JEE Advanced 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur will release the JEE Advanced 2025 application form on April 23. The JEE Advanced registration 2025 will be open until May 2 and the registered candidates can pay the application fee by May 5. JEE Advanced 2025 conducting body - IIT Kanpur has released the complete schedule of the exam and related events along with the JEE Advanced 2025 information brochure. JEE Advanced exam will be held on May 18, 2025. Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 noon and paper 2 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Candidates must attempt both papers to be eligible for admission to the IITs. The registered candidates can download the JEE Advanced 2025 admit card from May 11 to May 18. The JEE Advanced 2025 exam will be held in CBT mode across centres across 222 cities in India and 2 cities abroad.
The JEE Advanced 2025 eligibility criteria have been rolled back to twice in two consecutive years from thrice in three consecutive years. IIT Kanpur officially launched the official website of JEE Advanced 2025, jeeadv.ac.in and has updated the JEE Advanced 2025 eligibility criteria and JEE Advanced 2025 syllabus. The syllabus remains the same as last year with no changes.
The Indian candidates who will qualify for the JEE Main 2025 cutoff for JEE Advanced 2025 can register for the exam. The Top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Main 2025 will be allowed to participate in JEE Advanced 2025. On the other hand, foreign nationals do not need to qualify JEE Main and can directly register for the IIT JEE Advanced exam. However, candidates of all nationalities must have passed class 12 boards in 2024 or 2025 to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2025. JEE Advanced is the second qualifying exam for IIT admissions, the first being JEE Main. JEE Advanced exam has two papers, each containing three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Candidates must refer to the JEE Advanced syllabus 2025 and JEE Advanced previous year question papers to prepare for the exam.

What is New in JEE Advanced 2025?
IIT Kanpur has announced one major change in JEE Advanced 2025:
- The JEE Advanced 2025 eligibility criteria include an exception this year. Normally, candidates can attempt JEE Advanced twice, but those who appeared in 2023 aren't eligible. However, following a Supreme Court ruling on January 10, candidates who appeared in 2023 and dropped out of their course between November 5 and 18, 2024, are now eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2025.

What is JEE Advanced?
JEE Advanced is the second-stage test (after JEE Main) for aspiring IIT students. Remember, only the top 2.5 lakh performers in JEE Main get to challenge JEE Advanced. It's your doorway to the prestigious IITs and is considered one of the toughest exams in the world. The exam is conducted annually by one of the 7 IITs or IISc Bangalore in CBT mode, under the aegis of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).

JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria
#4. Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination
Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2024 or 2025 are eligible for JEE Advanced 2025.
Candidates who appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, irrespective of the combination of subjects attempted/offered.
#5. Earlier admission at IITs
A candidate should NOT have been admitted to an IIT irrespective of whether or not the candidate continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting “online” / at a “reporting centre” in the past.
Change in JEE Advanced eligibility: OCI/PIO card holders who have secured OCI/PIO card before 04.03.2021, are considered as Indian nationals for seat allocation to IITs.

JEE Advanced 2025 Application Form
Registration: 16 Apr '25 - 7 May '25
Only those candidates who secure JEE Main 2025 rank among the top 2.5 lakh candidates are eligible to fill the JEE Advanced application form. The application process is online and the form is available only on the official website.
- As the first step, every student needs to register through the official website by providing their JEE Main 2025 roll number, password, and security pin.
- As the second step, students have to enter various personal details like their name, parents’ name, communication details, address details etc. in the specific columns of the JEE Advanced 2025 application form. The details entered in the application form must be accurate as the incorrect details may lead to the cancellation of candidature at later stages.
- Students must also enter their choices of exam centres while filling out the application form.
- Apart from the details, students will also need to upload scanned images of the documents needed.
- After submitting all the details, students must take multiple printouts of the final application form for future requirements

Candidates will have to upload scanned documents in the online form. The required documents are given below:
- Class X certificate if the date of birth is mentioned in it or the birth certificate.
- Class XII (or equivalent examination) certificate
- Class XII (or equivalent examination) certificate
- If the candidate’s name is not the same as in the Class X certificate, a gazette notification showing the change of name.
- Caste certificates as needed.
List of Documents needed by candidates who dropped out between November 5 and November 18, 2024
- A letter duly stamped and signed, from the Head of their Institution (Dean/Principal/Director), as per the format given in the updated JEE Advanced 2025 information brochure.
- An affidavit duly stamped and attested by a notary public, on a nonjudicial stamp paper of INR 10 as per the format given in the updated JEE Advanced 2025 information brochure. The affidavit should be of the candidate if she/he is more than 18 years of age. If the candidate is less than 18 years of age, the affidavit should be given by her/his parent or legal guardian.
- Withdrawal letter/notification issued to the candidate from her/his college/university/institute.
