The Commission has recently released the exam calendar for 2023 and there is no mention of TNPSC Group 2 exam 2023 notification in it. It shows that the Commission will release the next TNPSC Group 2 notification in 2024 only and there will be no exam in 2023.

- Main Written Exam( 300 Marks)
- Oral test (40 Marks)

The prelims exam is the first stage exam and it is mandatory to appear and clear this exam. The prelims exam is an objective question-type exam conducted offline in a pen-and-paper mode. Earlier, the TNPSC Group-2 preliminary paper comprised three sections - General Studies, Aptitude and mental Ability Test and General Tamil/ General English. However, according to the revised TNPSC Group 2 syllabus and pattern, the preliminary exam will now contain questions from two sections - General Studies and Aptitude & Mental Ability Test. In the General Studies section, questions will be of graduation level. In Aptitude & Mental Ability Test, questions will be of SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) standard level.

TNPSC Group 2 2024 Exam Pattern - Main Exam
The TNPSC Group 2 main exam is the result-determining phase of the TNPSC Group 2 exam process. The marks secured in the main exam is considered for the final result. The candidates need to secure minimum marks first and then have to overcome the cut-off determined by the commission after the exam. The selected candidates will be called for the interview process. The number of candidates to be admitted to the main written examination will be 10 times the number of candidates to be recruited having regard to the rule of reservation of appointments.
TNPSC Group-2 Mains exam has been divided into two parts - A and B.
Part-A will have questions from Tamil to English translation and English to Tamil translation.
Part-B will have questions from Precis Writing, Comprehension, Hints Development, Essay Writing on ‘Thirukkural and Letter Writing (Official). Questions asked in mains paper will be of graduation level.

TNPSC Group 2 2024 Exam Pattern - Oral Test
There is no set pattern for the TNPSC Group 2 interviews. The interview differs from candidate to candidate and from board to board. The candidates are called for an interview at the commission's office at the specified schedule. The candidates need to carry all the original certificates related to their academic, professional and category records.
