Q:   Should I enroll at Chandigarh University in Engineering based on its NIRF ranking in 2023?

A:

It is important to keep in mind that the NIRF ranking is only one factor to take into account when deciding whether to enroll in Chandigarh University's engineering programme based on that institution's ranking in 2023. You should also assess the engineering programs' accreditation, curriculum options, faculty credentials, research opportunities, infrastructure, connections to industry, placement rates, and campus life. To make a well-informed choice, gather as much information as you can, consider visiting the campus, and ask current or former students for their opinions. Before making a decision, consider your personal preferences and needs in addition to the NIRF ranking, which can give you a general idea of how well an institution is performing.

Life at Chandigarh University.
Placements: Students of Chandigarh University get placed in very good companies with high salary packages. More than 70% of students get placement in international companies. Chandigarh University has also been awarded as the titles university with best placements.
Infrastructure: Facilities of the hostel and department are good. The quality of food is also good in the hostel mess. Chandigarh University is also famous for sports. Many of the students have participated at national levels and international levels in different games.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. They are PhD holders. Mid-semester exams are conducted which is also very helpful for students to build their knowledge. Faculty members are also very supportive of students.
Other: The best thing about my course is that it has supportive teachers and they help us. Events and fests are also conducted in the university to showcase the talent of students. During the fests, different celebrities and singer are invited for their performance. The university also provides a scholarship for the students and students have to maintain a CGPA of 7.5 in academics.

I am satisfied with the placement record and the corporate resource center is doing a great job.
Placements: I'm a student of B.E in computer science and engineering. Till now, approximately 1,600 students got placed in companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, and Capgemini. The highest salary package offered till now is 28 LPA this year. It is offered by JP Morgan Case. Approximately 2,000 students did not get placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good here. We have well-equipped labs with Wi-Fi. There are projectors in every classroom. Medical facilities are also available. CU has a separate dispensary for their students. There is a clean and green environment. Overall, good to go.
Faculty: I'm a little disappointed by faculty members here. Faculty members here are not very experienced. The good thing is they are offering very good placements here, that's what we are here. At last, we all need to cover skills on our own, so having faculty inexperienced doesn't make any sense to your career. Nowadays, we have YouTube and other things to cover up the things, so good to go.

Review of Law department of Chandigarh University .
Placements: There are only 25-30 students who get placed in every batch from all departments, such as LL.B., B.A., LL.B., BBA LL.B., B.Com. LL.B, etc. B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) is very weak compared to the total strength of the university. The average package is listed about 5 Lacs in their website but I believe it to be comparatively less. Most students were placed in law firms in Chandigarh or Delhi. As for law department, the placement record is not so good.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure provided by the university is top-class. A new library is opened this year in the department, and I would say this is a great step taken by the university. A projector is also provided in every classroom. Talking about hostel facilities, 4 seater rooms are generally available with cooler facilities. Mess food is also good, and canteen facilities are also provided in every corner of this university.
Faculty: Talking about the faculty of the university, most teachers are very professional. They have completed their graduation from Chandigarh University itself and are not really qualified in teaching well. They would not even recommend books to the students. PPTs will be provided that will cover the whole syllabus. The course curriculum is no doubt good. The semester exams are also not really difficult, as most questions come from PPTs. However, it does not make the students industry ready because of the qualified staff.

All about Chandigarh University.
Placements: The placement rate is very low, and about 25% of students get placed in the CSE course. The average salary package offered is 4.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3.6 LPA. Few companies are coming to recruit students but their criteria are high like 8 CGPA and very few companies hire students with criteria of about 7 CGPA. However the placement cell of CU is very helpful, they provide soft skill classes and aptitude for making students placement-ready.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and the hostel are very great and well-organised. All classes are air-conditioned. Wi-Fi is also available on campus as well as in the hostel. Libraries are very big, air-conditioned and well-maintained. Medical facilities are also provided on the campus, and they made a small hospital. There is a sports complex at the side of the main campus. Overall the campus infrastructure of CU is the best.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful. They are very experienced. Many teachers come from MNCs to study here. The course curriculum is very hectic and literally very lengthy. In every month of the semester, they held exams and practicals. We have to do one project in every semester, which is mandatory.
Other: I chose this course because I had an interest in technology. This college was also popular for this course, so I took this course here. If you want to take an admission here, then you should maintain a 7.5 CGPA in academics to be placed.

I am somewhat satisfied with the facilities provided by the college.
Placements: In our batch, around 85% of the students got placed with the highest salary package of 80 LPA, and the average salary package offered ranges from 6.5-7 LPA. Many MNCs and big companies like Google and Microsoft AWS visit the college for placements. Around 70% of students are easily able to get internships in various big and small companies.
Infrastructure: Classrooms in our department are of decent size with decent seating capacity, proper seats, and desks, along with proper podiums and screens for studying PPTs. There are around 60 students in a class. There is Wi-Fi all around the building, with short libraries in all buildings and a main library. The quality of the hostel is pretty nice. I opted for the 3-seater non-air-conditioned room, and the feel of that is 1 lakh Rs. 32,000 per year. The food in the mess is quite good and better than most university hostels.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. There are both good, decent, and bad teachers. Our batch has been lucky as we have got the majority of the good teachers. Exams are not that difficult, and they are in general on the intermediate difficult level. We have 3 exams throughout the semester that are mid-semester 1, mid-semester 2, and finals.

Honest review after passing out.
Placements: Marketing placements were more. Even in banking fields and banking companies, mostly companies were referring students with marketing specialisation in minor. Companies for finance was very less. Recession is also going on so can't blame the university for that.
Infrastructure: Hostel is not that good. There are no AC in the hostel. Food was good for the first month only after that it was really unsanitary and taste like garbage. Options for ordering food were also very less. To order from Zomato also we had to go outside the hostel. Delivery partners weren't allowed inside the main GATE.
Faculty: Faculty was good. A little more could have been added in the curriculum. More practical things regarding our field could have been taught but they weren't. Some suggestion could have been taken from the students regarding the curriculum. I think some changes should be made.
