One of the most promising courses which is generally looked over, Liberal Arts studies is a traditional form of education which is taken up after one completes their school. Students who take up a BA Liberal Arts, is known to be an all-rounder, as the student has covered different subjects together than just opting for a specialization. Students can take up a humanities course along with Mathematics for their liking. Or a student can opt to take up History and Economics as the subjects of their interests.

BA Liberal Arts Eligibility Criteria

Before a student can opt for admission to a BA Liberal Arts course, the candidate must fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the university/college. The eligibility criteria may differ from university to university, however, here are the basic eligibility criteria set for BA Liberal Arts which are as follows:

  • The candidate should have done their class 12 from a recognised board.
  • The candidate should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate in their class 12.
  • Candidates with Maths/Economics/Political Science subjects in 12th will be preferred. 
  • For admission in Liberal Arts courses, universities generally conduct entrance exams to test the candidate’s abilities, skills, and all-around knowledge.

BA Liberal Arts Admission Process

Chose University/College: The first step a candidate must take is to search for a college or university, which is offering BA in Liberal Arts. One should check the fees, the seats offered eligibility criteria which are set for the course.

Apply for Course: Once the candidate has identified the university which is offering a course in BA Liberal Arts, the aspirant can proceed to apply for admission to the university. Enter the details required in the application form and pay the application fee. Students must remember that an application window is open for a limited amount of time.

Appear for an Entrance Exam: Universities and Colleges conduct entrance exams for admission to BA Liberal Arts. Students will be judged on their abilities, all-around knowledge, skills and awareness. Other than the entrance exam, candidates will also be judged on their performance in class 12 and will most likely have to appear for an interview or group discussion (GD) round.

Results: Qualified candidates who make the merit list, will be invited to complete the admission formalities. The student has to get the desired rank and percentage, to be eligible for admission.
