College was having qualified faculty, good quality facilities and placements were average.
Placements: At this college placements were given to the students. Almost 36% of students gets placements in the college. The highest package offered was 12 LPA. The lowest package offered was 3 LPA. Average package offered in the course was between 3-7 LPA. Top recruiters in our course were Myntra, Goldman Sachs, Infosys etc.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure for our course was average. All the facilities given to our college students. High-speed Wi-Fi connectivity in the entire college. Labs, library, hostel, canteen etc. Facilities were provided to the students. Hostel facilities includes cleaned toilets, furnished rooms and hostel mess was also good to eat.
Faculty: Faculty of the college was qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of this college was good. Teachers in this college were very supportive and helpful to the college students. Course curriculum of our college was relevant. Semester exams of the college were not very hard to pass.

Absolute reality of PEC college.
Placements: Last year more than 70% of students were placed and among 5 five students who got the highest package of 84 Lacs, two are from ECE and the average package was of 21 Lacs. Top recruiters are Uber, Microsoft, Apple, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Samsung, American Express.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the course was decent but some things are just taught because they are in the syllabus. Teachers sometimes focus on just completing course rather than teaching. And the conditions of the hostels is more worse. Old rooms demanding restoration, damaged almirahs, missing study tables and low quality mess food.
Faculty: Some teachers are really helpful, while some are arrogant and having rude behaviour. No doubt the teachers are highly qualified but their teaching methods are somewhat of school type. The course curriculum is effective in some areas but some things is still lacking as some teachers never been to the industry.

Things to Know About PEC, Chandigarh.
Placements: Placement trend of 2023 was very good. If I talk about the ECE branch, almost 90% of students were placed that year, and that too with 18 LPA as their median package. Many companies had visited, and companies like Apple, which do not recruit even from IITs, had recruited students from our college. Other companies were Amazon, Infosys, Goldman Sachs, and many more. In 2024, placement has gone down, and the median package dropped to almost 14 LPA for ECE, as well as the number of students placed had also reduced. The highest package for 2023 was 83 LPA, while this year it was around 53 to 58 LPA.
Infrastructure: Honestly, if you are looking for good infrastructure, then PEC, Chandigarh, may not make you happy. The college or hostel is not in very good condition and needs urgent renovation. Though all the facilities are provided by the college, whether it is Wi-Fi, Labs, Projectors, Library, or anything else. The college does have its market. In my Branch, Crores have been invested in a Semiconductor Research Lab, but I have not seen it yet. Mostly all sports from cricket to foosball can be played in the college. A swimming pool and even a gym are present inside the college. You have facilities regarding medical treatment. You can expect that in hostels you will get the quality of food that will allow you to survive, but getting delicious food every day is not possible from the Mess.
Faculty: As per my experience till now, you will meet teachers who are qualified and knowledgeable. Many faculty are good enough, and you will surely be impressed by them, while others might not make you that much happy. A few of them are very strict, and it will be good not to misbehave with any faculty member. The course is well planned and has the ability to make you industry-ready. A few things might sound irrelevant, but you have to study them. You have to submit assignments, have quizzes, midterms, and end terms throughout the semester. The level set by the faculty is mostly moderate to easy, and even the marking system is relative rather than absolute. According to relative marking, the bottom 10% get failed in every subject.
Other: ECE is a good branch to opt for. Yes, it is difficult than that of other branches, but it provides one with many opportunities to excel. The course is quite good and informative. I liked the support from seniors. They are happy to help you and are even friendly in nature. You will surely enjoy the Fest of the college, which is conducted every year in the month of November. The best part of the college is its clubs. If you work in them, you will surely learn a lot from it. Most of the clubs are amazing and working wonderfully. Yes, they have some clashes together, but still have great potential. If you are planning to come to PEC, then Chandigarh on its own has a great atmosphere as well as surroundings.

Joined because of placements. PEC Chandigarh even beats many top NITs in placements.
Placements: Placements were one of the main reasons I took admission to this college. Almost 60–65% of students are placed in electrical engineering, and the average package is INR 15.6 LPA this year; the highest is INR 84 LPA domestic. All the famous or dream companies come every year. This year, around 350 students out of 700 got PPO, and 149 students got PPO. Siemens, Texas, is the most popular company recruiter in my stream.
Infrastructure: In my course or in any other course, the infrastructure is not that good. They have Wi-Fi and projectors, but they are not well maintained. In the hostel room, they provide one bed, one table, one chair, and one almirah. The first semester of my time, they converted or adjusted single rooms into double rooms because they had a shortage of rooms. Mess food is decent, and sports, medical, and table tennis games are also there.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, but according to my perspective, they do not have much teaching experience. I didn't get anything from what they said or taught in the lecture, but all students have different learning capabilities. Getting a job is not enough or relevant; you have to prepare yourself for getting a job. Exams are moderately tough to get decent marks; I got 8.74 CG in the first semester by studying at the last moment and studying nothing during the semester. Pass percentage is relevant because this is a CG system.
Other: I chose this course because of placements and a little bit of interest in exploring electrical components. I want more relevance in the course to get industry-ready students. As you know, it's a 100-plus-year-old campus, so it has a very strong alumni network. If you name any company or any post, PEC students are there. The fest name here is PECFEST, which is pretty awesome. Scholarships are given to SC/ST students who qualify for half-fee waivers.

The college is great if you lie in this rank range.
Placements: The placements in circuit branches are on par with many of the IITs and NITs; however, the non-circuit branches are another story altogether, with the exception of aeronautical engineering; the rest all are good but not great (but still much better than the rest of the competition at this rank range).
Infrastructure: Hostels are pretty shitty, rest all facilities are great and work smoothly, the library however is not 24x7, but it does stay open till late during exams of any sort. We have a wide variety of books, a market inside the college for easy access consisting of restaurants, banks, a post office, and stationary shops.
Faculty: The profs are mostly PhDs from acclaimed universities, mostly IITs and NITs. The course curriculum is very relevant. We even have robotics as a subject in our 1st year (mechatronics). The midsems are not that difficult, but endsems are surely difficult.

Students also asked

Q:   Can I get PEC Chandigarh with 85 percentile?

A:

Yes, applicants have a good possibility of being admitted to Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh (PEC) if their percentile is at least 85. Candidates who show competitive performance and have a percentile between 80 and 85 are strong contenders for admission to PEC's prestigious programmes. However, a number of other variables, including the quantity of applications received, the particular course sought, and the admission standards established by the university, can affect the results of admission.

Q:   Can we get direct admission in PEC Chandigarh?

A:

For PEC Chandigarh BTech admission is based on a candidate's GATE Main rank and for MTech, the University accepts admission through GATE scores. Moreover, PhD admission is conducted on the basis of a written test and Personal Interview (PI).

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
