Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

A Comprehensive Review of TCET.
Placements: The overall student placement last year was 85%. The companies offered a minimum of 3 LPA and a maximum of 20 LPA. On our campus, Accenture, Infosys, Oracle, Capgemini, Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, etc., are some of the companies that visit. Also, at TCET, every student gets an internship at companies like Flipkart, Blackcurrant, Saint-Gobain, and Hyperverge.
Infrastructure: The Thakur College of Engineering and Technology is known for its infrastructure and campus. The infrastructure of TCET is fabulous. In every classroom, there are comfortable chairs, air conditioning, and projectors. The lab also has advanced versions of software installed on PCs.
Faculty: The faculty of TCET is highly educated and qualified. They have completed M.Tech, M.Sc., and many more have completed Ph.D. The faculty also helps students with projects. They give students real-life projects to prepare for the industry. Their teaching methods can range from traditional lectures to more interactive approaches, including hands-on labs, projects, and case studies.
Other: I am from the Information Technology department. I want to become a software engineer; therefore, I chose this field. In our college, there are many fests organized. In September, they organized Zephyr Fest; in February, they organized TSpark, which is a sports fest; and in April, they organized Sojourn. They also celebrate Bollywood Day, Traditional Day, Garba, and many more.

TCET : Excellent infrastructure, good staff, and placement needs to be improved.
Placements: Accenture, Oracle, and Zycus are major recruiting companies. Few students are placed at JP Morgan. The average package offered is around 5 LPA, the highest package offered is around 15 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 3 LPA. Students opting for off-campus placement usually grab higher packages.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms, library and labs have air conditioning. There is a sick room, a spacious auditorium, and seminar halls. In the hostel, air conditioning, a geyser, washing machines, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a lift are available. There is no mess facility in hostel and you need to pay your electricity bill.
Faculty: All the teachers are well-educated. Students can clear their doubts in the classroom, staffroom or through WhatsApp. As TCET is an autonomous college, exams are quite easy. You can easily score very good marks if you study for one week before exams.
Other: There are many fests and extra curricular activities in TCET, like Zephyr, Sojourn, Fiesta (for first-year students), Hackanova, T park (sports) etc. Clubs : ISTE ( Indian Society For Technical Education), Green Club, TCAP (Photography), Rotaract club, open source, GFG ( Geeks For Geeks), MUN (Model United Nation) and many more.

Insights into College Life: Academics, Facilities, and Opportunities.
Placements: The placement scenario at my college is moderate, with students typically becoming eligible from the seventh semester onwards. Companies like Infosys, TCS, and Accenture visit, offering roles in IT and software development, with an average package of around 3.5-4.5 Lacs per annum and the highest package reaching up to 8 Lacs per annum. Around 60-70% of students secure placements annually. For those not opting for campus placements, I plan to enhance my skills through certification and internships to improve my employability in the competitive job market post-graduation.
Infrastructure: For my course, the college offers modern facilities including Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, classrooms, and a comprehensive library. Hostel facilities include basic amenities, average food quality in the mess and canteen, limited medical support, and adequate provisions for sports and games.
Faculty: The faculty are knowledgeable and supportive, enhancing teaching quality. The curriculum is relevant, preparing students well for industry roles. Semester exams are moderately challenging, with a pass percentage generally high due to effective teaching and preparation.
Other: I chose this course for its strong alignment with industry trends and career prospects in technology. The best aspects include hands-on learning through labs and projects, along with dedicated faculty who support our academic journey. However, I believe there's room for improvement in enhancing industry partnerships for more practical exposure. Campus life is vibrant with events like Multicon and Zephyr fostering a lively atmosphere. The crowd is diverse and engaged, with good connectivity and nearby facilities contributing to a conducive learning environment. Overall, the college provides ample opportunities in extracurricular activities, scholarships, and community engagement, enriching the overall educational experience.

ALL About Thakur College of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: I am still a first-year student and I have little information about the percentage of students getting placed. However maximum students were placed from IT, CSE, and AIML branches. The highest package was of 40 LPA and was offered by JP Morgan and the lowest package was of 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is top notch which includes a top-class library, classrooms, Seminar Hall, Auditorium and reading rooms. The hostel is provided by the college and is of 3 types depending on the price range. The hostel is not on the college campus, it is a little far from the college which is within walking distance. Mess is not included in the hostel facility.
Faculty: Maximum teachers are PHDs in their respective subjects and some of them are pursuing their PhDs. The subjects are common for all the students in 1st Year of Engineering, and from 2nd year respective core subjects are added in the respective subject. College exams are medium-level and are conducted after every 3-4 months.
Other: I am currently pursuing IT Engineering and I was allotted this course through MHT CET.

Good faculty members, good placements, everything is good if you're going to work hard.
Placements: From the IT department, 53% of students were successfully placed. The highest CTC offered was 14 LPA, while the lowest stood at 3.5 LPA. The average package offered was around 7 LPA, demonstrating a healthy recruitment scenario for our batch. Top recruiting companies included JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC), IDFC Bank, and Accenture. These firms were prominent in hiring for roles such as Software Engineer (SWE) and Developer, which were among the top roles offered to our course graduates. These positions required strong technical skills, including proficiency in programming languages, problem-solving capabilities, and an understanding of the software development lifecycle. Regarding internships, approximately 65% of students secured internships, which were pivotal in gaining real-world experience and enhancing employability. Notable companies providing internships included JPMC, Accenture, and several leading tech startups. These internships often led to pre-placement offers (PPOs), further boosting the students' chances of securing full-time positions post-graduation. The curriculum design, emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, played a crucial role in preparing students for the competitive job market. The combination of coursework, projects, and internships ensured that students were well-equipped to meet industry standards and expectations.
Infrastructure: Our course and department were well-equipped with modern facilities and infrastructure. The campus provided high-speed Wi-Fi access throughout, ensuring that students could stay connected and access online resources at any time. The labs were state-of-the-art, furnished with the latest technology and software required for various practical assignments and projects. Classrooms were spacious and well-ventilated, equipped with audio-visual aids to enhance the learning experience. The library was extensive, offering a vast collection of books, journals, and digital resources, making it an invaluable resource for both academic and research purposes. Regarding accommodation, the hostel facilities primarily provided lodging without meal services. However, there was a wide variety of private accommodation (PGs) available around the campus, catering to different preferences and budgets. These PGs often included amenities such as meals, Wi-Fi, and laundry services, making them a popular choice among students. The quality of food in the nearby messes and canteens varied, with many offering a range of cuisines to suit diverse tastes. The food quality was generally good, providing nutritious and affordable meal options for students. Medical facilities on campus were adequate.
Faculty: Our course was supported by a team of highly qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful teachers. Most faculty members were approachable and willing to assist students outside of class hours, although a few were more lecture-heavy. Overall, the teaching quality was commendable, with instructors demonstrating a deep understanding of their subjects and a genuine interest in student success. The course curriculum was well-designed and relevant to current industry standards. It included a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, ensuring that students were well-prepared for the professional world. Coursework and projects emphasized real-world applications, making students industry-ready by the time they graduated. Additionally, the inclusion of internships as part of the curriculum further enhanced students' readiness for the job market. Semester exams at our college were manageable, with a reasonable level of difficulty. They were designed to test understanding and application of concepts rather than rote memorization. The pass percentage was impressively high, around 98%, indicating that most students were able to successfully meet the academic requirements. This high pass rate reflected the supportive learning environment.
