Overall, it is a good college experience.
Placements: Atleast half of my batchmates were placed through campus but some prefer self-placements. Many were doing jobs after getting a degree from college. As in B.J.M.C., money was very less. The highest salary package offered was 5 LPA. The lowest wasn't disclosed. Zee News was the top media house. One of my friends is the editor of a big TV channel.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi speed was awesome in 2019. It was almost 10 Gbps. Labs were quite good. A good number of PCs were available for all the students. Classrooms were large. They had good light, air, and boards. Projectors were available in all the classes. I was living in a hostel. To be honest, we prefer to eat at least 3 days outside as you know about the hostel food. Wednesday morning breakfast is full of protein, and Thursday afternoon lunch is good.
Faculty: Teachers were student-friendly. They were helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable in their fields. I was reserved with the practical work as they focused more on copybook teaching rather than working in the field. Semester exams were the proper test of our knowledge and capacity. Overall, they were good teaching staff members.
Other: I wanted to get the breaking news, so I opted for this course. If they can do more practicals, it will be helpful.

Review of Chandigarh University (CU).
Placements: For our course, students must have skills rather than a degree. If a student has skill, they can apply anywhere and can easily get a job if they outshine form others. Very few students are placed in our course, only the most deserving students get placed by the top news channels, newspapers, and radio stations. Around 20-30% of students get internship from our course in big companies like Zee news.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by this university are very well. Students have separate laboratories for each practical subject and has a good library in each department which has a good variety of books. Classrooms are large and have SMAT class, but do not have air conditioner which creates a big problem during summers. Hostel rooms are well, and the food served is good and healthy. The facilities for other co-curricular activities are available.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive and cooperative. They provide good knowledge of theory as well as practical. Students have studied most things online so they have not face such issues with exams as the exam is objective and students are already taught everything that came in the exam. Course do help students make them industry-ready. Exams are normal so students can pass them with little preparation.
Other: I chose this course because this is way different from others and it is very interesting as well. The students who like to explore a lot can go for this course. If practical knowledge is given to each student individually then it will be better. There are a lot of events that are organized by this university almost every month, and students enjoy them a lot. There is a huge crowd on the campus. Competitions and many events are organized for extracurricular activities on regular basis. Scholarships are provided to students while taking admission by giving a scholarships exam.

The faculty is good, the infrastructure is good, but ultimately, it is the placement that matters.
Placements: Mostly, a fewer number of students secure placements here as the institution does not provide proper placement assistance. The highest package for this course is 6 lakhs, and a limited number of companies visit. Initially, they claim to offer 100% placement, but it is not true.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is undoubtedly excellent, and my hostel experience was also positive. There are some restrictions and timings in the hostel that one needs to adhere to. The hostel atmosphere is pleasant, but the food quality is not satisfactory.
Faculty: Faculty members are exceptionally helpful and friendly. They provide every basic detail politely. The staff and teachers are supportive, and even our Head of Department (HOD) was helpful in guiding us on the right path for easy learning.

Placements are good, and I am highly satisfied.
Placements: Companies visit our university, like big brands like Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, SAL Labs, Practo, Josh Technologies, PayU Payments, Unisys, DE Shaw, Gemini, John Deer, Cubastion, Deloitte, Sapient, etc. Big MNCs that visit here are Cognizant, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, Mindtree, Polaris, IBM, NewGen, Zycus, etc.
Infrastructure: If you get a chance to stay in the hostel for once in your life, then I suggest going for it. It is a life-changing lesson as you go through many good and bad experiences.
Faculty: Faculty members at Chandigarh University are more in number. Programmes under faculty members of electrical engineering provide opportunities for all the students to expand their horizons, both personally and academically. They also help in growing the diverse university culture. Faculty members of engineering continue to expand with an international focus, forming partnerships with universities globally. Faculty members of engineering also undertake important research within their discipline areas. Chandigarh University offers electrical engineering and is committed to giving in-depth, globally acceptable all-around knowledge to students.

Very good facilities and mentors, and the infrastructure was quite good as well.
Placements: Basically, in our field, there are many opportunities if you are a good candidate. There are multiple students who get placed at once; so, according to me, it's a good way to start. Some of the students are not placed because if you want to get placed, you need to take action and start searching for it, so it will be quite helpful for your future goals.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was quite good and helpful for students. Actually, I have never been in the hostel, so I don’t know, but I have heard from my friends that the food was quite good, and the infrastructure of hostels was tremendous. I have also tried some of the dishes that were amazing, and the canteen has all types of food. Whatever you want to eat, you can easily find it.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers were good and helpful mentors who are always there for you no matter what and help you out in every kind of situation that you are facing. The semester exams were okay, not that tough; the thing was pretty clear. If you have attended the classes regularly, then it's not going to be a big deal for you.

Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. programs at Chandigarh University (CU)?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Here's the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. programs at Chandigarh University (CU):

Placement Cell Effectiveness

* According to students and alumni, only "a few" students from their course have been placed by the university's placement cell.
* However, many students from the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) department have been placed with good salary packages.
* While there isn't much information available about the placement cell's performance specifically for B.A. programs, it appears that the cell has had limited success in placing students from these courses.
* Overall, while CU's placement cell seems to have potential, it would benefit from improvement and increased efforts to place students from all disciplines.

Note: Since most of the information provided is anecdotal and doesn't represent a representative sample size, it's difficult to draw definitive conclusions about the effectiveness of the placement cell. Further research or data would be needed to gain a more complete understanding of the situation.
