Applicants who appeared in the JEST 2024 exam can check the JEST exam analysis 2024 in detail after the conclusion of the exam. IIST conducted the JEST exam on March 3, 2024 (Today), in offline mode across 38 centres

According to the students who appeared in the exam, JEST 2024 exam can be considered as Moderate to Difficult from previous year exam. 

JEST exam analysis includes the difficulty level of the exam, the number of questions attempted by the students on average along with accuracy ratio and expected cutoff of the exam. By checking the exam analysis of JEST applicants can know the status of other applicants and accordingly, they can predict their chance of qualifying for the exam. 

IIST will declare JEST result 2024 on the basis of correct answer key. 

JEST is a screening test for admission to PhD and Int. PhD programme of different participating institutes in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science, Neuroscience or Computational Biology.

Q:   What is the exam analysis of JEST 2024?

A:

The JEST exam analysis comprises the difficulty level of the exam, the average questions attempted by the applicants, whether any question was wrong or mis spelt and expected cutoff etc. It will be out after the conclusion of the exam. By checking the exam analysis, applicants can get to know about the chances of qualifying the exam.

Q:   What will happen after the declaration of JEST 2024 results?

A:

Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) declared the result of JEST exam 2024 on March 26, 2024. So only those candidates who qualified the exam need to further apply in IITs, IISc, IISERs, NISER, etc. It is to be noted that students should apply to multiple institutions in order to take subjects and institutes of their choice.  

Those who are undergraduate can apply for M.Sc and PhD integrated programmes while those who are post graduate can apply directly for PhD programmes

Q:   When will JEST provisional answer 2024 key be released?

A:

JEST 2024 provisional answer key was released in online mode on the official website. The authorities released provisional answer key on March 5, 2024.

After releasing the answer key, authorities gave time to raise objections if they have in any question. After taking input from the students IIST will release the final answer key of JEST exam.

JEST Previous year Exam Analysis

Applicants who will appear in the JEST exam can check the JEST exam analysis of the Physics subject for a few years which is mentioned below. The topic-wise bifurcation of topics from Physics subjects for the years 2020, 2021, and 2022 are mentioned in the table given below.

JEST Exam Pattern

Since last year exam pattern has changed and earlier there used to be three sections A, B, and C but last year there remained two sections only. There is no official information about this year's exam pattern, it can be the same as last year or change.  

Applicants who will appear in the exam must be aware of the new JEST exam pattern to qualify for the exam. Along with checking the exam pattern, the applicant must be aware of the marking scheme from the table given below:

Q:   Has the JEST Exam Pattern changed?

A:

Yes this year both marking scheme as well as exam pattern was changed. There were three sections in the exam Part A, B and C. 

The total number of questions were 50, 25 from Part A, 25 from Part B and 15 from Part C. The exam was conducted for total of 100 marks.

There was negative marking for Part A and B as Part C was descriptive in nature.

Q:   What is new exam pattern for JEST 2024?

A:

Though the final exam pattern of JEST 2024 will be out in new notification but according to previous year information there were only two sections from which questions were asked in JEST exam and overall marks are also changed. It is multiplied 3 times than previous exam pattern. There is one third negative marking for each incorrect answer as well.

JEST Cutoff 2024

After checking the analysis applicants are advised to check the JEST cutoff for previous year as well as the expected cutoff. It will help to predict the chances of qualifying the exam. Students can check the JEST expected cutoff 2024 in the table given below:

Note: This JEST expected cut off is created on the basis of previous year data, it will be updated after the conclusion of the exam. 

Q:   What is the cutoff for JEST?

A:

JEST cut off marks are the minimum marks that applicants need to secure to pass the JEST exam. The cutoff marks will be same for all the categories, hence the cutoff marks would not differ. 

Based on the marks of the applicants the exam conducting authorities will release the merit list.  Applicants who pass the exam will further need to appear in the counselling held by multiple institutes.

Yes, you should be able to take the IIT JAM, JEST, and TIFR exams in 2027 if you graduated in August 2024, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria for each exam
