Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. Q:   Who is eligible for GATE exam?

A:

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is the entrance exam for admission to postgraduate courses at IITs, NITs, IIITs in Engineering, Science and other allied subjects. The detailed eligibility criteria of GATE are given below:

  • Candidates who are currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree programme or who have completed any government approved degree programme in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/ Architecture/ Humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2024.
  • Candidates who possess certification from any of the below list professional societies are also eligible to apply for GATE however, they must ensure that those examinations are approved by MoE/AICTE/UGC/ UPSC as being equivalent to B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch./ B.Planning, etc. 
    • The Institution of Engineers (India) (IE)
    • The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
    • The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE)

Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring for vacancies in Power Grid have to fulfil certain eligibility parameters. The details have been listed below for the benefit of all applicants.

Valid Score in the GATE 2022

Candidates should have appeared and qualified in the respective paper of GATE 2022 as shown in the following table. The qualifying marks as declared by the GATE 2022 organising body shall be considered.

Q:   What is the minimum eligibility criteria of IIT Delhi MDes programme?

A:

For IIT Delhi M.Des admission, candidates must have passed BE/ BTech/ BDes/ BArch or equivalent degree in a relevant field with a CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate. Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, candidates are also required to appear for the CEED entrance test.

Q:   Who can give GATE exam?

A:

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for admission to Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Technology (MTech), and direct PhD programs in engineering, architecture, and related branches of science.

The eligibility criteria for GATE include passing a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology or basic Science from a recognised university, and meeting the specific eligibility criteria for the discipline you wish to pursue. Candidates from India and other countries can apply for GATE, but they must meet the eligibility criteria. The exam is conducted online and is offered in 30 subjects. Q:   Can you do MTech from IIT Delhi?

A:

Yes, an MTech course is available at IIT Delhi. It is one of the popular programmes offered by the institute. The duration of this PG-level course is two years and it is divided into four semesters. Admission to IIT Delhi MTech courses is done on the basis of merit in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam score. Candidates with a score equal to or more than the cutoff also have to go through a counselling round. 

Q:   Who is eligible for IIT Delhi MSc course?

A:

Candidates applying to a MSc course in IIT Delhi must fulfil the required eligibility criteria. Thus, aspirant must hold a valid bachelor's degree in a relevant stream for at least two years (four semesters) and a minimum aggregate between 55% and 80% or 5.5 CGPA out of 10.

For MSc cognitive science/economic courses, the accepted degrees are BA/BSc/BCom/BTech/BE/BStat/BMath or equivalent. The total course fee for MSc course is ranges between INR 30K and INR 3 lakh.

 

Q:   Can I do MBA from IIT Delhi without CAT?

A:

No, the institute offers admission based on CAT scores. Candidates seeking admission to IIT Delhi MBA course must apply online for CAT. IIT Delhi MBA admission is based on candidates' performance in the CAT entrance test, followed by a GD & PI round. Apart from this, candidates are also required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for IIT Delhi MBA admission. To be eligible for MBA admission at IIT Delhi, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent of a minimum of three-years duration after Class 12 with a CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate.

Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2022: Application Process

Step-1: Registration and Filling of PGCIL Application Form

  • The candidates need to register for the PGCIL recruitment through GATE by filling in their personal and academic details along with the GATE 2022 registration number.
  • All information provided should match with the details submitted in the GATE 20120 application form.
  • Candidates will need to upload certain documents as per the required specifications.
  • A unique registration number will be generated after the submission of the application form for Power Grid recruitment.
  • An email will also be sent on the candidate’s registered mail id to download their filled-in application form.

  • Recent colour passport size photograph (Maximum Size – 50 KB, Format – JPG)

Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2022: Selection Process

  • The selection process will consist of marks obtained (out of 100) by a candidate in the relevant paper of GATE 2022, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
  • Eligible candidates must have qualified the corresponding paper of GATE 2022 with a good score.
  • Candidates will be short-listed category-wise for Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI) based on their normalised marks out of 100 in GATE 2022.
  • Shortlisted candidates shall be able to download their interview call letter and other relevant documents after logging into the official website.
  • Shortlisted candidates for GD and PI will be required to bring the documents as mentioned in their interview call letter.

Candidates must qualify in the Personal Interview to be considered for empanelment. The qualifying % in the interview for different categories are as mentioned below:

PGCIL Recruitment through GATE 2022: Compensation Package

The PGCIL offers one of the best packages in the Industry. Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs 40,000/- 3% - 1,40,000/- (IDA) during the one-year training period. During their period, they will be paid a stipend in the form of Basic Pay of Rs 40,000/- along with IDA, HRA, and Perks @12% of basic pay.

On successful completion of training, the candidates will be absorbed as Engineers in the E2 scale - Rs. 50,000/- 3% - 1, 60,000/- (IDA).
