Mumbai, 14 April 2026: Rosatom State Corporation, through its subsidiary JSC Engineering and Technology Centre “GET” (ETC GET), announced a pilot training program for nuclear industry specialists in India, developed in a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) and ProSIM R&D Pvt Ltd.

The trail training session will teach how to use simulators and digital twin technologies for nuclear power plants, for practical learning and operational understanding. To meet the growing need for specialists, this initiative supports India's plan to significantly scale up nuclear power expansion by 2047, which is expected to need thousands of trained specialists yearly. But each year, only a few professionals are available, showcasing the huge gap in the workforce.

This program combines the special skills of business experts as well as university researchers. ETC GET brings experience in simulator and digital twin technologies for nuclear power plants, ProSIM contributes capabilities in physics-based modelling and safety analysis, while IIT Bombay brings academic expertise across nuclear science and engineering disciplines. “This pilot training at IIT Bombay is more than an educational initiative. It reflects Rosatom’s commitment to supporting the development of India’s nuclear workforce. Alongside advanced technologies, building the capability to operate nuclear infrastructure safely and efficiently will be essential for the sector’s long-term growth,” an ETC GET representative noted.

This move wants to engage stakeholders throughout India’s nuclear sector, in both public and private entities, while establishing a foundation for future collaboration on training, research, and technology deployment. Rosatom continues to develop cooperation with India across the nuclear value chain, supporting long-term partnerships in energy, technology, and human resource development, including the ongoing Kudankulam NPP Units 3 & 4 project and future SMR collaborations.
