Placements: As the branch is not that mainstream nowadays, the placement is average. Most of the students end up getting jobs in IT companies like TCS. But some exceptionally good students obviously get a job in the core companies with a good package. The average package is nearly 4 lakhs per annum.
Placements: The 2017 passed out batch had a moderate placement. An average of 70% students were placed. Computer science had the most number of students placed at 75% and civil dept. had the lowest at 48%. The highest salary offered was 29 LPA to a computer science student. The average salary offered was around 6.5 LPA. The lowest salary was 3 LPA. Many companies visited like Microsoft, Amazon, Tata Motors, Samsung, Mahindra, Reliance, Flipkart, Fiat, Cesc, etc. A good number of students also got an intern...
Placements: Placements are neither too good nor too bad according to the current scenario. 8-10 students get placed in L&T ECC with an average package of 6 lakh per annum, 3-4 get placed in Shapoorji Palonji with 5 LPA on an average. Other companies which visit the campus are ACC cement, HPCL and some local consultancy companies. Last year a girl got placed in HPCL with a package of 14 LPA. In non-core sectors many finance companies like MU Sigma, Futures first, etc recruit civil engineering students with a...
Placements: The placement for my stream is not that great. Last year, out of 77 students, only 23 got placed. And among them, 12 got placed in IT giants like Infosys. So the current scenario is not that good. (Information for the 2017 pass out batch, till March 2017)
Placements: 80% of the students were placed. Marketing students have higher chances of being placed than finance and then HR. Highest CTC offered to our students was 7.5 LPA and lowest was 2.2 LPA. Some of the companies that visited for placement drive were: JustDial, Ujjivan, CeaseFire, Axis Bank, HDFC, HSBC, PWC, Future Generali, VIVO, AMUL, Airtel, Godrej and Allied Analytics.
Placements: The placements in NIT Durgapur is actually quite good(above average). This time almost 60% of the students had been placed with a good number of reputed companies coming in. The highest package offered was close to 30 LPA. A good number of IT companies and few core companies visited the campus. We also had market analyst companies like Mu Sigma, Futures First hiring a number of students. IT giants like Microsoft, Adobe, Samsung, Qualcomm had visited the campus. PSUs like BPCL, IOCL, ONGC, MIDHA...
Placements: Placement in CSE, NIT Durgapur is good if we compare to other branches of this institute. But yeah, it has fallen down in previous 2–3 years. If we think nothing is there for CSE in NIT Durgapur, then that will be wrong. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart and Oracle come here and everything depends on the calibre of the students to get an MNC or mass recruiters. Another thing is there, I am a student of NIT DGP and I can't say my college is bad. The average package hovers around 5-6 lpa. The highe...
Placements: The placements are always fine in our senior batch and the previous one. Being in the IT sector is the result for being the branch with highest percentage of placement offers. It has a placement percentage of 70.33. The IT branch has a placement percentage of 69.32. I do not know much about internships but my friend was able to secure two internships. One from Google i.e GSOC (Google summer of code) which gives him around $2500. Only 4 people are able to secure that in our campus this year. He a...
Placements: Placements in our college are very good for CS and IT branches. The remaining branches have average placements. Companies like Microsoft, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra and many startups from Kolkata also visited our campus. The highest package this year - 27.5 LPA by Amazon and two people got selected. The average package- 4.5 LPA. Some of the students got internships abroad.
Placements: Placements for our batch were below par when compared to our senior batch, as this year, Reliance chose not to visit our campus for recruitment (last year the company hired 20 students). 32 (including core and non-core jobs) out of 55 students are placed as of now. Many are expecting their off-campus call-ups. Highest - 8 LPA. Average: 4-5 LPA. Reputed companies like Vedanta, Saint-Gobain, Voith Paper, HPL, Uttam Galva Steels, Tata Mettalics, OPAL and other non-core companies. Most of the roles...
Placements: I am talking only about the metallurgy department. The placement for core was not good, especially for Metallurgy. Very few companies visited the campus which were interested in recruiting Metallurgical engineers. Around 50% students got placed. Most of them got placed in software companies rather than getting placed in core companies. The highest package was around 6 LPA while the lowest went up to 2.5 LPA. Companies like Linde, Mahindra, Haldia Petro Chemicals, Vedanta, JSL, Tata Metalliks...
Placements: In NIT Durgapur the placements will start from the 2nd or 3rd week after the start of the 7th semester (usually mid of July). The placement details and total intake were not very good for us in comparison to our senior batch in 2015, as the college authority made some ridiculous rules regarding how a student can apply to different companies. For example, one of those rules were that if any student will secure a job in a mass recruiter company or core job, they can sit for PSU as well but not the...
Placements: The placements for CSE and IT depts are quite good. 70% of the people from these depts get placed just within two months of the start of the session. For other depts like Mech, ECE, EE also it was quite well this year. If you are from core dept with good CGPA, your chances of getting PSU and other govt. job increases. Rest all depends on your preparation, hard work and luck, of course.
Placements: Placements as a whole depend upon the departments. Departments like electronics, computer science and IT have always had wonderful placement records. On the other hand, departments like biotechnology and civil languished. In 2016, the chemical department had very high placements because Reliance Industries picked up 20 out of 65 students. In 2017, however, Reliance did not visit and the placement record of chemical department still stands at 19 out of 55 in the month of February, leaving out tho...
Placements: Companies do come for CSE and IT. Core departments placement is not up to the mark. PSUs often visit the college but very few are taken by them. Lack of proper placement cell head and coordination. Companies don't come for recruitment. Overall core department placements can be improved. Training and placement representative are not treated properly. Students select their TPR as per their requirement.
Placements: In senior’s batch, 60% students got placed from the campus in which 7.6 LPA (FactSet) was the maximum and 3.5 (IBM) was the minimum package offered. Many companies visited NITDGP like - Amazon, Directi, Infosys, IBM, MAQ and Intellect Design Arena (internship). 2 students got placed in Amazon after an internship in 27 LPA. In my batch, total students are 64 out of which, 35 students got placed. The maximum package is 19 LPA (smart pix) and the lowest package is 3.5 (IBM).
Placements: Placements are pretty good. I got placed in MPhasis with a good package. The highest package is also not so bad. One of my friends got 19 lpa, which is good for an MCA student. Approx. 60% of my batchmates got on-campus placement, remaining went for off-campus. The avg. package is 6-7 lpa. Almost whole of my class got internship in good companies.
Placements: Placements are excellent in NITD. Although, the placement cell record shows a placement of 73% but in reality those who have not been offered a job have either a year back or they themselves opt out of the placement activity as they want to pursue higher education. So, I can confidently say that the actual unofficial placement percentage is about 80% if we remove the above two cases. As far as internships or training are concerned, then the institute takes the responsibility and makes sure that ...
Placements: The college has a very good placement record. Like in other colleges, placements of the computer science department are excellent. A lot of core companies also visit the college throughout the year. Many companies visit the college to give internships to mechanical and computer science students. Other departments usually don't get an on-campus internship. This year, the highest package was given by D.E. Shaw (24 LPA). The average package is around 6 LPA. Every year, a group of 6 students is sen...
Placements: The placements last year were good enough as 97% of the department got placed. Many reputed companies were a part of campus placement. Some of the core companies among them are Reliance India Limited, Tata Metallics, BPCL, HPCL, Vedanta and L&T. Some of the financial sector companies like Mu Sigma, ZS associates, and Futures First, and mass companies like IBM, TCS, Infosys and coaching institute Aakash visited for placements. The positions allotted to the students were Junior Engineers and Finan...
