NMAT 2023: Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) will open the NMAT 2023 registration for additional phase from January 5, 2024. Candidates who have yet not applied for any phases and want to appear for the exam can apply using the link on this page below. The last date to apply is January 10, 2024. NMAT 2023 additional phase exam date is January 11 - 15, 2024.
Besides CAT, CMAT, XAT, some of the reputed institutes accept NMAT scores for admission into MBA/PGDM programmes. GMAC designs question paper to ask as many as 108 questions to be answered within 120 minutes. Q: Which is the most important section in NMAT exam?
All sections of NMAT exam hold equal importance as the weighatge in terms of number of questions, and marks are similar across sections. Therefore, no particular section out of three sections hold additional importance. Candidates must prepare for all three sections based on the NMAT syllabus. However, candidates must work on theIr speed as the NMAT exam will have sectional weightage. Although all three sections have equal number of questions, each section has an unidentical time limit to answer these questions.
Q: Does ISB accept CAT score for MBA?
Yes, ISB Hyderabad accepts CAT score for admission to its PGP in Management for Young Leaders programme. There is no course at ISB Hyderabad named as MBA. The institute offers PGP course to the students, it is sometimes commonly referred to as MBA. To get admission to the MBA programme offered at ISB Hyderabad candidates must have completed graduation from a recognised university along with a valid GMAT/ GRE/ CAT score.
- Age limit: There is no age limit to apply for NMAT by GMAC
- Qualification: Candidates scoring at least 50% aggregate in graduation level examination are eligible for the exam.
- Work Experience: Candidates having work experience are also eligible to apply

How to Fill NMAT Application Form 2023?
Steps to complete the NMAT 2023 registration are as follows.
1st Step: Create an account by visiting register.nmat.org by providing name, email ID, mobile number and the country to take the test
2nd Step: Hitting the ‘Create an Account’ button will lead to the generation of verification email. Access dashboard using the verification link.
3rd Step: Click the ‘Register Now’ button from the dashboard and proceed to fill in details as mentioned in the image below

- Carry the same identity card at the test centre as uploaded during the application process.
- For schools preference, choose five institutes accepting NMAT scores in order of preference.
- You might face an additional step of choosing the exam mode in case the exam is held in remote proctored mode as well.
4th Step: Accept the declaration and click on ‘I Agree’
5th Step: Pay the application fee using the preferred mode of payment.
Q: What is the marking scheme of NMAT exam?
NMAT exam is an online MCQ based test conducted for MBA admission. Candidates need to choose one correct option among multiple answer options available in the NMAT exam. The marking scheme for NMAT exam is mentioned below:
- 1 mark for each correct response
- No negative marking is there for icnorrect responses
- No negative marking prevails for the unattempted questions
Since there is no negative marking, candidates can rely on guess work for the questions where they do not know the answers.
While answering questions in the NMAT exam, a candidate receives a question based on his/her answer accuracy in the previous questions. The questions a candidate receives in the NMAT exam are tailored to their ability level; hence, a high-scoring candidate is typically presented with a more challenging set of questions compared to a low-scoring candidate. The scoring of the NMAT exam involves deriving the candidate's final ability estimate using the probabilistic model approach of modern test theory, which is then converted into a scaled score that ranges from 12 to 360.
Q: Who is eligible for NMAT exam?
NMAT exam is conducted for admission to more than 45 b-schools in India. The exam eligibility criteria can vary from the eligibility criteria of a particular institute. Additionally, MBA eligibility conditions for all participating institutes can vary. However, the NMAT exam eligibility remains the same. The space below mentions the NMAT eligibility criteria:
- Candidate must have a bachelor's degree, completed under 10+2+3 or four years of education pattern, irrespective of the stream.
- Aggregate score in the graduation degree level should not be less than 50 per cent the final year of the degree course.
- Candidates waiting for results or are currently in the final year of graduation are eligible to apply for NMAT exam.
Those who are yet to pass the bachelor's degree course get a provisional admission until the graduation mark sheet and certificate of the qualifying examination are submitted at the participating institute.

NMAT Exam Scheduling
NMAT by GMAC dashboard provides an option to schedule the exam. The ‘Schedule Exam’ option shall be activated soon after payment of the NMAT exam fee. Applicants can choose the following details while NMAT scheduling
- Test centre
- NMAT exam date
- NMAT exam slot
After scheduling, candidates will receive an email containing NMAT details. After completing the NMAT scheduling, you will find the ‘Download Admit Card’ button activated on the dashboard. Download the NMAT 2023 admit card using the activated option.
NMAT 2023 Rescheduling
NMAT by GMAC dashboard will host the exam reschedule option. Candidates who have scheduled the exam can reschedule the same by paying an additional fee. After rescheduling, candidates can download the NMAT admit card again with the updated details.
NMAT Exam Retake
Graduate Management Academic Council provides an option to retake NMAT two times along with the first attempt. NMAT dashboard will host the exam retake option after the exam date. Candidates can pay the fee to retake the exam during the test window. GMAC will send the best of three score reports to the selected B-Schools.
NMAT Exam Pattern 2023
Applicants preparing for the exam as per the NMAT exam pattern are likely to score better. The Graduate Management Admission Council prescribes the NMAT by GMAC exam pattern. The table below mentions the exam pattern of NMAT 2023.

The Graduate Management Academic Council does not prescribe NMAT exam syllabus. However, candidates can study topics under the following sections for an enhanced preparation.
- Language Skills: This includes questions from Vocabulary, Grammar, Para Jumble, Syntax, Synonyms, Antonyms, Reading Comprehension, etc.
- Quantitative Skill: This section will include questions from quantitative topics including Coordinate Geometry, Probability, Mensuration, Mixture and Solution, Average, Profit and Loss, Percentage, Number System, Pie Chart, etc.
- Logical Reasoning: This section will include questions from topics such as Syllogism, Blood Relation, Critical Reasoning, Puzzles, Course of Actions, etc.
