Worth it in terms of fee structure and return on investment.
Placements: 70% of students were placed; the highest package was 16 Lacs, the average was 6 Lacs, and the lowest package was 4 Lacs. Top recruiting companies are Tata Steel, Vedanta, TCS, Yamaha, Hitachi, Deloitte, and the Aditya Birla group. 40% of students got internships in Tata, Siemens, and through Women of Mental Health. Top roles provided are engineering trainee.
Infrastructure: You are going to get a proper aesthetic and vintage vibe campus full of greenery and old architecture. In terms of hygiene, the classroom and departments aren't in that good condition. You will find a combo of modern hostels and old-school hostels in this college, with good space in rooms and hostels along with a gym. Mess food is okay with a lot of variety, and canteen food is affordable and tasty. Medical facilities are available in the locality, and an ambulance is also available for medical emergencies. For games and sports, you aren't going to get any equipment; you need to bring it yourself.
Faculty: Professors are good, qualified, and helpful; their teaching way is also good. The provided course is relevant to some extent but not completely relevant. Semester exams aren't that difficult; you can easily score above-average marks if you study seriously for a few days.
Other: My branch is Mechanical Engineering. It is one of the oldest and reputed branches in terms of placements. Internships are also available in this branch. I'm having the option to explore Core as well as coding. Don't expect any kind of cool fest like other colleges. Recently, just a platinum jubilee celebration was organised.

Everything students need to know about BIT Sindri, Dhanbad.
Placements: The placement percentage of the 2023-24 batch is 82%, and for mechanical it was 92%. The highest salary package offered on-campus is 16 LPA. The average salary package offered is 7.57 LPA. Around 10% of students got an average salary package of 13 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Samsung, Tata Steel, Tata Power, Vedanta Resources, Aditya Birla Group, Adani Group, etc. For the 2024 batch, an impressive number of internships are recorded. Around 75% of students got internships in companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Tata Steel, etc. There are various job profile roles being offered ranging from manager to developer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college looks old at first. Our labs, classrooms, and the library are well-equipped. There is a Wi-Fi facility in the library. There are many infrastructure projects with state-of-the-art facilities under construction ranging from new hostels, auditoriums, sports complexes, and student activity centers. Hostels are spacious enough and students will get a study table, chair, and a bed. The mess food is way better than I expected. There is a cafeteria on the campus. For health issues, there is a medical clinic on campus. There are two huge sports grounds. All types of sports are available in our college.
Faculty: Our professors are very helpful. They always help students to upskill themselves. They are highly knowledgeable and qualified from universities like IITs and NITs. The NEP is a new education policy. It is introduced by the government of India. It is being followed here from the 2023-24 session. It is a highly industry-relevant and value-oriented course. For that reason, students can grab internships and placements easily. The examination system that is being followed here is like there are two mid-semester examinations and one end-semester examination. They are called internal and external exams. It is set by JUT. Examinations are not very difficult to pass if students study before. The pass percentage is around 80%.
Other: I chose this course because I found this to be the most valuable among the other options available. The pros of this course would be real-life problem-solving, practicality, etc. The thing I would like to have included in this course is to link modern technology in a better way. Events are being organised by various clubs and societies and from engineering departments regularly. The crowd is decent enough here to upscale yourself. The connectivity is good from both road and railways. There are various scholarships provided by the college itself based on merit and financial status. There are several different clubs and societies available to students for their extracurricular activities and growth. The main highlight of this college is the return on investment students get. Students will be getting a minimum of 250% ROI.

BIT should open 30% seats for All India Students.
Placements: Almost 80-90% are placed. The highest package in Mechanical was 16 LPA, and the average was 9 LPA. Tata Motors, Vedanta, JSW, and Shyam Metallic are top recruiters. Almost 100% got internships in different companies like TATA, Reliance, etc. Manager, HR, Senior Manager, and JE are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: We have a separate department for the Mechanical Engineering branch. It consists of well-equipped labs, and classrooms. The building is a little bit old-fashioned. Labs are overall good. We have a central library for academic books. I have been allotted Hostel-22. We have a common room for playing carrom and also a volleyball court in the hostel campus. For medical issues, a doctor is available behind the lecture hall.
Faculty: Yes, all teachers are well qualified (Ph.D. holders) and have a lot of experience in the teaching field. They guide us in academics and non-academic things also. The curriculum that BIT Sindri follows is of Jharkhand University of Technology, which I think is too old to follow. But I think after NEP implementation, everything will be changed.
Other: I chose this because the fees you have to pay here are too less than other colleges. I think the college should allow 30% students from all India to improve the college condition. No fest, no freshers, no enjoyment events like IITs, NITs. The amount of 80k which you pay yearly as total fests including hostel are reduced to 30k after the scholarship if you get a 50k scholarship, so it is worth it.

