The NEET 2025 exam date is likely to be scheduled for the first Sunday of May 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body is yet to announce the NEET UG 2024 dates. Based on previous years’ trends, the tentative NEET important dates 2025 are deduced. The timeline will likely be similar to that of last year to maintain parity and begin the academic session 2025-26 within the stipulated time.

NTA is expected to release the NEET exam date 2025 anytime soon, by December 2024. After that, the official NEET 2025 notification, information bulletin and NEET 2025 application form will be released tentatively in the first week of March 2025. The NEET 2025 admit card is expected to be released in the first week of May 2025, a couple of days before the exam date.

After the NEET 2025 exam is conducted, the NEET answer keys and results follow suit within a month after the exam. After that, the NEET 2025 counselling process is expected to be conducted from July 2025 onwards. Read the complete article to know more about NEET 2025 important dates.

Q:   When will NTA announce the NEET 2025 date?

A:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to announce the NEET 2025 exam date in December 2024. NTA will consider various aspects such as the schedule for other national level undergraduate entrance exams, Board exams, and other factors while deciding the date. Announcing the NEET 2025 date in advance will ensure that candidates get enough time to prepare for the exam. Last year, NTA announced NEET exam date as part of a common exam calendar, consisting of JEE Main, CUET and UGC NET dates. However, this year the JEE Main dates have been announced but other exam dates, especially NEET 2025 date is yet to be announced.

Q:   How many times can I appear for NEET?

A:

According to NTA a candidate can appear for NEET any number of times. There is no restriction on the number of attempts permitted. Moreover, ever since the upper age limit of NEET has been removed, there is even more flexibility in terms of the number of NEET attempts.

The exam is conducted once a year, hence candidates can appear only once in an academic year. But unless candidates fulfil the eligibility criteria, they would not be able to get admission even if they score the qualifying cutoff marks for NEET.

FAQs Regarding NEET 2025 Important Dates

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding NEET 2025 Important Dates.

Q:   Will the NEET 2025 application form submission last date extend?

A:

Yes, there is a high chance of NTA to extend the last date of NEET 2025 application form submission. As per past years' trends, NTA extends or reopens the NEET application window every year, either as a response to student requests or due to some external factors such as server errors or non-functioanlity of exam website. However, candidates are advised not to wait till the last minute, or wait for the extension of application last date, and complete the process at the earliest possible.

Last year, NTA released the NEET 2024 application form on February 9, 2024. The last date to register and pay the application fee was extended from March 9, 2024, to March 16, 2024, 10.50 PM. NTA reopened the NEET 2024 application window from April 9 to April 10, 2024, based on student and stakeholder requests.

Q:   When will NTA open the NEET 2025 application correction window?

A:

NTA is likely to open the NEET 2025 application correction window in the second week of April 2025. The duration of NEET application correction is generally of two to three days. The application correction window is available only for candidates who will complete the NEET 2024 application process by paying the application fee. There are specific fields which will be available for edit and the rest of the fields will be uneditable, for both Aadhaar verified and Aadhaar non-verified candidates. A:

The duration of NEET exam is three hours and 20 minutes. The exam will commence at 2 PM and conclude at 5.20 PM as per the Indian Standard Time (IST). The timing for the international centres varied as per the local timings. NEET is a continuous test with no breaks allowed in between. Thumbs Up IconUpvote Thumbs Down Icon

Q:   Till when can I pay the NEET 2025 application fee?

A:

NTA is expected to conduct the NEET 2025 application process from March to April 2025. Candidates are given the opportunity to pay the NEET application fee for a couple of more hours after the conclusion of the registration process. Last year, the application or the registration window closed at 10.50 PM, after which the application fee could be paid till 11.50 PM on the same date.

It is important to complete the NEET 2025 application process by paying the requisite application fee. Unless a candidate pays the application fee, the process will not be considered to be complete and he/she will not be eligible to appear for the exam. After paying the application fee, candidates have to save and print the NEET 2025 application confirmation slip till the end of the admission process.

Q:   Will NEET be conducted twice?

A:

Although earlier NTA was mulling the idea of conducting NEET twice a year, now it has been confirmed that the exam will be held only once a year in a paper-pencil based mode. NTA communicated this information through an RTI response where it was stated that NEET will be conducted once a year. This has quashed the possibility of conducting NEET twice a year. However, the NTA expert committee headed by ISRO Chief K. Radhakrishnan has recommended conducting NEET twice a year, but there has not been any official confirmation on it yet.
