NITK dissolves every student.
Placements: The placements of chemical students are very average. The highest package was around 30 LPA. The average package lies somewhere between 12-14 LPA. The percentage of placements is around 60%. Very few students get internships in the chemical engineering department.
Infrastructure: The chemical department has a newly constructed building with all basic resources. The department has good facilities with classrooms featuring elevated sitting arrangements. The professors in the chemical department are very hardworking and dedicated to their job.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and friendly. They support each and every student in their education. The curriculum of chemical engineering is very relevant to the industry and makes students industry-ready. Students also try to get jobs in IT companies.

My chemistry with NITK in the Chemical Department.
Placements: There are only 57 students in the Chemical Engineering branch of NITK. So most of the students get placed. The percentage of placements is good enough. In the last year, i.e., 2023, the percentage of placements was 95%. The highest package was around 30 LPA. The average package was 12 LPAs. The top recruiters were ExxonMobil, Reliance Industries, MRPL and Deloitte.
Infrastructure: Previously, the department of chemical engineering did not have so many facilities. Two years ago, they built a new departmental building that is full of everything. There is good-speed Wi-Fi connection, well-equipped labs, big classrooms with projector, speakers, screens, etc.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful. They have sound knowledge. Since there are not so many students in the chemical branch, they pay individual attention to each and every student. The course curriculum is relevant to preparing a student for the core field of the chemical branch.
Other: There are two annual fests for NITK. One incident (a cultural fest) happens in the month of March. The other one is Engineer (Technical Fest), which happens in the month of October. There are some scholarships from the institute side as well as from outside organizations.

NITK, the 4 years of the dream rollercoaster ride.
Placements: Nitk comes under tier-1 institutions in engineering discipline so placements and internships scenario is of top class. Students who are completing their 6th semester of b.Tech are eligible for placements. Talking about placement and internship scenario of 2022, all circuital branches i. E. , cs it, ec, and ee have 100% placements, and core branches like chemical, metallurgy, and mining, leaving 2-3 students, rest are well placed, mechanical despite having a batch strength of 160+ more than 90% placed, coming to civil as per the current market scenario it still boasts with placement percentage of 85%. Coming to internships, almost every one of the circuital branches gets internships, but that of core branches suffers a bit but almost 70-80% get internships on-campus because software and management consulting companies visiting the campus are more in number than core companies. Talking specifically about chemical branch the placements record has been around 96-100% consistently for the past 5 years. For batch of 2023, almost 35+ placed till now most of them grabbing placements by the end of their third year, with an average ctc of 15 lpa, the highest package is of 32 lpa, and the lowest being 8.1 lpa, most of them around 60% offered with management consulting roles like business analyst, business consultant etc. , 20% getting into cores and 20% into software. Top recruiting companies for chemical branch are exxonmobil, wells fargo, bpcl.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure really stands out justifying it's nirf ranking. Classrooms for first year are quite good, there are all facilities available, well maintained, neat and clean. Starting from second year, the classrooms become highly equipped and well-furnished giving world-class experience. Labs of first year are well-equipped but very few apparatus may not work well but doable. Three libraries are there, one exclusively issuing books, other got all the facilities, last one is modern world-class e-library. Hostel facilities are quite decent. There are 8 blocks including pg block and 3 mega towers for boys and 2 for girls and 1 international hostel. Mega-towers have the best facilities like single room, ac etc. And has it's own centralised gym and mess facilities but are available only to third and fourth year. A new hostel has newly built completed especially for accommodating the whole first years, probably get will opened for batch of 2027. Each hostel has enough facilities starting from providing central laundry service, wi-fi, lan to common room stuffs. Washrooms and rooms are cleaned by an assigned staff once a week. Block 3 has non-veg mess which serves decent. 5-6 grand dinners are there in a semester and mess menu get changed according to hostel committee and hostelers' opinion. For first years, for starting month the block timing is 8 pm and it keeps on extending depending on behaviour and activity of hostelers by the end of first semester. Apart from these, campus has nescafe, amul parlour and a lot of stalls for surviving a day if someone misses mess food. There are night canteen for 3rd block, 7th block and girls block.
Faculty: Except for some faculty members, rest are highly knowledgeable and well-experienced but sometimes classes by ph.D. Scholars are quite awkward. One have to be extremely attentive in classes of some courses to understand the lecture or hasta la vista. Course structures are quite good and the curriculum is at par with other national and international technical institutes. For the first year, in a semester, there will be two cycles, physics and chemistry and will be divided into sections like from section 1-6 basically cores will have physics and 7-14 (circuital) will have chemistry and on the next semester complimentary. Starting from first semester, a lot of soft skill courses will be there which prepare a student for the big stage. Difficulty of semester exams depends on the departments by whom the course is offered. Grading is relative, but some departments may set a cutoff marks to get certain grade.
Other: I chose chemical engineering at nitk because of considering a lot of factors, i had interest in physics and chemistry the brand value of the institute, the beautiful campus with beach, and obviously overall placements stats. From the very first year itself, the institute provides plenty of opportunities, even from academic perspective you are trained to develop soft skills. In first year, there is one faculty advisory assigned to every sections who will look after everything starting from academics to extra-curricular. Institute also focuses on extra-curricular ensuring an engineer grows in all spheres. A total of 10 credits one has to earn from extracurriculars which will be added towards fulfillment of the degree by being club member and organizing different institute-level programmes, participating in inter-nits, representing institute at international/national level conferences and competitions. There are 25-28 clubs and each has its own events going on throughout a year. There are a lot of sports tournaments, cultural competitions organized by phoenix committee like freshers cup (inter-section sports competition), floodlight tournament, crescendo (inter-department sports cultural competitions) etc. Coming to the campus, it's like 300 acres which is quite good considering spaces are used wisely. It basically has eastern and western parts as the nh-66 passes through the campus, no worries there are well-developed underpasses and overbridges to commute faster and there are no instances of accidents. The west part basically has circuital department posh buildings with brilliant architecture and guest houses as beach comes on that part while the eastern has the main building, core departments, hostels, banks, co-operatives other facilities. The fee structure of the institute, mess, and hostel combined is pretty decent and scholarships are regularly released every semester from organizations and institute. A lot of the large-scale fests take place in the institute every year like udaan (a beach festival), bharat darshan (representing state cultures), engineer (the tech-fest), incident (the annual fest) etc. On weekends, there must be something going on in auditorium or lecture hall complex or in pavillion. E-cell's e-summit, tedx nitk surathkal theme events, utkrisht bharat, music club events, etc. , etc. Brings a lot of once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Sorry, but this score is not enough for getting into NIT. But you can get into some good private campus.NIT, Suratkal is very famous and students with a good rank below 3000 will get admitted each and every year.

Getting a seat in chemical engineering at the end of round 7 is possibly feasible, provided there is a vacancy and cases of branch change by existing candidates.