This college has the best return on investment.
Placements: More than 90% of the students are placed in my course. The highest package is 14 lakhs per annum, offered by Vedanta, while the lowest is 4 lakhs by TCS. Top recruiting companies include Vedanta, Tata Steel, JSW, ABJ, and many more. More than 50% of students secure internships, with the top role being a manager.
Infrastructure: The departments are good and have different workshops regarding various topics. Classrooms are good, and we have a dedicated library for our course. Sports and games facilities are not that sufficient. New infrastructure is being developed, and the hostel infrastructure is good.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and helpful. They are always ready to assist. Exams are not that difficult; if you focus on your studies, you will easily score good grades. The course is relevant to the industry, so when you join a company, you will have enough knowledge to work there.
Other: There are many scholarship options available. The connection between alumni is excellent, allowing students to contact seniors if needed.

Really great college when it comes to return on investment factor.
Placements: About 88 percent of the registered students got the placement offer in mechanical engineering department. The highest package offered was 18 LPA, offered by Vedanta to 7 students, followed by TATA Steel Limited, which recruited 10 students at a package of 15.6 LPA. Other companies which offered decent packages were JSW with 7 LPA, Adani with 7 to 8 LPA and others with packages more than 5 LPA. The minimum package was offered by Shyam Metallics at 3LPA and other companies like TCE, TCS, etc. The average package was of 7.7 LPA during the placement season. Top roles offered to the students were associate manager, trainee head, etc. depending on the company recruiting them. 7 students got internship and PPO from TATA Steel, where the stipend offered was 80,000 for two months.
Infrastructure: The classes are equipped with smart boards that are functioning and are in good condition, with good lighting conditions. Water filters are also provided, but the washrooms in the lecture hall complex are not at all in good condition. Wi-Fi is provided in the library, and students are required to install WiFi in their hostels on their own. Labs have machines that can be functional, but most machines present in labs are not accurate and proper in functioning. Physics, Chemistry, and Material Testing labs are good, but fluid and thermolabs are not that good as the machines are not running or faculty. Workshops are in good condition, and students will definitely learn when they visit those workshops. We have Smith, Carpenter, Welding, Fitting, Foundry, Machines, and other workshops as well. Hostel rooms are above average and have sufficient space for students, whether it's a single room or combined. The best part about hostels is that every hostel has a small field to play volleyball, short-pitch cricket, badminton, and other sports as well. We spend hours playing sports there. Food quality depends on the mess allotted to the hostel; some hostels have good food quality, whereas others have extremely bad food quality. But it can be improved if students would form a committee and tell the restaurant owners about the food quality. The worst part about hostels is the presence of stay dogs, which are dangerous for the students and also hygienic as they have really foul smells. Some of the dogs are also unhealthy, which makes it risky for the students. The canteen has good ambience and food quality, with a decent amount of available food. We have medical shops and dispensaries around college, some of which are open for 24 hours. Sports tournaments such as badminton, volleyball, football, and cricket are held frequently, which can be both interbranch and intrabranch. We have 2 grounds on the campus, and both the grounds are average because of low maintenance.
Faculty: Teachers here are well qualified and knowledgeable, some of them even holding a Ph.D. degree. They are helpful and are really experienced in their fields and other related fields also. They teach as per curriculum and also give industrial knowledge as well. Talking about course curriculum, very few colleges have relevant curriculum in India, so there is no point in reviewing course curriculum. The syllabus is outdated for most of the colleges and does not meet industry standards (here I am talking about course curriculum as prescribed across the whole country and majority of the colleges). One thing that is appreciable is that college administration provides us with skill courses partnered with reputed firms like Siemens like CAD, mechatronics, 3D printing, etc., which are industry-ready and relevant. Semester exams are difficult, and the passing percentage is 21 marks out of 70 in the theory paper and 35 marks overall out of 100, including the internal exams and viva, which are equally difficult as well.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering in BIT because of it's good package and a really outstanding alumni network across big core companies at really high positions. The syllabus and curriculum must be updated, and students must go on industrial tours to gain knowledge and experience in their respective domains. Events and festivals are held, but those events are not that big and are limited to college only. Students participate in different events held at different colleges. Connectivity is really good because of the local railway station near the college, which makes it easier for the students to commute.
