IIT Delhi Placement Overview 2025

IIT Delhi company registration process usually starts around the month of June whereas Internship hiring process starts from July onwards every year. The placement pre-hiring process starts in the month of September while full-time recruitment process begins from the first week of December every year.

Meanwhile, IIT Delhi alumni network is one of the most active alumni associations of the country that operates through a network of international and national chapters. The alumni association of IIT Delhi has a member strength of 6000 Graduates and is growing at about 2,000 students every year.

At end of Phase 1 placements 2024-25, a total of 1,200 offers were made and 1,150 students were placed during the Phase 1 of IIT Delhi placements 2025. Further, more than 50 international offers were made during IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25. Earlier, Core (Technical) sector emerged as the top recruiting sector that placed 36.6% of the total students during IIT Delhi placement 2024 followed by IT and Analytics sectors that placed 20.7% and 10.9% of the total students, respectively.

The highest salary package offered 32 LPA, with the lowest salary package offered 9 LPA. The average salary package offered is 18 LPA. Top recruiting companies included Biocon and other leading biotech firms. Around 80% of students secured internships in prominent companies, gaining valuable industry experience. Roles offered included bioprocess engineer, R&D associate, and product development scientist, reflecting the course's strong alignment with industry needs in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

Infrastructure: Campus offers top-notch infrastructure, with Wi-Fi available everywhere for seamless connectivity. Disappointed with the behavior of the college staff.

Placements: The percentage of the students who were placed in our batch was 70 percent. Many big and reputed companies like TCS, L&T Infotech, etc., reached our college for recruitment and many students also got internships. The highest package was 12 lacs and the lowest package was 4 lacs.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our institute is well managed. Free Wi-Fi facilities, modified classrooms and labs and comfortable hostel rooms. Also, the campus is covered by greenery, which gives fresh air and spreads positivity. Multiple sports and medical facilities are available.

Faculty: The teachers are very knowledgeable and qualified. But they are not much help to the students. The college faculty members and staff have a little rude behaviour towards the students. Students have to deal with their own situations. Not many curricular activities are conducted apart from studies and lectures.

Infrastructure: IIT Delhi's hostel infrastructure is in dire need of an upgrade. Many of the hostels are over 60 years old, and have seen minimal renovation or upgrades in recent years. A modern update would greatly improve the overall living experience. The IITD hospital also has its limitations, with a shortage of well-qualified doctors and outdated facilities. This can make it challenging for students to receive quality medical care on campus. On a positive note, the library stands out as a valuable resource, offering a well-organized, quiet space for study, with a wide range of academic resources and materials that effectively support the academic needs of students.

Faculty: IIT Delhi's Textile Engineering department has highly qualified, knowledgeable, and committed professors. They make complex topics understandable and help students develop technical skills and analytical thinking. However, the administration, including certain deans and the academic body, can be difficult to deal with. Their strict policies and rigid grading practices can be stressful and affect students' CGPA outcome. Placements: Some students opt for tech placements and some opt for ed-tech placements. Very few students opted for a Ph.D. Top tech companies like Robust and Accenture visit the college. Edtech companies like Allen, FIITJEE, Bhautiki, and PW visit the college. Approximately 90% of students who are preparing for placements get internships and jobs.

Infrastructure: Hostels are great. In the first year of M.Sc, 2 students should share one room. In the second year, separate rooms are provided. The hostel has facilities like free Wi-Fi, a music room, an activity room, a gym, and a good mess. A variety of food items are available in the mess menu. The food quality is very good.

Faculty: All professors are the best in their fields. They are very helpful and friendly in nature. The course curriculum is also very good. Students have great opportunities to master any field. They always have a fear of semester exams. Semester exams are moderately hard.

Other: I found the data science field very interesting, so I joined this college. I think the course can be made more interesting by adding more project work to the course curriculum. At IIT Delhi, events are held very frequently so that students can hang out with their friends.

Hostels are good but have a bit of old rooms. They have basic amenities like a bed, table, chair, mirror, etc. The mess food is normal. Sports facilities are available.

Faculty: One of the best things about IIT Delhi is its professors. They are very good in our department. They are very helpful and qualified from very good universities. They love teaching. The course curriculum is very relevant and industry-based. We can do projects and research work also if we like to do.
