There is a bad placement strategy here.
Placements: We are students of Amity University, Kolkata and joined this college to make our future better, but in this institution, only 5%-6% of CSE students get placed. Moreover, other branches' students have to find jobs on their own or else have to attend placements in Byju's or Deloitte companies. The highest salary package offered here is 6 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. None of the companies visits here to offer placements for biotechnology. Internships are also not offered here.
Infrastructure: Our college is famous only for its 5-star rating infrastructure and luxury life. Studies are rated with 5 stars out of 5 stars. There is a well functioning Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, library, hostel, etc. All the facilities provided in the hostel and campus are good, but there is a problem when you wish to go out. You have to make a lot of excuses to go out.
Faculty: Teachers and the study system are very good here. Teachers are qualified, very helpful and knowledgeable. What we study here is worth the money. Teachers don't make students industry-ready, but they develop skills, which are very important for industry placement and a better future.
Other: I chose this course because I want to do research, so I thought this course is the best for me. The best thing about this course is we have more practicals than theory. I suggest our college to remove more computer languages from our course, which are of no use. Everything is fine here, and only the placements are a problem.

Absolutely satisfied because of infrastructure and faculty members.
Placements: 80% of the students were placed. 90% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: The labs are well-equipped and the college has the best infrastructure. There is a medical shop on the campus. There is a gym and various indoor-outdoor sports available in the college.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is quite relevant.
Other: Biotechnology is right now a growing career and after this pandemic biotechnology has flourished a lot. Vaccine production is a main part of biotechnology.

It is a very good college.
Placements: Students with good CGPA got placed in the biotechnology course. The majority of students went for higher studies and specialisations. Top recruiting companies are Zycus and Biopharma. Placements are not very good at Amity University Kolkata.
Infrastructure: We have all the facilities such as air-conditioned classrooms, Wi-F, well-equipped labs, and a huge library. The condition of the hostel is not up to the mark. The hostel does not have a mess. All hostellers have to go to the canteen to have their meals. We have a first aid clinic near the hostel which is good and accessible to all students. There are indoor games and a sports complex which includes a multicourt, table tennis room, squash room, swimming pool, and other facilities. Everything is good.
Faculty: The attendance criteria are 75%. Our course faculty members are very knowledgeable and friendly. They are very helpful and kind. They look out for their students. The curriculum involves B.Tec. We have all the B.Tech subjects that other students study. It makes us industry-ready. The mid-semester exams are a little difficult to prepare the students for the final terms. The final terms are easy. The pass percentage is about 40%.
Other: I chose this course because it involves technical study as well as research work so I have quite knowledge about all the things. Our college is known for its events and fests. It has a very happening crowd and campus life.

Good infrastructure and facilities but lacking a little in placements.
Placements: 1.40% of students were placed. 2. The highest salary- 4.7 Lacs package the lowest-1.8 LPA. 3. Nestle was the top recruiter previous year. 4. Quality control manager, Sales Manager in the Biotechnology field were the roles offered.100% got internship in renowned companies on their own, no college intervention was included. Like in Mother diary, Medical Colleges, IITs, Cipla, etc.
Infrastructure: As per infrastructure is considered it is the best with Wi-Fi, labs, proper classroom facilities and all. Hostel and all are undoubtedly the best among many Colleges. They have AC access in classrooms and hostel rooms with 3 canteens in totality. Full centralised AC is provided.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable with average teaching quality as it varies from teacher to teacher. The course curriculum is 50-50 relevant but I can already make this statement clear that it doesn't make a student industry ready definitely.
Other: 1. I chose this course because I was inclined towards biology and it's technical uses. 2. I wish it was more developed in India and had more implementations in the Indian industry as it lacks basic job opportunities in the core industry. 3. The main event is Amiphoria and amity Kolkata hosts all the auditions of Zeetv, Sony, star plus, colors, MTV in the college campus.

Student Friendly Campus With Good Infrastructure & Faculty.
Placements: I am currently in 3rd year of my course and our seniors batch haven't seen campus placements still. They are the first batch to be selected for placement. Their grooming is going on basis of their quantitative analysis skills and field knowledge. So no company has visited this campus regarding biotechnology so far. But yes some have shown interest. One can check the list of companies in university placement website.
Infrastructure: Overall infrastructure is so good. Wi-Fi connect is available but you have to register for that once you are a student. Library has shortage of books and issue duration is only of 2 weeks. Labs are so beneficial but sometimes shortage of chemicals occurs as well as equipments ( like recently shortage of Petri plates is going on. Though in this case faculty members will arrange things personally). Classrooms are so good and well maintained with CCTV surveillance. In canteen only veg meal is served. Lastly, I am dayscholar but my friends have told me that hostel accommodation is very nice. They are totally satisfied.
Faculty: Faculty members here in Amity University, Kolkata so qualified and helpful. They know one student not only by name but also are very much aware of one's strength and weaknesses. Teaching quality is also good. In case of teaching method, it is so much notes oriented and questions in exams come only from suggestions of given 30-50 questions, which I honestly dislike most. Question pattern in exam is also not GATE or other competitive exam like ( It comprises of 5 questions of 6 marks, 2 questions of 10 marks and 1 question of 20 marks and all are broad answer type questions, no MCQs). Student to faculty ration is good, classes are held properly. For external curriculum like project or paper publishing students should come forward and show interest. No faculty will give you information from their own unless one is showing interest.
Other: The overall campus environment is so fantastic. Amity is 100% ragging free. Students are so friendly. Seniors are so helpful. Every department event is organized with collaboration of both seniors and juniors and it witnesses every time a clear success. The campus surrounding is also so good and well maintained. Amity always encourage cleaniness and a green campus. Student can get a scholarship of 100% and 50% on basis of their score during admission and also during university course on basis of GPA.

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what stands out:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure and facilities, including Wi-Fi, state-of-the-art laboratories, and libraries
* Helpful and qualified teachers, with some exceptions
* Relevant course curriculum, making students industry-ready
* Opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities, events, and fests
* Good campus atmosphere and surroundings

Cons:

* Limited placements and internship opportunities for B.A. students (only 30% of students got placed)
* No industry exposure or practical classes, making it challenging for students to apply theoretical knowledge
* Time management and administrative issues, leading to delays and inconvenience
* Quality of food in hostels leaves much to be desired

Overall Assessment:
While Amity University Kolkata has impressive infrastructure and faculty, the lack of placements and internship opportunities for B.A. students raises concerns. Additionally, the limited practical application of theoretical knowledge and logistical issues may impact the overall learning experience. However, the campus atmosphere and surroundings seem pleasant, and the university offers good facilities and resources.

Ultimately, whether or not the B.A. programme at Amity University Kolkata is worth the investment depends on individual goals and priorities. * Research alternative programs offering stronger industry connections and practical training
* Evaluate the university's career services and internship opportunities before committing
* Consider factors beyond academics, such as campus culture and location, when deciding on a program

By considering these factors, prospective students can make an informed decision about investing in a B.A. programme at Amity University Kolkata.
