- Entrance TestEligible candidates need to appear for SRMJEEE (PG) conducted by the SRM University. Candidates with valid score in GATE/TANCET need not to appear for SRMJEEE (PG). International applicants are exempted from taking the All India Entrance Examination conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology.
- CounsellingAdmission is through counselling based on the rank obtained in SRMJEEE. Vacant seats will be filled directly by the institute on the basis of valid score in GATE/ TANCET. International students will get direct admission based on the marks obtained in graduation.

Average placements, good infrastructure, average faculty.
Placements: There were no placements for security field this year. Only Symantec will come and recruit 1 or 2 students. All major IT companies will come but there are no specific placements for M.tech. Also, salary will be the same for both B.Tech and Master of Technology. There is very good placement for B.Tech when considered with M.Tech. All IT companies recruit students with good coding skills and most bulk placement recruit for only B.Tech.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good but the thing is you have to walk for everything. The canteen is on the ground floor. You can get everything cheap and is also very good in taste. But you have to walk a certain distance to taste different variety of food. Hostel fees is Rs. 1 lakh per year and they will increase that for every financial year. The hostel is quite good and you need to block hostel online at www.srmuniv.ac.in to get hostel facilities.
Faculty: Teaching is not that good. Being an M.Tech student, you should have a keen interest towards your field of study. Only then is it appreciable to do masters in that field. The teachers are not much experienced but some of them are helpful in clearing doubts.
