RBI Cut off 2024: Normalisation Process

The cut-off will be calculated after following the normalisation method. The RBI cut off is normalised using the Equi Percentile formula, this process is followed to adjust the difficulty level of question papers as the exam is conducted in multiple shifts.

What is the Equi Normalising Formula?

Equi-percentile is a statistical process used to adjust scores on test forms so that scores on the forms can be used interchangeably. The normalised marks are adjusted to the two digits of the decimal. The RBI Cut Off Equi-normalizing formula is given below:

x normalised = (x – x minimum) / (x maximum – x minimum)

For Example: If a bank conducts a test for a group of tent people in which the highest mark scored by the candidate is 95 and the lowest mark scored by the candidate is 37. Then normalised marks for a candidate who scored 78 marks will be:

Normalised Marks = 78(Marks Scored by the candidate) - 37 (Lowest Marks in the test)/ 95(Highest Marks Scored in the test) -78 (Marks Scored by the candidate

=> Normalised Marks = 0.71
