NEET Cut off 2024 (Reduced): Check Category-wise (General, OBC, SC, ST) Qualifying Cutoff Score & Percentile

The official NEET 2024 cutoff was released by NTA along with the NEET 2024 result on June 4, 2024, 10 days ahead of the scheduled date. However, the revised NEET 2024 cutoff was released on July 26, 2024, along with the re-revised scorecard and merit list. The NEET cutoff refers to the minimum score a candidate has to obtain to qualify for the NEET counselling process. The NEET cutoff 2024 increased from that of last year as the number of test takers is higher. The minimum marks to be scored by General category candidates to qualify is 164. However, the category-wise cutoff percentiles have remained constant. 

NEET 2024 cut off percentile for general category students is 50^th percentile. Based on this, the NEET cutoff score 2024 for the General category is 162. The NEET 2024 cutoff for the General category candidates of the Physically Handicapped (PH) category candidates is 45 percentile. The subsequent NEET cutoff marks for this category is 144. Although the NEET cutoff percentile for the General category has remained the same, the cutoff score increased from that of last year. This is due to factors such as easier difficulty level, increased number of test-takers and intake.

NTA did not lower the NEET cutoff for this year. On the contrary, the NEET 2024 cutoff marks is higher as compared to last year. NTA determines the NEET cut off based on the factors such as difficulty level of the exam, total number of test-takers, total number of seats, candidate category and programme.

It is possible to get admission to a private medical college with a score of 300 in NEET 2023. For government medical college, one should ideally obtain a score above 600. The NEET cutoff for the Government medical colleges vary as per the institute rank and round of counselling. Hence, it can be said that a score of 300 in NEET 2023 may not be sufficient for admission to Government medical colleges. As per past years' trends, a score between 500 to 700 or above is in the cutoff marks for NEET. 

NTA re-released the NEET cutoff for 2024 on July 26, 2024, which states that two marks is reduced for each category as compared to the original NEET 2024 cutoff released on June 4, on the day of the result. The qualifying NEET 2024 cutoff marks for General category candidates is 162. Last year it was 137. As expected, the NEET 2024 cutoff for General category candidates is higher than last year. The reason is, the difficulty level of NEET was lower this year, whereas the competition level has become even higher, along with the increase in the number of seats.

The NEET cutoff score or ranks for Government medical colleges vary for each year and rounds. Moreover, the cutoff for the top ranked colleges is higher than that of the Government colleges with comparatively lower scores. For the General category, NEET cutoff for Government colleges is generally above a score of 700 or above. For some Government colleges with a comparatively lower rank, there might be multiple rounds of NEET counselling and the final round cutoff may be around 450-500. Candidates must note that the NEET cutoff marks for Government medical colleges mentioned here is indicative and absolute. University College of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi provides best medical courses and accepts admissions on the basis of NEET scores of an applicant. Dr Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College admission 2023 to MBBS course is based on NEET UG scores followed by NEET UG Counselling 2023. Candidates seeking admission to Dr Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College must have a valid NEET UG cutoff in order to be eligible for NEET UG Couselling. The MCC, which is the conducting body of NEET UG Counselling will be conducting counselling in multiple rounds. Dr SN Medical College Jodhpur cutoff 2022 was 9251 for General category candidates in All India quota for MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Dr SN Medical College Jodhpur admissions 2023 to MBBS course is based in NEET UG scores followed by the NEET UG Counselling. The MCC, which is the conducting body of NEET UG Counselling will be conducting the counselling in multiple rounds from Jul 29, onwards. RIMS Imphal cutoff 2022 was 53109 for General category candidates in All India quota for BDS - Bachelor of Dental Surgery. RIMS Imphal admission 2023 to MBBS course is based on NEET 2023 scores followed by NEET Counselling 2023. No, you cannot participate in any counselling process if you do not qualify for the NEET 2024 cutoff criteria.  Candidates from the General category candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks in NEET as stated by NTA as per categories in order to be eligible for the NEET AYUSH counselling. To participate in the counselling of AYUSH UG course, a candidate has to meet the following eligibility requirements:

• He/she must have qualified NEET 2024
• He/she must be at least 17 years old as on December 21, 2024
• He/she must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as core subjects

Yes, AIIMS Raipur accepts NEET scores. There is no other entrance exam conducted by AIIMS Raipur or AIIMS institutes for MBBS admission. Althoug earlier AIIMS used to conduct its own entrance exam but it was scrapped in 2020. The admission to AIIMS Raipur takes place through NEET counselling, conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee. AIIMS Raipur seats are a part of the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Candidates must secure a NEET score above 700 in order to have a chance to get admission to the MBBS course in this coveted medical institute of India.
