Let's not beat around the bush and just get to it. Are we taught well? Well more or less. Satisfactory but one would need to study on their own nonetheless. Hostel: One word, Freedom. Something only government colleges can give you. Food is a tad better than bearable. Then again we eat to survive. Co-curricular: Plenty of clubs and sports teams to join. Plethora of opportunities. Clubs conduct their own fests. Teams represent the college in inter-NITs. Shops and eating joints: The college ca...

The National Institute of Technology, Durgapur (formerly Regional Engineering College, Durgapur), was established by an Act of Parliament in 1960 as one of the eight such colleges aimed to function as a pace setter for engineering education in the country and to foster national integration. It is a fully-funded premier Technological Institution of the Government of India and is administered by an autonomous Board of Governors.

This is one of the NIT'S in India. NIT name speaks for itself of how it is a technical aspirant for a young student. Creative minds are always appreciated here. Teachers are really hardworking who teach students in the best way possible. Labs are advanced with the best technology available and the atmosphere is also what a creative student need or deserve. Library is functional from 6 in the morning to 9 at night with all advanced and costly books available. Placement of the college is also very...

Too good to experiment and try out new things. Students own majority of clubs which builds in them managerial skills. Lots of fest and events round the year which helps students to relax. The Faculty Members are helpful and good. Best branch to study is Mechanical Engineering.

Very good College with 100% placement. Very good faculty team. It spreads over about 175 acres with 11 beautiful hostels with but mess food is not so good. Every year Aarohan takes place which is a techno management fest where students from many colleges come to take part in them. The academics is very good and CSE, ME and MME placements are very good especially in mechanical branch.

Academic loads in core branches like EE, CE and ME is huge. Although if you go for CSE ones load shall be one fifth of those mentioned above and package might be 5 times of them. The college is located at the heart of the city with a mall very near to it. The infrastructure has seen some development and new buildings are also coming up. Hostels are not that good.

I don't know what my fellow batch mates would say, but after I joined this college, I came to experience life. NIT Durgapur has given me the best four years of my life. And by NIT Durgapur, I mean mainly my hostel life, then academics. The mess food is NOT good, but the ambience and company you get is awesome. Then there are late night football matches, TT, watching matches in common room. The faculty here is highly qualified and we are proud to have top Engineers of India as our professors. Som...

One of the best engineering colleges in India, producing some of the best Indian engineering minds over the years. Very nice place to study, learn and connect with industry. A good place to render the "Uneducated" to the "educated". Still I love to cherish those memories stringed to the core of the heart.

However everything has a negative side and same goes with our college too.
