Q:   I scored 724/800 in CUET. Is there any chance to get admission for B.Com (Hons) in North Campus?

A:

Yes, it is expected that DU's CUET passing marks can range between 400 and 500. Some of the top colleges don't accept this range of marks. Top Colleges of DU namely Hindu College, Sri Ram College of Commerce, Miranda House, and Lady Shri Ram College for Women accept scores of around 700 and above in CUET.

CUET is scored out of 800, and the exam comprises multiple-choice questions. The highest cut-off marks for DU admissions typically fall between 650-700. For admission to the B.Com (Hons) course, a score above 700 is considered good. For admission to the English (Hons) course, a score above 700-720 is considered good.

Q:   What is the CUET score required to get admission in DU for a BCom?

A:

Admission to undergraduate programs in Delhi University, including B.Com, is typically based on various criteria, one of which might be the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). CUET serves as a standardized assessment tool to evaluate students' aptitude and suitability for different courses offered by universities across India. Listed below is the CUET score of 2023 (General Creiteria):

Course2023
B.Com. (Hons.)99.75

Q:   Which colleges can I get for B.Sc maths with 400+/800 score in CUET?

A:

Consider this info:

1. Scoring above 700 can be taken as a very good score in CUET. Marks above 600 can get you a seat in top colleges like DU, BHU, JNU, etc.

2. A score between the range of 400-600 can be regarded as an average score in CUET 2025 exam. Students with such scores are likely to secure admission to good colleges in India.

So, if you want to get into top good college it would not be possible as B.Sc maths courses is in much higher demand but you can look upto other average government for conselling.

CUET UG Result 2025: Calculate of Final Score

NTA mentions the CUET UG marking scheme, which is implied for calculating CUET raw scores. After calculating the raw scores, NTA will follow the CUET UG normalization method for subjects conducted in multiple sessions.

  • For every correct answer or the most appropriate answer, Five marks (+5) will be given
  • Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
  • Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
  • If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
  • If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
  • If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.

CUET UG Result 2025: Marks Vs Percentile

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) evaluates a candidate's performance using two distinct measures: CUET marks and CUET percentile. CUET marks refer to the candidate's total score based on the exam's marking scheme. On the other hand, CUET percentile represents the candidate's relative performance compared to other candidates in the same and different exam sessions. CUET accepting colleges offer admission on the basis of the CUET percentile or normalised score of the candidate.

How is CUET Percentile Score Calculated?

NTA uses the below formula to calculate the CUET percentile score after applying the normalization process:

Percentile = 100 * (number of candidates with equal or lower raw score) / (total number of candidates)

For example, if there are 1000 candidates who appeared in a session and 100 of them have a raw score equal to or less than yours, then your percentile would be 10%.

The percentile is a measure of how well you did relative to the other candidates who took CUET UG. It is a more accurate measure of your performance than your raw score, because it takes into account the difficulty of the exam and the performance of the other candidates.

Also read CUET Marks Vs Percentile to know how CUET percentile and normalised score are calculated

Q:   Is CUET compulsory for state colleges?

A:

Depending on the state and its policies, state colleges may or may not be required to administer a common university admission exam. For admission to these colleges, some states may mandate a common entrance exam administered by the state government or another recognised body. Typically, individuals applying to undergraduate programs, including BSc programs, are required to take this test.

CUET Result 2025: Normalisation Process

CUET normalization process is applied to ensure that the candidates are neither advantaged nor disadvantaged as per the difficulty level of the exam conducted in multiple phases. The process is applied generally on the state/national level entrance examinations for admission to UG courses. In this process, candidates who will appear for the CUET UG 2025 exam across all sessions are ranked on a comparative scale.

In the CUET Normalization Process, the marks of the easier session may be reduced marginally, and the marks of the difficult session may be increased marginally, depending on the average performance in each session. If there is no significant difference in the average of the two sessions, then there will be no significant difference in the normalization marks. The percentile score is calculated up to 7 decimal places to avoid the bunching effect.

Key points:

  • The CUET Normalization Process is used to ensure fairness in the CUET UG 2025 exam.
  • The process involves adjusting the marks of each session based on the average performance in that session.
  • The percentile score is calculated up to 7 decimal places to avoid the bunching effect.

Q:   Can CUET normalisation reduce marks?

A:

CUET normalisation procss refers to a process of adjusting scores to account for variations in difficulty between different sessions of CUET exam. The aim is to ensure fairness and equity among students who may have taken different sessions of the same exam.

The normalization process shouldn't inherently reduce marks for students. Instead, it aims to adjust scores in a way that maintains the integrity and validity of the assessment. CUET Normalization might involve scaling scores, adjusting grade boundaries, or applying statistical techniques to ensure that the difficulty level of the assessment doesn't disadvantage any particular group of students.

Q:   What is the selection criteria for UG in economics? Is it based on CUET scores only? What is the role of grade 12 marks on UG in economics?

A:
The selection criteria for undergraduate admission in economics can vary between universities and colleges. 1. CUET scores: Many universities require candidates to take an entrance exam such as CUET (Common Undergraduate Entrance Test). 2. Grade 12 marks: The marks obtained in the Class 12 board examination are also considered by many universities while shortlisting candidates for admission. 3. Personal statement and essay: Some universities may also require candidates to submit a personal statement or essay explaining their interest in economics and why they want to pursue the subject at the undergraduate level. 4. Extracurricular activities: Many universities also consider a candidate's extracurricular activities, leadership qualities, and community service while making admission decisions. Therefore, the role of Grade 12 marks on UG in economics is significant not based on CUET scores alone. The weightage given to each of these factors may vary between universities and colleges. It is always advisable to check the admission criteria and selection process of the university you wish to apply to.
