JEE Advanced 2025 Latest News and Updates

Q:   What is a safe score for JEE Advanced to get an IIT?

A:

It is a very relatable thing. A good score in JEE Advanced will depend on various factors one of them being the cutoff. Q:   How should I prepare for JEE Advanced?

A:
1. Get your basics sorted out. If you "complete" a topic once, check yourself by deriving, from scratch, from the basics, the formula. If you can't do the above without resisting the urge to look at the text book, start over.Do read NCERT properly. They do it from the basics. 2. Know what the syllabus is. Not necessary to stick to the portion, look further if it interests you. But no, do not get into the mathematics of everything. It will confuse you, and from theexampoint of you, it would counter point 1. 3. Keep a cool head. Sort yourself out, and concentrate only on your question or theory.

Q:   How to score well in JEE Advanced?

A:

Here are the top 7 strategies that any students may follow to clear JEE Advanced exam with ease: 1. Solve As Many Numerical Problems as Possible JEE Advanced exam focuses on testing the candidates comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability. The questions asked in the three subjects of Physics Chemistry and Mathematics are of advanced level and focus on the application of the concepts rather than the concepts themselves. 2. Keep Track of Strengths and Weaknesses For scoring perfect marks, candidates must be prepared perfectly as well. This means keeping an eye on their strengths and weaknesses and trying to avoid making the same mistake twice. Errors occur when one is unsure of himself/herself, and uncertainty is the last thing any candidate would want while attempting questions in the exam. 3. Set Daily Targets Setting daily targets serves two purposes. One, the entire syllabus is divided into short-term goals that need to be achieved daily, and two, the focus of the students remains unwavering until the long-term goal is achieved. 4. Develop a Subject-wise Study Plan Different students have varied levels of command over different subjects. Someone may be good at Physics and Mathematics and need more effort in Chemistry or the other way round. 5. Keep a Positive Outlook JEE Advanced is not the end of the world, but that does not mean it should be taken lightly. Moreover, if a candidate appears for JEE Advanced then it is natural that they have qualified the JEE Main exam after beating Lacs of competitors. This means that a positive mindset can help achieve the steepest of goals under any circumstance. Hence, students should always keep a positive outlook for the best results. 6. Refer to Previous Years Question Papers 7. Attempt Mock Tests. Hope it helps.

Q:   How to manage time to prepare for JEE Advanced?

A:
Don't plan the day. Instead plan a week. Decide your weekly goals. And make sure you study 60hours every week. Make a to do list for the things you need to complete in a week. Divide it into categories like : previous year questions, assignments, book reading, test etc. Now fix number of hours to each category. Never plan for more than 40hours. Keep 20hours as flexible. Your brain will want to plan for all 60 hours. But don't do it. Only plan work for 40hours. If you study in this way every week till JEE Advanced exam. You will secure good rank. Your priority tasks should be 1. Solving previous year 2. Giving weekly tests 3. Solving DPP sheets Give almost equal time to all 3 subjects. Don't change subject after fixed number of hours. Instead change subject after you complete specific task of that subject.

Q:   I have qualified in JEE Advanced/JEE Main. Is it mandatory to register in JoSAA to get a seat in IITs, NITs, IIITs and Other-GFTIs

A:

Yes, if you have qualified for JEE Advanced 2025 or JEE Main 2025 and want to secure admission to the participating institutions (IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs), it is mandatory to register for JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling. JoSAA is responsible for the centralised counselling and seat allocation process for all the participating institutes based on the rank obtained by the candidates in JEE Advanced 2025 or JEE Main 2025. The entire admission process, including the allocation of seats, acceptance of seats, and reporting to the allotted institute, is done through JoSAA.

JEE Advanced Conducting IITs

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced is conducted by one of the seven zonal Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), namely IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati, on a round-robin basis. The IITs are arranged in a rational order to conduct the exam, and the rotation is usually from the top to the bottom of the list, starting again at the top of the list, and so on. The exam is guided by the Joint Admission Board (JAB). This rotation system is essentially a way to ensure fair distribution of exam conduction responsibility among the seven zonal IITs.

Q:   What is the minimum score or rank required in JEE Advanced to get into a good IIT?

A:

The definition of godd IIT can be relatable. The candidates who wish to get admisison to the first generation of the IITs like IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee must have a high score of 250+ marks out of 360 marks. However, this is not applicable for all courses offered by these IITs. Every course and IIT has different demand and seat ratio which effects the admission of the cabdidates. Hence it is very difficult to say what will be the minimum score or rank required in JEE Advanced to get into a good IIT.

Q:   What are the easy and scoring topics in all the three subjects for JEE Advanced?

A:

The perception of which subject is the "easiest" in the JEE Advanced exam varies widely among students, depending on their individual strengths and interests. Here are some general observations:

  • Chemistry: Chemistry is frequently seen as more manageable, especially for those who are good at memorization and grasping chemical reactions. Physical Chemistry, in particular, tends to be approachable for those comfortable with Mathematics.
  • Mathematics: Many students find Mathematics more straightforward if they have a solid grasp of concepts and ample practice. Topics like Coordinate Geometry and Algebra often feel more procedural, making them easier for some.
  • Physics: For students who excel at understanding concepts and applying them, Physics can be perceived as easier. Mechanics often has an intuitive aspect, while topics like Electromagnetism can be more challenging.

In short, the easiest subject depends on the individual student. It's crucial to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses in each subject to identify which may be the most approachable for you. A well-rounded preparation strategy across all three subjects is typically the best way to succeed in JEE Advanced.

There are no separate supernumerary seats or sub-category for females in the foreign national supernumerary seats.
