Joomla
Joomla is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) by which web content is published on websites. Web content includes discussion forums, photo galleries, e-commerce platforms, user communities, and web-based applications. Joomla is developed by a community of volunteers with legal, organizational and financial resources from Open Source Matters. Joomla is written in PHP and uses object-oriented programming techniques and software design patterns to store data in a MySQL database. Joomla includes a variety of features, such as page caching, RSS feeds, support for blogs, search, and language internationalisation. It is based on the Model-View-Controller web application framework, which can be used independently of the CMS. By the year 2021, Joomla has become the fifth most used CMS on the Internet after WordPress, Shopify, Wix and Squarespace.
