NEET Biology question papers serve as an important tool for preparation among aspirants. NEET Biology questions carry the highest weightage in the entire question paper, hence, Biology needs to be given special attention during NEET preparation. The NEET exam pattern consists of 180 questions (to be attempted from the choice of 200 questions) from three sections, namely, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The Biology section carries the highest weightage and it is further divided into two sub-sections, Zoology and Botany. NEET Exam Pattern and Structure

NEET is conducted in a paper-pencil-based mode for a duration of three hours. The multiple-choice questions carry four answer options. The NEET exam structure underwent changes in terms of the sectional division of questions and the total number of questions. In 2022, the total duration of the exam was increased by 20 minutes. The following table brings the complete structure and exam pattern of NEET.

Each question carries four marks and for each wrong answer, one mark is deducted. There is no negative marking scheme involved for unanswered questions.

NEET 2023 Biology Analysis

NEET 2023 was conducted on May 7 from 2 pm to 5:20 pm and on June 6, for Manipur candidates. According to the student's reactions for the NEET 2023 examination, it was observed that the overall difficulty level of NEET 2023 was easy to moderate. Chemistry was the toughest section this year. Physics and Biology were of moderate level of difficulty. Owing to the lower level of the exam, the NEET 2023 cutoff was higher than the last year.

NEET 2022 Biology Analysis

Although the Biology section carried the highest weightage, the difficulty level of the section was the easiest among the total three sections. The questions from the Zoology section were of easy to moderate difficulty level. This section was mainly dominated by questions on the topics of Animal Husbandry, Biotechnology, Human Reproduction and Biomolecules.

The Botany area was considered to be moderate to tough. The majority of the questions were on the topics like Genetics, cell and cell cycle, diversity of life and structural organisation of plants. Check the detailed NEET 2022 analysis here.

Approximately 68-70 questions in the examination are directly from the NCERT books. Around 8-10 questions in the examination can be solved if you have solved the NEET question papers of previous years. Another 8-10 questions in the NEET Biology question paper are from the advanced level.

Biology Weightage for NEET is the highest. Although experts suggest preparing the entire NEET syllabus thoroughly, aspirants must know the topics that are more important than the rest and carry a higher weightage in the NEET Biology Question Paper.
