JoSAA releases the NIT cutoff scores in the form of opening and closing ranks. Candidates seeking admission into 31 NITs, have to appear in JoSAA counselling without which their candidature will stand cancelled. Secondly, shortlisted candidates must participate in JoSAA counselling process for seat allotment at the reporting institute for document verification and payment of fees. Candidates are called as per the JEE Main 2023 All India Rank (AIR) and availability of seats.

Also, Candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent with minimum of 75 percent marks by the AIU or Intermediate or 2-year Pre-University exam conducted by a recognized Board/ University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject. Candidate who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or those who are appearing in Class 12/equivalent examination in 2023, are also eligible to appear.
