VJTI is a dream college for every engineering student.
Placements: One of the best placement cells in Mumbai. With almost 70% of the total batch placed in March, VJTI led the placements in Mumbai after IIT Bombay. The average package was 11 LPA and the highest package offered was around 57 LPA from a US-based software company.
Infrastructure: The hostels are really good. New hostels built this year have excellent facilities. However, old hostels are a bit undermaintained, but they are going to get renovations in a couple of years. Talking about the course, mechanical engineering is well taught and updated regularly.
Faculty: Faculty members at VJTI are the best. You won't find any of the faculty with a doctorate. Also, the faculty members won't be repeated for different courses. So the faculty members at VJTI are one of the best things here. The semester exams are more difficult when you compare them with Mumbai University.

VJTI Mumbai: A student’s perspective.
Placements: Top companies visit the college every year and around 80% of the students get placed, the rest 20% are the students who opt for further studies. The highest package offered in this course was 13.6 LPA and all the students get internship every year. Top role offered was GET in major fields.
Infrastructure: College has a very good infrastructure, however, the infrastructure is now old and there are efforts being put to renovate the college. Labs are a bit outdated, but the college is bringing in new facilities. The hostels are also undergoing changes and the new PG hostel has super good facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members are top notch at VJTI, who are easy to approach and are always ready to help. Curriculum is designed to have a work life balance and many courses are designed with the help of industry professionals. Semester exams are easy and straightforward. They are designed keeping in mind the growth of the students rather than focusing on book learning.

Overall, it is a good college with low fees.
Placements: The placements are above average as far as mechanical trade is considered, but there are 100% placements for IT students. Nowadays, it is hard for mechanical students to get core jobs. Nonetheless, Tata Motors also recruits most of the students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is above average as it is a government college. This is one of the best colleges in Maharashtra. The department has better quality facilities. The other facilities are also very good. I have enjoyed my 4 years here.
Faculty: The faculty play a key role in your success. The faculty of VJTI College are marvelous. They all do support you. They provide good notes. The minimum passing marks are 40%. The exam level is moderate to difficult. If you really want to pursue engineering, then I recommend VJTI.

Good at placements and average in facilities. Hostel facilities are not that good.
Placements: My course is B.Tech Mechanical. Approximately 90 per cent of students got placed from the batch. Many of them got jobs in various fields other than mechanical. Recruiters for the batch are Larsen & Toubro, Schindler, Reliance, TATA, Deloitte, PWC, Siemens, Axis Bank.
Infrastructure: Classroom facilities are average. The new library is good. Computer labs are good. Wi-Fi is available but it's slow. Food in canteen better than a mess. Two playgrounds are there for football and cricket, one basketball court, one auditorium and ordinary infrastructure.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified but need to upgrade their teaching skills. The course curriculum is good but needs to implement in a better way. Semester examinations are somewhat tough and need regular study for achieving good marks. Some subjects need to do self-study. Teachers don't put effort into teaching software skills.

The college has excellent faculty, facilities and great placement records.
Placements: Based on the academic year 2020-21 situation, due to the pandemic, the placement drives for non-circuit branches like civil, mechanical, production and textile got affected a lot. On average, 50% of students who enrolled for the placement drives were placed from the mechanical department. The highest package offered was around 15 LPA for mechanical. Major recruiting companies were L&T, Godrej, Capgemini, Mahindra etc.
Infrastructure: We have a library and smart classrooms with projectors and good ventilation. The quality of facilities in the hostel is very good, and the food facilities are also good. Proper hygiene is maintained. We have excellent sports and games facilities.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good. The curriculum designed for our course is very relevant to the industry needs. Semester exams range from moderate to difficult level, and accordingly, the pass percentage will change.
