B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2024

The 2020-2024 Review of VJTI Civil.
Placements: In my course, some students were interested in placements, whereas some of them went for higher studies. The companies that offered us were Lodha, Axella, LnT, K. Raheja, Technimont, etc. The highest package in our course was 14 LPA and the average package was 5 LPA. Considering the students who sat for placements, the placement percentage was roughly around 80-85 percent. It’s compulsory to do an internship of at least 6 weeks in the summer break of our third year. Various internship offers are available from our faculty members in companies like CIDCO, Coastal Roads Project, KPM Engineering, etc. as a site executive. However, these internship offers are unpaid. For paid internship offers, you can try for off-campus opportunities.
Infrastructure: As the college is one of the oldest colleges in Maharashtra, the infrastructure is not to the point. However, multiple renovation works have started in the college to improve the infrastructure. The classrooms are huge and air-conditioned with modern technological equipment like Samsung screens and projectors. The hostels are very clean and spacious. These hostels are very affordable; however, they have quite limited seats.
Faculty: The college is autonomous and the curriculum is up-to-date. The teachers are very friendly and helpful. They are always available when you have any doubt or issue. The semester exams are a bit easier as the faculty members set the paper themselves, so we are well-acquainted with the syllabus. There are hardly 2-3 students in a batch who fail in a subject. The cases of year drops are very low.
Other: VJTI is one of the most reputed colleges. The curriculum VJTI had for my course is comparatively better than other colleges. The best part about our course was we were given a chance to carry out the work practically by visiting sites, etc. One thing I would like to change about this course is the strict attendance nature, which was not much seen in other courses of our college.

VJTI- honest review with all the pros and cons.
Placements: 71 percent of students were placed this year from the textile branch, with the highest package being 18 LPA (by Trident groups) and the average package being 8.16 LPA. VJTI being in Mumbai, it's a core attraction for all the companies; every year, more than 350 companies visit campus for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in some parts of the college still needs improvement. Especially in the mechanical building where we've got to climb stars on the 3rd floor to get to the classroom. The quality of the food at the mess is quite decent, though sometimes the afternoon lunch veggie can be repetitive. The food at the canteen is very decent. There's a clinic available inside the campus. There are two grounds, one for cricket and the other for football; additionally, there's a basketball court too.
Faculty: The teachers here have many years of experience and they're well qualified. The teaching quality of some teachers is so good; they teach everything from the basics and gradually increase the level; they give time-to-time assignment questions for revision and practice, which helps a lot. I'm yet to give my MST, which is supposed to begin on November 18, but by analyzing the previous year papers, one can say that the difficulty level was above moderate.

Do not take admission in this college.
Placements: About 70% of students were placed, and the placement percentage depended on the branch of study. The lowest salary package was 6 LPA, the highest was 36 LPA, and the average was 15 LPA. Only 4 or 5 companies recruited for my course, and most students were placed in software-based companies like Texas Instruments. Technical roles were offered mostly for B.Tech courses, but sometimes management roles were available.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for the course/department, such as Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library, are very poor. The quality of the facilities in the hostel, the quality of the food available in the mess and canteen, the medical facilities, and the sports and games are all very poor.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, but most of them had poor knowledge of the subject matter. The syllabus was outdated, but the students were industry-ready due to their own hard work and persistence. The placement rate was good, but the papers for some subjects were very difficult and application-based. Only two or three subjects had faculty with PhD degrees; the others were not qualified. The pass percentage was 40%.

The rate of return of this college is great.
Placements: Placements are pretty good compared to other colleges. The average package is around 11-12 LPA. Good percentage of students get internships. The highest package last year was 62 lakh and last year it was around 54 lakhs. Top recruiters are Google and Microsoft.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are fine, except for electrical and electronic. Other branches have very good classrooms and wifi is there in every classroom. Sports and games are not taken that seriously in college. The canteen is good and the food is also affordable. Infrastructure is fine.
Faculty: Exams here are tough as compared to other colleges. Faculty is highly qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. Curriculum is great for making students ready for industry. Semester exams are difficult and the pass percentage is 40 out of 100.

Absolutely Satisfied Because of Faculty, Average Infrastructure, Good Placement, etc.
Placements: The placement at the college is very good. Almost all students are placed in various companies. The placement rate for the electrical department last year was 95%. Top companies include Texus, Schneider Electric, and others. The highest package in the electrical department is 29 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the department is average, and it is a work in progress. Wi-Fi and fans are available in all classrooms, and some classrooms also have digital boards. However, the hostel (D Block) is in poor condition, with infrastructure needing improvement. Quality food is available in the mess and canteen.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are very good and helpful in addressing difficulties. There are highly qualified faculty, and the non-teaching staff is also supportive. This course provides an understanding of how ecosystems work. Each semester has two exams: a mid-semester and an end-semester exam.
Other: Campus life is enjoyable, with many events organized by college clubs.
