The SNAP 2024 exam will be conducted on December 8, 15 and 21, 2024. All the three sessions will be conducted one week apart, so you won't get one more month to prepare for the second/third attempt. Thus, focus on SNAP 2024 preparation through SNAP mock tests and previous year SNAP question papers in the last one month.

Q:   Which is the toughest section of SNAP exam?

A:

None of the sections of SNAP exam is tough However, if one compares between the three, the Analytical & Logical Reasoning section of SNAP exam is usually tougher than General English and Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency sections. Unlike other MBA entrance exams, where Quantitative Aptitude and English are tough, in SNAP only reasoning questions are tough.

The SNAP Analytical & Logical Reasoning has more questions than General English and Quantitative Ability sections, and most of the questions are not so easy to understand. It has 25 questions and about 18-19 questions are usually doable. Last year in the SNAP exam, the Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency section was tougher than the Analytical & Logical Reasoning. So, candidates must prepare for SNAP exam in such a way that they can handle questions from any section irrespective of their difficulty level.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of SNAP question paper?

A:

SNAP is one of the few MBA entrance exams which is easy in terms of difficulty level. It is much easier The number of questions, as well as the exam duration are less that than other MBA entrance exams. The type of questions asked in SNAP as also pretty straightforward.

Moreover, SNAP exam is held thrice for candidates to repeat attempts, which allows candidates to improve their score if they want to. The SNAP syllabus is same as other MBA entrance exam and there are no questions on Reading Comprehension or Data Sufficiency. This makes the SNAP exam much easier to crack than other exams.

Since 2020, the exam is conducted for only 60 minutes and the total number of questions asked is also 60. The first section of SNAP question paper is General English, the second section is Analytical & Logical Reasoning and the third section is Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency.

Q:   What is a good score in SNAP?

A:

A good attempt of around 80 per cent of questions with 85-90 per cent accuracy is considered good score in SNAP. The SNAP exam has 60 questions only, so the number of attempts considered good are 40-45. Candidates must aim to solve a good number of questions in every section of SNAP, so that their overall score is good and they have a better chance of getting selected for admission. If you do not clear the SNAP cut off may not be eligible for admission to MBA programmers offered by SIU institutes. Meeting the minimum cut off is a mandatory requirement to be eligible for the Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). Thus, when preparing for SNAP, keep in mind a target score. The SNAP cut offs are lower for Reserved category candidates.

Those who are preparing for multiple MBA entrance exams, can prepare for SNAP 2024 in just one month as its syllabus is similar to CAT 2024, XAT 2025 and CMAT 2025. In the last month before SNAP 2024, all that the candidates need to do is change the preparation strategy. But those, who are preparing only for SNAP 2024, they need make a preparation plan with an exam centric approach. In the beginning, take a SNAP mock test without preparation to see where you stand. This will help you in identifying your strong and weak areas. Start with strengthening your strong areas. You need to achieve 100 per cent accuracy in all the topics that are your strength.

2.Have an exam centric approach

After covering your strong areas, move on to weak areas. Since you have less time, you may not be able to cover all the topics well, so go through some previous years SNAP question papers to know topic-wise weightage and types of questions asked from areas that are your weakness. Focus more on those topics that have more weightage.

A:

Yes, SNAP preparation is possible in three months as the difficulty level of this exam is easy to moderate. Complete the syllabus in 45 days and the give one month to mock test practice. In the last few days, do revision for complete preparation. To be in a better position, focus more on the topics from which maximum questions are asked. For example, in General English, most of the questions are Grammar based, so focus on it more. In Quantitative Aptitude section, more questions are asked from Arithmetic and Algebra than Geometry so focus on the former two. SNAP always has at least data interpretation question so don’t ignore it. On the other hand, the Logical Reasoning section of SNAP has maximum number of questions (25) and topics are diverse so pay more attention on this section if you have less time to prepare.

5.Improve SNAP logical reasoning

There will be verbal, non-verbal and visual reasoning questions. You need to be able understand the less obvious patterns in the given questions.

6.Keep in mind SNAP marking scheme

Prepare for the exam keeping in mind the latest SNAP exam pattern and marking scheme. SNAP has negative marking of 25 per cent, which means you need to avoid every question that you cannot solve with 100 per cent accuracy. So, how will you identify such a question? Avoid questions from topics you are not confident about or could not prepare well.

Develop the skill of mental calculation to avoid wasting precious minutes on rough work in Quants section. You must also develop the skill of solving questions through elimination method. This method has proved to be quite useful in saving time.

8.Learn time management

There is no sectional time limit in SNAP exam, so you won’t have the timer running. Thus, you need to time yourself in the exam. Divide the 60 minutes in such a way that you have enough time to solve each section. Strive to meet the sectional cut offs first, and then you can capitalize on each section.

9.Choose questions carefully

The overall difficulty level of SNAP exam is moderate. The English and A-LR sections are usually easy while QA, DI-DS is moderate to tough. However, the difficulty level of the questions could be a mixed bag. So, choose the questions wisely. Attempt only those which you can solve with maximum accuracy.

10.Improve mental stamina

SNAP is an online test, where your comfort with computer system and mouse will prove to be valuable. What you need to develop is the practice of reading onscreen. In one hour, your mind will work on three different types of skills (analytical, logical and observational) in quick succession. Thus, you need mental stamina for 60 minutes of rigorous brain workout. Moreover, there will be no break in between the exam.
