Q: What type of questions are asked in JEE Main?
The JEE Main question paper will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as per the prescribed syllabus. Each Subject will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any 05 (five) questions out of 10. There will be negative marking for both Section A and Section B. For each question in Section B.A. Candidate has to enter the correct integer value of the answer using the mouse and the on-screen virtual numeric keypad in the place designated to enter the answer. For Section B, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.
Q: What are the main subjects of JEE Main?
JEE Main exam has three subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Question paper of JEE Main is prepared with questions from all the three subjects with equal weightage of 33%. A total of 90 questions are asked in the exam, 30 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The syllabus of JEE Mains for all three subjects is as per the CBSE/NCERT textbook of class 11 and 12. Candidates can check the syllabus from the official website of JEE Main or from the Shiksha page.
Q: Can I change the language of the question paper during the exam?
It is important to note that the official JEE Main 2024 answer key, question papers, and response sheets will be available a few days after the exam is over on April 12. JEE Main exam is conducted in a total of 13 languages - English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Candidates can select their preferred language in which they wish to appear in the exam at the time of filling the application form. During the exam, the question paper will be available in two language, English and the language selected at the time of filling the form. How to Calculate Score Using JEE Main 2024 Memory Based Answer Key and Question Paper?
The JEE Main 2024 memory-based answer key and question papers can be used by candidates to get an idea of their raw scores. To do so, candidates can use the steps below:
- Candidates must first access the memory-based questions and answers for the shift and day in which they appeared for the JEE Mains exam.
- They can then review the questions and answers based on their memory and award themselves 4 marks for correct answers and deduct 1 mark for incorrect answers.
- This process will give them an estimate of their JEE Main 2024 scores.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the JEE Main 2024 cutoff along with the session 2 results. Official JEE Main 2024 Answer Key
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key of the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) on its official website. Candidates can submit their objections to the provisional answer key within a certain period by paying a fee of INR 200 per question. The JEE Main answer key for session 1 is available under candidate logins on the official website.
Candidates can challenge the NTA answer key 2024 online through the login for the JEE Main 2024 answer key. The expected exam score can be calculated by candidates using the JEE Main response sheet, question paper, and JEE Main 2024 answer key. After considering the challenges submitted by the candidates, the final answer key is released. Based on the final answer key, the JEE Main 2024 result shall be announced.
