placements: It is an excellent college. Our college has no placements. There are placement offers for students in other courses.
Infrastructure: Our college has a huge campus. The campus includes different blocks for students of science, arts, and commerce respectively. A library is available. Sports are good. There is cricket ground, football ground, basketball court, and a volleyball court.
Faculty: Our teachers are proficient at what they do but are restricted due to the upcoming education policy. The semester is very short. The syllabus is detailed and coherent. More optional subjects are added.

It is one of the best colleges.
Placements: Most students from commerce courses get placed but there are certain children from Science and humanities courses too. Make sure to sign up with the placement cell and also make an impressive resume. Other than that its best to not have unrealistic expectations from college placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite decent although in summers it gets a little tough since most classes don't have air conditioning. The sports infrastructure looks great, we have decent sized sports ground (keeping in mind its in south Delhi) and a basketball court adjoined by the tennis court.
Faculty: Faculty is extremely capable. Examination is line with the Delhi University structure which can be quite hectic. The course structure is also in line with the Du pattern so you'll find similar things pertaining to course in any other DU college but the faculty differs.

The Best DU South Campus college.
Placements: Data from the placement cell report 2022-2023 shows that: a) 242 total placement offers across courses, b) 452 total internship offers, c) the highest package of 2150000, and d) an average package of 658000. Talking specifically about Sociology Hons: out of the 452 total internship offers, 6 were given to B.A. Hons Sociology students. Out of the 242 total placement offers, 2 were given to B.A. Hons Sociology students. The median package is 600000. Top companies which offer positions include Reliance Digital, Dmart, and Croma. The posts offered are HR executive, market research analyst, school counselor, etc.
Infrastructure: Course infrastructure is extremely good with: a) Wi-Fi across the college, b) projectors in every classroom, and c) the library is air-conditioned and adequately large to accommodate students. The hostel has some drawbacks because: a) it lacks AC, and b) the food has flies and other quality issues, which lead to hostel students falling sick. Quality of mess: Compared to hostel food, the mess has much better quality. Medical facilities and sports: The college has a badminton court, 2 tennis courts, a basketball court, and a large ground for cricket and football. The medical room is a good facility too.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and completed the course two weeks before the exam. Sociology as a course is relevant because this discipline will only grow in the coming future. Semester exams are easy based on the PYQs of the last year, and the questions are straightforward. Almost all students pass the exam.
Other: I chose this course because I had an interest in sociology. The best thing about it is the versatile nature of this course; you could either pursue sociology further after its completion, do UPSC, or prepare for other government exams. The course is extremely good, I don't think I have a suggestion for the same. Various events are being organized; in the case of our course, we had sports meet, MN Srinivas Declamation contests, and an Annual Sociology Fest known as Conscience collectively. Meritorious students also get internship opportunities.

It is a good college to spend your three years of study.
Placements: The college had its placement society which was very much active. You can see daily updates of new internships almost every 2-3 days on their Facebook page. So you don't have to look for internships outside your college as you can easily find internships on their page. I know finding a good internship is very difficult in college as you don't know where to start, but because of their daily update of internships on their Facebook its easy. They also had an internship fair which happens once a year. The highest salary package offered was almost 4 LPA, which was great, because as compared to other colleges, it was providing good salary packages. Mostly internships offered in our course were from NGO or content writing, but it was not necessary as most of the internships were applicable to every course.
Infrastructure: The hostel was on the campus, which was just 5 minutes away, and it was good. But it was offered on first cum basis, so maybe one student or two or three maximum would be offered a room in the hostel which was also based on what marks you got in your 12th. Canteen was good. It was in an open area which was bad for summers, but good for winters. The food serves was good and the price charged was reasonable. Classrooms were average, and you can't expect much like ace classrooms, but they were in a good and clean environment. College does provide Wi-Fi, but it only works in the foyer.
Faculty: In our course, the teachers were good. They were not so strict. Our college is one of the top colleges to study sociology. Teachers were also helpful, and they were also very engaging. They also conduct many seminars and even sociology fests which were great. Some of the teachers even provide notes so that you can easily study rather than spending hours on books.
Other: I opted for this course because I like sociology. I chose this college because it was one of the good colleges that were offering sociology as the other colleges were girls college. The fests held are the best. Every year they invite singers. In our first year, Sunidhi Chauhan was invited, and there was no pass system for the event, which was great. The campus crowd was mixed up. There were some smart students. But the dance society was one of top dance societies.

Dynamic crowd and excellent academics.
Placements: The college is known for its high-salaried packages from various renowned companies. The highest salary package goes up to Rs.16 Lacs and average salary of Rs.8 Lacs. Many big MNCs come for placements like WIPRO, KGMC, Deloitte etc. They pick the best of all students who get placed in the procedure. This is very good opportunity for students to get placement straight away after college. The placement cell organises Internship fair annually which gives the students the opportunity to gain work experience. Tier 1 companies like American express and Mckenzie offer placements to students. Companies like Uber provides internships. Its stipend is around 10,000-15,000. The placement cell is very efficient for students as it widens the opportunities for the students and exposes them to various companies that recruit them.
Infrastructure: The college has fully air conditioned labs and fully computerised library which functions on the basis of open access system. It offers many journals, newspapers and access to e-journals. The medical room is located in the Science block of the college ans is well equipped with all the necessary aids. Branch of Andhra Pradesh bank is situated within college premises providing banking facilities to all. Hostel is adjacent to the college campus and is strictly regulated. The rooms are also clean and hygienic and full four time meals are provided by the mess. The campus has great Wi-Fi connectivity and speed. The college canteen offers variety of dishes which are undoubtedly good. It specialises in south indian food, dosa being finger licking good. Its also a place of interaction and socialisation for students as well as teachers.
Faculty: The teachers of all the departments are well qualified and experienced. They take regular assessments of students and make their teaching sessions interactive with the use of many techniques like smart class. Diverse interesting courses with a lot to explore time in amd time out. Different electives are also offered and focus is mainly laid on practical learning. There is a lot of exposure as the faculty take the students on field trips and excursions which help the students to understand their subject in a better way and to increase their practical knowledge. The teachers try their level best to bring out the best in the students and never fail to clarify the doubts of the studnets. Each student is given equal attention.
Other: Events celebrated in Venky includes- Fresher's and farewell party- official and unofficial both. College and university elections are around the mid semester. Nexus is the much awaited annual fest of Venky which was a grand success this year also, Armaan Malik being the highlight of the event. The whole event is managed by the fine arts association of the college. Apart from this there are annual sports fests also and each department has its own fest too. The college has a good playground and hangout spots like rock garden, front lawn etc. The college has a vibrant crowd as it brings together studnets of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Societies are active throughout the year and include dance, fine arts, music etc. The verve dance crew and nrityangana also brought glories to the college by winning in many fests this year. The students can join any society they wish to by giving their auditions. The society helps the studnets to enhance their respective skills and gives them the much needed exposure.

I think JMC is better in terms of faculty and infrastructure. it's more reputed and has better facilities than Venky.
