FMGE 2024 exam pattern is designed by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). Knowing the exam pattern of FMGE 2024 helps candidates prepare for the examination better. FMGE exam pattern defines various parameters such as the exam mode, duration, number of questions that will be asked in the paper, etc.
The FMGE admit card 2024 was released on January 8, 2024. Earlier the registration for the December session is over. The FMGE exam was conducted on January 12, 2025. The NBE released the FMGE 2024 Demo test for the December session, which enabled candidates to familiarise themselves with the FMGE exam pattern.
Note: This year authorities mentioned one major change the question paper for each part of FMGE will be divided into multiple time-bound sections. For example, if there are 3 time-bound sections* (Section A, B & C) in each part of the question paper, each section will have 50 questions and 50 minutes for the section.
Applicants won't be able to proceed to the next section till completion of the previous section. Students will not be able to review the questions/ modify the responses of a section after the completion of the allotted time of that section.

Q: Has the FMGE exam pattern changed?
No official announcement was made regarding the changes/modifications in the FMGE exam pattern for the upcoming exam cycle. In case any changes will be there, it will be updated for the aspirants. Applicants are advised to prepare for the exam as per the previous exam pattern of FMGE.
Q: How many marks are required to qualify FMGE licensing exam?
The qualifying marks according to the FMGE exam pattern are 50% or more. Candidates need to score 150 marks or more to qualify FMGE 2024 exam. FMGE exam will be conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
Q: Is it necessary to attempt all the questions in FMGE 2024?
No, it is not mandatory to solve all the questions as per the FMGE exam pattern 2024. However, because there is no negative marking in the examination, candidates are advised to solve as many questions as possible. No marks will be deducted if candidates leave questions unattempted.
Q: Will there be any subjective type questions in FMGE 2024?
No. The FMGE 2024 exam pattern clearly states that the question paper will only have multiple choice/objective types questions. There will be 300 questions for which 5 hours will be allotted to the candidates. Each question will have a weightage of 1 mark. There will be NO negative marking in the exam.

FMGE 2024: Scheme of the Examination
Here is all you need to know about the FMGE 2024 exam:
- The examination will be conducted in an online mode
- The medium of the examination will be English
- Candidates will be evaluated based on 300 multiple-choice questions
- All the questions in the FMGE question paper will have equal weightage
- One mark would be awarded for every correct answer
- No marks will be awarded/ deducted for incorrect answers
- The examination will be conducted in two phases – Part A and Part B
- The candidate will be given 2 hours and 30 minutes to attempt each section
- According to the exam pattern of FMGE 2024, a candidate needs to score at least 50% marks in the examination to qualify it

There is no negative marking in the FMGE exam. The correct answer will bring a +1 mark and an incorrect answer or unattempted questions will not be evaluated.

FMGE 2024 Exam Pattern: Subject-wise Distribution of Marks
As mentioned earlier, the FMGE exam pattern 2024 suggests that the examination will be conducted in two sessions. The question paper for both these sections will comprise different subjects.
