Foreign Medical Graduate Examination 2024 ( FMGE )
NBEMS will start the FMGE June registration online in April 2025. The exam can be tentatively conducted in July 2025.

FMGE Exam Eligibility Criteria
1- Foreign medical graduates must be a citizen of India or should be OCI (Overseas Citizens of India).
2- Candidates must possess a primary medical qualification from the recognised institution, which must be confirmed by the concerned Indian Embassy of that country.
3- Students must submit the requisite documents as evidence to prove that they have qualified for the final examination of Primary Medical examination on or before the specified date.

Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE) is an important exam required to practice in India. The NBEMS conducts this exam twice a year in June and December.

No, Students who want to appear & qualify FMGE exam must have a MBBS degree. FMGE exam is conducted for the students who completed their MBBS degree from abroad and they want to practise in India. Though there are certain countries like UK, USA, Austraila, Canada & New Zeland, students passed from these countries don't need to appear in FMGE exam to practise in India.
Educational Qualification:
- The candidate must have completed their primary medical qualification from a recognized institution outside India.
- Candidates who have completed their undergraduate medical qualification from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK) do not have to appear for FMGE for registration with MCI.
- The degree must be listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools maintained by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Citizenship:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must provide proof of their medical qualification by submitting relevant documents, such as degree certificates and eligibility certificates issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Attempts Allowed:
- There is no limit on the number of attempts to appear in the FMGE exam.

FMGE 2025 Exam Pattern
