A student's review of Computer Engineering at VIT, Mumbai.
Placements: The placements are decent ad VIT. On average, around 85% students get placed every year. The highest package offered was 37.5 LPA and average package is around 3.5–4 LPA. top recruiting companies are Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini and others. 70% students got internship with notable companies. The top roles offered were Software developer, Data Analyst, System Engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is one of the best in the city. The classrooms are equipped with lecture capture systems and smartboards, and the labs are equipped with high-end computers with the latest software, etc. for coding and development. The Wi-Fi network is available all over the campus. The library is well stocked with all types of reference materials for every course.
Faculty: The Computer Department faculty members at VIT are highly qualified, experts in their field, and very supportive. The curriculum is well structured with the latest industry standards and real-life applications. The semester exams are moderately challenging and designed to test both the theoretical and practical knowledge of the student. The pass percentage is generally high, around 90–95%, reflecting effective teaching methods.
Other: Choosing VIT was driven by my passion for technology and the good reputation of the college. The best things about the course are the experienced faculty members and the good curriculum. More industry collaboration and practical exposure could be some improvement. The campus is vibrant with many extracurricular activities, like the annual events VERVE and Techfest. Transport connectivity is also easily accessible. Scholarships are also available for needy students. There are technical clubs like CESA-VIT and CSI-VIT in the Computer Engineering Department.

One of the best colleges, very good placements, and very good and well-maintained infrastructure.
Placements: The percent of placement among computer engineering students is around 95–97%; mostly all of the students get jobs easily and in reputable companies. The highest package is INR 37 lacs per annum, and the lowest is INR 3.5 lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Oracle, Carwale, Jio, Reliance, LTI, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Carwale, HBSC, Sciative, Capgemini, and more, all of which offer very good packages. Internship: Most of the students get internships easily in college, and many of them do internships in their early years on their own. Due to their specialization in the fields of AIML, IoT, and cyber security, many of them achieve good positions at companies. Roles offered are web development, frontend development, backend development, Java development, UI/UX design, data analysis, etc.
Infrastructure: Infracture is just the facade of VIT; it seems like a suburban building, or we can say a mall. Every classroom is air conditioned and very clean and neat. The library is also very large, with abundant availability of all books related to our respective courses and fields. We have 4-5 canteens on our campus, and all provide delicious and affordable food of top quality and freshness. Medical facilities and sports are also top-notch; we have a number of sport events, like inter and intra-sport events. All kinds of games are played here, from chess to cricket to every kind of sport.
Faculty: Teachers here are the very best of the computer department in all terms of teaching, guidance, and knowledge. Yes, this course is very useful in terms of industry readiness and is very helpful for freshers. Exams are very easy due to the top-notch teaching of the faculty members, and the knowledge with which they clear the concepts for each student is just amazing.
Other: I chose computer engineering after seeing the growth and demand for computer engineers in the industry. We could add more specialization subjects in this field like cloud computing, prompt engineering, etc. There are lots of events, both technical and non-technical; both are fabulous events. There are many committees, like GDSC, CSI, and CESA, that focus on technical events, and a student council that focuses on non-technical events. A lot of extracurricular activities, like workshops, expert lectures, etc., are also conducted.
