NEET 2025 exam date is expected to be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) anytime soon. Based on the previous years’ trends, it is likely that the NEET UG 2025 exam will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025. The NEET 2025 application forms will be tentatively released in the first week of March 2025 or by February. The complete exam schedule will be announced by NTA along with the NEET 2025 notification, to be released on the official exam website, which commences the application process.
At present, speculations are going on regarding conducting the NEET 2025 exam in computer-based mode (CBT). Several media reports suggest that the exam mode will change from online to offline this year. However, no official confirmation from the Ministry of Education or NTA yet exists. Based on the tentative exam date, there are approximately six months left. Owing to the lack of official information, aspirants are getting anxious and requesting NTA to release the official notification mentioning the NEET 2025 exam date and time.
There are certain speculations regarding NEET 2025 with respect to the change in the mode of the exam conduct, exam pattern, number of times NEET will be conducted, and the total number of attempts, among others. Owing to the major irregularities and malpractices conducted in last year’s NEET, an expert committee was formed consisting of seven members and headed by former ISRO chief K. Radhakrishnan. This committee was formed to address the issues caused by the paper leak and to suggest ways to improve the exam system. The committee has submitted its report to the Ministry of Education, proposing several changes to enhance the security and fairness of the exam. There may be some changes in the NEET UG 2025 eligibility criteria as well in terms of age limit or number of attempts.Â

Expected Changes in NEET 2025 Exam
Based on the expert committee recommendations, the following changes are expected to be implemented in the NEET 2025 exam.
- Online and Hybrid Exam Models: Within this recommendation, it is suggested that NEET 2025 be conducted in online, or computer-based mode. In case of challenge in conducting the exam in completely online mode, a hybrid mode can be followed wherein the NEET question papers will be displayed on screen and test takers will have to answer on paper.
- Multi-Stage Exam for Medical Aspirants: Similar to JEE Main, the NEET exam is suggested to be conducted twice a year, or in multiple stages. This will help the exam authorities to manage the large number of test takers (over two lakh), and also provide more than one opportunity for candidates.
- Limits on NEET Attempts: The committee proposes capping the number of NEET attempts per candidate, encouraging candidates to prepare thoroughly.
- Change in NEET Exam Pattern: The NEET exam pattern has remained the same over the past couple of years. Hence, there is a chance that there will be a change in the NEET 2025 exam pattern. As per reports, there may be an omission of the optional questions, similar to JEE Main’s latest exam pattern.

NEET Mock Test Series
The NEET mock test 2025 is an important part of the exam preparation. After completing the basic and section-wise preparation, students should start taking the NEET 2025 mock test. NEET mock tests are available at various sources, as well as at the NTA NEET website for candidates to prepare for. The NEET mock tests are categorised into sectional and full-length. At the beginning of the preparation, students should take a diagnostic mock test of NEET 2025 to assess their preparation level, as well as the strong and weak areas. After that, along with subject-wise preparation, or as and when a subject or chapter is completed, they should appear for a sectional or subject-wise NEET 2024 mock test. Once the preparation is complete, the full-length NTA NEET mock test 2025 should be taken at regular intervals and must be analysed by experts or mentors for complete feedback. Shiksha.com experts have curated free mock tests for NEET 2025.
Download the NEET mock test PDF free download 2025 prepared by Shiksha.com experts below.
Q: Â Has there been any change in the syllabus of NEET 2025?
Last year, the NEET syllabus underwent major changes as per the recommendation by the National Medical Commission (NMC). A number of chapters and topics were removed from Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. On the other hand, certain topics and chapters were added and some of the topics were modified. Since such major changes were brought in to last year's NEET syllabus, chances are low that the NEET 2025 syllabus will be changed.
NEET syllabus 2025 will be released officially by NTA along with the information bulletin for the exam, tentatively in the second week of February 2025. Hence, students preparing for NEET 2025 should start preparing, or continue their preparation based on last year's NEET syllabus. Even if some changes are introduced to the NEET 2025 syllabus, those would not be something major.
Q: Â How important is taking mock test to prepare for NEET?
Mock tests form an important aspect of NEET preparation. Exam preparation will be incomplete without taking NEET mock tests and success in this highly competitive medical entrance exam is impossible. NEET 2025 mock test will give students exposure towards the exam structure and question pattern and will also help them understand their preparation level and mistakes to avoid. After taking mock tests, it is important to get the performance analysed thoroughly by an expert or mentor. The analysis will provide insights about the areas of improvement, causes of mistakes, correct approach to attempt questions, time management, etc. The objective of the analysis is to provide an in-depth viewpoint on their performance.

Q: Â How many Sets are there in the NEET question paper?
There are generally four Sets of NEET question papers, which are further segregated into six parts. The names of the NEET 2024 question paper Sets and codes are Q, R, S and T. For the NEET 2024 re-exam, the question paper sets were A, B, C and D. The multiple Sets and codes in the NEET question papers ensure that there is no malpractice in the conduct of the exam. The names of the Sets and codes of the regional NEET question papers are different from the English ones. While distributing the question papers of NEET invigilators had to ensure that they did not give the same set question paper to two consecutive candidates. Once candidates are given the NEET question paper by invigilators, they need to check whether the question paper and test booklet, or answer sheet is of the same code. In case of a mismatch, they need to bring the matter to the invigilators notice. In case they submit the NEET test booklet with a different code from that of the NEET question paper, their exam will stand cancelled.
Q: Â Where can I download the previous years NEET question papers?
Q: Â Who sets the NEET question paper?
Q: Â What is the difficulty level of NEET UG?

Chemistry was of moderate level of difficulty. The Biology section consisted of Botany and Zoology, was the easiest section. Botany questions were tougher than that of Zoology. Q: Â Do all the Sets of NEET question papers carry the same questions?
Although the questions are the same in all Sets of the NEET question paper, the order of the sections and questions vary from set to set.
