IISER Entrance Exam 2025 Pattern: Section-wise Paper Pattern, Marking Scheme

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) conduct an entrance exam in order to provide admission to candidates in the five-year-long BSMS dual degree programme offered by them. The IISER Entrance Exam 2025 format is multiple choice questions (MCQ), where four options will be given to the candidates against a question. Candidates are needed to select one option amongst the four options which are mentioned. To every correct answer, marks will be awarded to the candidates.

Candidates who cleared their Class 12 in the Science stream will be eligible to apply for the IISER Entrance Exam 2025. IISER 2025 entrance examination is conducted once in every year. IISER 2025 entrance examination will have 60 questions which the candidates need to answer in the duration of three hours.

The IISER Entrance Exam 2025 pattern is yet to be announced for this year's examination. It has been observed that the IISER Entrance Exam 2025 pattern remains to be same as of the previous year of IISER Entrance Exam which was also conducted in online mode I. e. computer-based. IAT will consist of 60 questions, 15 questions each from Biology Chemistry Mathematics, and Physics. Total time for answering the test will be 180 minutes. No. Students are not permitted to carry any electronic device including a calculator. However, candidates need not to get worried about the calculator as the numerical which will be asked in the examination will be upto the class 12. Candidates need to remember some basic log values which can be used in solving some of the equations in mathematics and Physics The student will be provided with plain sheets to do their calculation.

As per the IISER Entrance Exam pattern, there are a total of 60 objective questions that candidates need to complete in three hours duration. The question paper will be in English and Hindi languages. The candidates must read all the given instructions provided in the question papers at the time of examination.

The IISER Entrance Exam Marking Scheme is as follows:

1. Physics 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers.
2.  Mathematics- 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers.
3. Chemistry 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers.
4. Biology 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. Marking scheme: Candidates will be awarded three marks for each correct answer. There will be negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer.
