Since it is a degree course and not a technical one, people should not focus on placements.

M.A. in English - Batch of 2024

It is an excellent college for higher education and academic life.
Placements: placements cell of Shri Shikshayatan College is really wonderful. Almost 40% of the students in our batch are placed in reputed companies like SVF, Infopro Learning, KPMG, HDFC, etc. The highest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Top roles offered are content writing, copywriting, sales and marketing, banking associate, and editor.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is top-notch. There's free Wi-Fi, and classrooms are spacious and fully air-conditioned. Library is resourceful, and one can procure almost every book needed. There is no hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable. They help with doubts whenever needed. Course curriculum is relevant and helps students learn the basic skills needed for the job industry. Semesters are moderate. The question paper is set by Calcutta University, but suggested topics given by professors help a lot. First-class percentage is 30%, and pass percentage is around 95%.
Other: I have always wanted to pursue my Masters in English, and this college has excellent rankings. Everything is good. Events are fun, campus life is vibrant and green, and they focus on extracurricular activities to foster a sense of community.

MA in AIHC in Calcutta University
Placements: Some reports show that 99% of placement records are in this course. The highest salary is 3 lakh per annum, and the average salary is 2 lakh per annum. Top recruiting companies like TCS, Wipro, Genpact, HSBC, Reliance Industries, etc., recruit from this university. This university has reputable records, good faculties, and job opportunities.
Infrastructure: Calcutta University has good smart classrooms with high-speed 5G Wi-Fi and also has a vast collection of resources, including books in the library. This college has offered good hostels for both boys and girls. For boys and girls, the same fees apply: 4500 rupees per year. A cafeteria and sports complex are also available.
Faculty: Minimum attendance of 65% is required for the exam. The department of this AIHC , where the professors are very helpful and qualified, offers a PhD program. No placements as such but the course will teach you endurance.
Placements: There is no placement for our course. In fact, they hardly offer placements in any stream. They do give information about jobs but that doesn't count as a placement. Some private companies contact our HOD regarding internships and job opening which they then share with us.
Infrastructure: There is a hostel for which one has to be qualified in terms of distance of the university from their home. The seats are extremely limited and most students don't get the hostel and end up preferring PG. I couldn't get a hold of the hostel as the distance from my home to the university was not considerable. I had to travel 2 hours back and forth everyday.
Faculty: Our professors are really knowledgeable but not that easy to reach out to. They teach some excellent stuff nonetheless. This curriculum is not as relevant and needs an update. I’m doing Masters and I’m not required to write a thesis or anything. There are no active journals. The course doesn't prepare us for higher education or anything else. Semesters are difficult. We only get around 3 months between each semester. If you want to pass, you have to attend all the lectures and the questions would seem really familiar to you. In the first semester, around 50% students failed but the number was lesser in the next semesters.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to pursue higher studies in literature. This degree taught me a lot, I can't deny that. The best part is definitely the teaching and the central library. The professors could be more punctual and we could be given more time to call this course "semester" based. The departmental journal should be reopened. Honestly, there are no fest or events happening, the union is supposed to organise, but they don't. We organise departmental events ourselves such as freshers, farewell, teachers day, etc. No extracurricular activities are held unless we organise an event for it. The campus itself is quite small having no place to hang out. You bunk a class and you would bump into the professor in the hallway. There are multiple scholarships which the students can avail such as K3, Swami Vivekananda, single girl child, etc. There are scholarships for reserved category students as well. But all of these are either Central government or state government scholarships, no scholarships are offered by the university. There’s one available but the officials don’t work for it.

All rounder college and the placement is very good.
Placements: About 60% of students get placement after doing this MA course. The highest package is 8 lakhs per year and the lowest package is 3 lakhs per year. Average package is 4-4.5 lakhs per annum. After doing this course, many have gotten the job of museum director, museum educator, and archivist. Again, many students have got jobs as lecturers in various colleges.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Calcutta University is the best infrastructure. Its campus is very big, and every department has free internet. Class rooms are awesome. There is a big playground, cafeteria, basketball court, and badminton court. The university has its own canteen where food is available at a low cost.
Faculty: The professors here are all very experienced and qualified. This course is absolutely curriculum-relevant. Here every semester exam is conducted every six months. Also, professors conduct weekly mock tests, which help students a lot. Semester exams are a bit tough. Pass percentage is 40%.

The Best college to join. Absolutely amazing facilities and top-class faculty.
Placements: The department collaborates with foreign institutions such as Yunnan University and the New School in New York. Students now have more options to take part in research projects, internships, and exchange programs. The show focuses on development, corruption, and the involvement of multinational corporations, among other elements of South and South-East Asia. Candidates for the program must have a minimum of 55% in their graduate degree marks. The department places a strong emphasis on research and international collaboration, thus graduates should have no trouble finding employment in their chosen subject, even though particular placement records are not available.
Infrastructure: This university has excellent infrastructure and a well-kept campus. Along with other departmental fests, the yearly campus fest, Nexus, takes place from December to March. Many of the books and diaries needed for self-study and the curriculum are kept in the college library. Departmental libraries are also available. There are provisions for smart classes. Regular sporting competitions take place, mostly within departments and occasionally between colleges. Children from disadvantaged backgrounds receive free study materials, clothing, food, and education from the social service organization Roddur.
Faculty: Our coursework equips us for careers in business and research. Usually, 80–90 students can fit into one class, which guarantees a reasonable teacher–to-student ratio that promotes learning. One of the best professors of the modern era is Dr. Lipi Ghosh, the head of our department. The instructors are very talented and thrive at giving thorough, understandable education. Students respond favorably to their instructional strategies because they find them to be encouraging and interesting. The college's instructors are personable and transparent in their interactions. The instructors are committed to assisting pupils in comprehending the subject matter, offering comprehensive clarifications, and attending to any queries or worries. We have four semesters of this course, with research papers, presentations, and dissertations as part of the assessments.

University of Calcutta - The oldest college in India.
Placements: Our college provides internship programs where students take part; basically, final semester students get offers from some genuine multinational companies. Around 70% of the students are selected every year.
Infrastructure: M.A. in English Language and Literature - 2400/- M.A. in French - 2400/- M.A. in Human Rights - 42000/- total There are many more information of course details on the university website. Facilities and infrastructure are very highly supportive for the students.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful to students with proper materials. Course curriculum is very relevant in this college, and internships make a student industry-ready. If students go through properly, then semesters would not bother them; the CGPA is aggregated over all 10.
Other: The campus and the student unit are quite beautiful in nature and behavior. Students should try this ragging-free college after higher secondary.
