BITSAT Eligibility Criteria 2022 has been released online by the BITS Pilani along with the information brochure. Students must check the eligibility criteria of the exam before filling out the application form. The eligibility criteria of BITSAT 2022 include the terms and conditions that students must satisfy to appear in the admission test. As per the BITSAT eligibility criteria, candidates must qualify for class 12 or equivalent exams from a recognised board/university. Details

Age Limit

There is no minimum or a maximum age limit to apply for BITSAT. However, candidates who passed the Class 12 board exam before 2021 are not eligible to appear for the exam.

Educational Qualification

Candidate must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board or university. Class 12 appearing candidates can also apply.

Year of Passing Qualifying Exam

Candidate must have passed class 12 or equivalent exam in 2021 or 2022

Mandatory Subjects

Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (Biology for BPharma course)

Aggregate Marks

Minimum 75% in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Additional Requirement

Adequate proficiency in English

Campus Students

Candidates already studying at any of the BITS campuses are not eligible to appear for BITSAT 2022

BITSAT eligibility criteria 2022 for admission of Board Toppers

There is also a provision of direct admission to BITS Pilani and its different campuses for class 12 board toppers. According to the BITSAT eligibility criteria, candidates who secure first ranks in the respective board exams of class 12 do not require to appear for the entrance test. Such candidates are allowed for direct admission to the institute provided that they also comply with other requirements under the eligibility criteria 2022.

Q:   What are the eligibility criteria for BITSAT?

A:
BITSAT Eligibility Criteria: For admission to Bachelor programme: The candidates should have passed the class 12th examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English . Should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75 percent marks in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics subjects with at least 60 percent marks in each of the Physics Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. For admission to B.Pharma (Hons): Should have passed the class 10+2 examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with the following subjects: Physics Chemistry and Biology. Students must have adequate proficiency in English . However, students with PCMB in Class 10+2 can also apply for the Pharmacy programme at BITS campuses. The students should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 75 percent marks in Physics Chemistry and Biology subjects with at least 60 percent marks in each of the Physics Chemistry and Biology subjects. Q:   I am not satisfied with my BITSAT seat allotment. What should I do?

A:

In case the candidates are not satisfied with their BITSAT seat allotment, then they can choose to forgo their seats and remain on the wait list. Candidates who are on the wait list can participate in the next round of BITSAT counselling to have a chance of being allotted into their preferred course and campus. In case there are vacant seats, the candidates will have the chance of being allotted into their preferences. Confirmation of admission can be done by verifying the documents and paying the required fee.

Q:   I have applied for both sessions of BITSAT. Can I access the BITSAT slot booking facility again during the second session?

A:

Yes. Candidates who apply for both sessions of BITSAT will be able to access the slot booking facility separately for each session. Through the BITSAT slot booking process, the candidates will be able to book their preferred examination date and time as per the availability. BITSAT exam centre will be allotted as per the candidate's preference submitted in the application form. The available slots as per the allotted exam centre will be displayed and the candidates will have to select their preference.

According to the official BITSAT eligibility criteria, there is no specific age criteria for the candidates to participate in the BITSAT admission process. However, the candidates should have completed their 12th standard qualifying examination in 2024 or 2025. The candidates who have passed 12th standard in 2022 and earlier will not be eligible for BITSAT 2025. The candidates are advised to check the BITSAT eligibility criteria carefully before registering for the entrance examination.

Q:   I have taken Physics Chemistry and Biology in 10+2. Am I Eligible to Apply for BITSAT?

A:

Yes. The candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology for their 10+2th standard qualifying examination will be eligible to apply for BITSAT. However, these candidates will only be eligible for B.Pharma admissions. Since BTech/BE admissions require Mathematics as a compulsory subject, the candidates who have opted for Biology in their 10+2th standard examination will not be able to apply for the engineering entrance examination.

Q:   Are there any scholarship opportunities available for BITSAT candidates?

Hi there! Good news for BITSAT candidates! Yes, BITS Pilani provides scholarship opportunities to deserving students based on their academic performance and financial status. The scholarship policy may vary depending on the level of study and the course. International students who score a minimum CGPA of 8.0 are eligible for an 80% waiver in tuition fees. Moreover, students who secure the first rank in their respective board examinations are eligible for direct admission.

Q:   What after BITSAT seat allotment?

A:

The allotted candidates will have to confirm their BITSAT seat allotment by reporting to their respective campus before the final date. The confirmation of admission can be done by verifying the documents and paying the required fee. If the candidates are unablel to confirm their admission before the final date, then their candidature will be cancelled. Candidates who are unsatisfied with their allotment can opt to participate in the next round of counselling. 

Q:   What are the other exams a candidate can appear for to take admission in any of the four campuses of BITs other than BITSAT?

A:

BITS Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa campuses offer admissions based on BITSAT scores. There is no other examination that the candidates can appear for to get B.Tech admissions into the participating four campuses. It is essential for the candidates to register, attempt and qualify BITSAT if they wish to study under BITS. However, direct admissions are provided to the board exam toppers. These candidates should have ranked at the top of the board exams and should meet the minimum eligibility criteria specified by the authorities.

A. A candidate is allowed to appear twice for BITSAT, provided that it happens in alternate years.
