KVPY exam 2022 will not be conducted from 2022 onwards. The Department of Science and Technology has decided to club KVPY exam with INSPIRE fellowship.
KVPY application form 2021 dates were extended till September 6. Interested and eligible students were able to apply through the official KVPY website. Earlier, the last date to apply was August 25. The KVPY 2021 application form was released on July 12. All the candidates who are interested in the KVPY 2021 Fellowship can visit the official website at kvpy.iisc.ac.in. The KVPY 2021 exam has now been conducted on May 22. Like last year, the KVPY fellowship 2021 will be awarded solely on the basis of aptitude test and no interviews will be conducted this year due to COVID-19.
An extended merit list of approximately 5,000 candidates will be prepared in addition to the list of KVPY fellows. Rank certificates will be available to the candidates in the extended list. However, the candidates in the extended list are not eligible for KVPY fellowship.

KVPY Eligibility 2021
As a one-time measure, the KVPY eligibility criteria has been revised in view of the prevailing situation due to COVID-19.
Given below are the revised eligibility requirements that the students need to fulfil in order to apply for KVPY 2021:
KVPY Stream SA for Class 11
Due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, as a one-time measure, students who have passed X Standard Board Examination and eligible to enrol in XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2021-22, are eligible to appear for the aptitude test. The student should produce a study certificate of XI class once they are selected as a provisional KVPY fellow. Moreover, the fellowship of the students selected under this stream will be activated only if they join for an undergraduate course in Basic Science (B. Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./ Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S.) in the academic year 2023-24 after having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST & PWD) marks in aggregate in Science subjects in the XII Standard Board Examination. During the interim period of one year, they will be invited to the National Science Camp (Vijyoshi) and their travel expenses and local hospitality will be met by KVPY.
KVPY Stream SX for Class 12
Students enrolled in XII Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2021–22 and aspiring to join undergraduate program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./ Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S.) during the academic year 2022–23. The Fellowship of the students selected under this stream will be activated only if they join for an undergraduate course in Basic Science (B.Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./ Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S.) in the academic year 2022-23 after having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST & PWD) marks in aggregate in Science subjects in Class 12 standard Board Examination.
KVPY Stream SB for UG (Undergraduate)
Due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, as a one-time measure, students who have passed XII Board Examination and are eligible to enroll in the 1st year of B. Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./ Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S. during the academic year 2021–22 are eligible to appear for the aptitude test. The student should produce a study certificate of 1st year B. Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./ Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S. once they are selected as a provisional KVPY fellow. Moreover, the fellowship of the students selected under this stream will be activated only if they join an undergraduate program in Basic Science (B. Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./ Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S.) in the academic year 2021-22 and secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST & PWD) marks in aggregate in Science Subjects in 1st year of B.Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.
KVPY Registration 2021
There are three steps to complete your application successfully. They are as follows:
- Step 1. Registration
- Step 2. Filling personal and academic details, choosing test centres and uploading photo, signature and other certificates, as applicable
- Step 3. Payment of application fees
For successful registration, students must follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Visit the official website and click on ' KVPY Aptitude test 2021 Application portal'
Step 2: Read all the instructions carefully
Step 3: Click on 'Login'
Step 4: Thereafter, all those who do not have a User ID need to click on 'Register'
Step 5: Fill in all the details required and upload supporting documents
Step 6: Submit the form
Step 7: Payment of application fees
Please note that aspirants must pay the fee only at the KVPY application portal. The fees can be paid using a Credit Card, ATM-Debit Card or via Net Banking facility. No other means of payment will be accepted. Once the payment is successful and the application is submitted, no refund of the application fee will be done.

- For General/OBC Category: Rs 1250
- For SC/ST/PWD: Rs 650 (Bank Charges extra)
Students are advised to read the instructions carefully on the official website before beginning with the KVPY registration online.
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals. However, as per the Interim Order (Final Order awaited) of the Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka OCI/PIO students will be allowed to take up the KVPY Aptitude Test 2021.

Documents Required for KVPY 2021 Registration
Candidates must ensure that they have a soft copy of the below-mentioned documents before they sit to fill in the KVPY application form 2021:
- Valid Email ID and Mobile Number
- Scanned copies of photograph and signature
- Academic documents
- Credit card, debit card, and net banking details
- Scanned copy of caste (SC and ST) and medical certificate (for PWD) in pdf format
After successful KVPY registration 2021, candidates must go through the entire KVPY syllabus and exam pattern. This informs them about the topics to be covered for the preparation of the exam.
