Recently National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) result for the December 2023 session on the official website, natboard.edu.in. FMGE 2023 Result Analysis
According to the data shared by NBE, a total of 38,535 candidates appeared for the screening exam. 30,046 candidates failed the screening test and 1,386 students did not appear for the exam. Results of 15 candidates have been withheld as the face ID/documents are pending for verification of these candidates. The passing percentage for the FMGE 2023 December session is around 20.57%.

Considering the data of the June 2023 session exam, a total of 21,180 candidates failed and 2,474 candidates passed the June session exam. A total of 24,250 candidates had registered for the FMGE 2023 June session. NBE withheld the results of 116 candidates. The passing percentage for the FMGE 2023 June session was around 10.20.
Q: When will NBE declare FMGE 2024 result for the December session?
NBE will declare FMGE 2024 December session result after one month of the conclusion of the exam. As per the schedule announced by NBEMS, the FMGE 2024 results will be released on February 12, 2024.
The FMGE scorecard will be available for download from the official website, natboard.edu.in around a week after the declaration of the result.
Q: What are the passing marks for FMGE 2024 result?
To qualify for FMGE 2024 June session exam, a candidate will have to score 150 or more marks in the examination. The exact number of FMGE cutoff will be released after the declaration of the results.
The passing percentage for the FMGE 2023 June session was around 10.20. Hence for this June session it will remain more or less same.
Q: If I do not qualify as per the FMGE 2024 result, can I retake the examination?
Yes, applicant can appear for the next session of FMGE exam. There is no capping on the number of attempts applicants appear in FMGE exam.
Though students have to fill the FMGE application form 2024 every time, followed by paying the application fees. Hence it is advised that applicants need to be prepared before appearing for the exam.

No re-evaluation or re-checking allowed
As per the guidelines of NBE, requests for re-evaluation/re-totaling will not be entertained by the exam conducting body.
FMGE Qualifying/Passing Marks
FMGE 2023 passing percentage is 50% marks. This means that a candidate needs to secure at least 50% marks in the FMGE 2023 result. Candidates are expected to score 150 or above marks to qualify for the exam. Any candidates scoring less than 150 marks will be considered “FAILED” in the exam.
FMGE Scorecard 2023
The FMGE scorecard shall be available for download to the candidates through applicant login using the User ID and Password. As per the notification shared on February 6, the FMGE scorecard for the December 2023 session will be issued on or after February 13, 2024. The qualified candidates will also be issued Pass Certificates after in-person document and identity verification tentatively within four weeks of the declaration of results.
Q: What is the result declaration date for FMGE 2024?
The FMGE December 2024 result will be declared online on February 12, 2025. The result will be released online in PDF form. It must be noted the result of particular session will be valid for that session only. Candidates have to score the minimum cut off to qualify for the exam.
The minimum cut off is 50% marks, i.e 150 out of 300. Qualified candidates will have to download the scorecard for FMGE 2024 from the official website on or after the specified date. NBE will issue a pass certificate to qualified candidates. The pass certificates can be collected from National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) office.

Yes, you can download the FMGE scorecard even if you did not clear the examination. This will help you analyse the areas where you lost marks.
Q: When will FMGE result 2024 be declared?
The NBEMS has mentioned on the official website that the result of FMGE 2024 December session will be declared on February 12, 2025.
The authorities will release the FMGE results on the official website at natboard (dot)edu (dot)in. Applicants are advised to enter their login credentials while checking for the results.
Q: My FMGE result has been withheld. What does that mean?
If FMGE result has been withheld it means that the authorities hold back the results of the candidates with incomplete documentation. Once the deficit documents are submitted by the candidate, his/ her result is released.
What after the FMGE Result 2023?
After the declaration of the result of FMGE 2023 by NBE, qualified candidates will have to apply to the ‘Secretary, Medical Council of India, Delhi’ or any other State Medical Council. If a candidate wishes to acquire a permanent registration, then he/she must complete one year of compulsory rotatory internship. However, if a candidate is still in the process of internship then they will be issued a provisional registration certificate.
