Very good college and I love it.
Placements: The college has a 95% placement rate, with the highest package being 33 LPA and an average of 5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, and many other IT sector firms visit for recruitment. Many students secure internships in IT companies. Overall, the college is good, the teachers are supportive, and the course structure is similar to CSE. Everything is fine here.
Infrastructure: HIT offers hostel facilities for students, with many coming from other states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Ranchi, Delhi, and West Bengal. There are a total of 14 hostels available for both girls and boys. The hostel facilities are very good, and free Wi-Fi is provided, but the food quality could be improved.
Faculty: The college is autonomous, so the exam questions are set by our college teachers. The question pattern is generally easy, and class tests and assignments are straightforward, but the semester exams are a bit more challenging than the class tests. The teachers discuss questions in class, and these often appear in both class tests and semester exams.
Other: HIT is a dream college for many students because the campus is the largest campus.

Really nice campus and infrastructure.
Placements: 70 percent of students were placed in our course. 45 Lacs is the highest, 3 Lacs was the lowest, and 7 Lacs per annum is the average package that's offered in our college. TCS, Tech Mahindra, Commvault, Cognizant, and IBM are the companies that actively recruit IT graduates. During the summer internship placements 2024, a total of 413 students from my course took internships. Chief Information Security Officer, Security Architect, and Malware Analyst are the top roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: There are many facilities and infrastructure, such as Wi-Fi with a 5G high-speed network, many classrooms with AC, classrooms full of smartboards, and a library with many books available in our course. The hostel provides all facilities for sleeping, bedding, and mattresses for study tables and chairs, along with free Wi-Fi. For security, wardens are available, and for health, an ambulance is available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful; most of the teachers have done M.Tech, and only a few teachers have done Ph.D. They have deep knowledge about the subject, but the teaching quality is average. The course curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both Applied Science and Computer Science. The program outcomes include communication, problem analysis, etc. The semester is not difficult because students cover all syllabus before 2 weeks of the semester exam.
Other: The reason behind choosing this course is a deep interest in computer knowledge, and I started coding from 12th class onwards. Every year, ACM and Riviera are cultural fests conducted.

Our college infrastructure and hostel were pretty good. ROI and placements are average.
Placements: About 91% of students were placed in the 2023-2024 batch. Packages offered are 10 LPA, 3 LPA, and 5.75 LPA. Infosys, Capgemini, and Tata Consultancy Services were top recruiting companies in this course. Almost 5-7% through off-campus. Consultancy jobs, software engineers, and marketing.
Infrastructure: The Institute is an enclave campus of 50 acres of land. Separate hostel facilities are available for boys (11) and girls (03). It has more than 850 computers, a restaurant, an open-air cafeteria, a departmental store, a pharmacy, a bank, a gym, etc. Hostel food quality is good.
Faculty: Yes, teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is also good. You do not have to fully depend on this college. You have also to put your extra efforts beyond this course. Semester exams are average. The passing percentage is about 30-35%.

HIT is a very good college, but chances must be taken.
Placements: Overall, the college is very good and decent. Placements are very good. Approximately 95% of students got placed. The highest package offered is 23 Lacs, while the lowest package offered is 1.5 Lacs. The average package offered is between 4-5 Lacs. Wipro, TCS, and Accenture are the top companies for my course. Almost 90% of students get internships.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are very good. Halida Information Technology (HIT) classrooms are old. Hostel mess and canteen food are up to the mark. The Wi-Fi connection is good, but sometimes it works slow, especially around 6-7 o'clock. Infrastructure such as Wi-Fi, central library, classrooms, sports facilities, hostels, and medical facilities are provided to each student. Every department has its own departmental library. Overall, the infrastructure of the college is good.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, supportive, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. Semester exams are so hard in this college. The pass percentage is above 85%. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry-ready if they work harder.
Other: There are only 180 seats in information technology. This course primarily focuses on subjects such as database, software, and networking. The IT course is a program of study in software development, software testing, web design, computer networking, computer systems, databases, programming, and software engineering.

One of the top most Private colleges.
Placements: I am currently pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Haldia Institute of Technology, Haldia. I will be graduating from the college in the year of 2026. HIT is known to hold a record for providing placements to over 92% of the total eligible students. In 2024, a company offered a package of 33 LPA to a student, one of the highest on-campus placement offers. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Tech Mahindra, Amazon, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, Adani Wilmar, Capgemini, PwC, HCL, Haldia Petrochemicals, Infosys, etc. The highest package offered was 44 LPA. The median package for Undergraduate students is about 5 LPA and the lowest package was 3.32 LPA. 90 to 95% of the students get internships showcasing the institute’s dedication in providing practical and industry-based knowledge.
Infrastructure: There are separate hostels for both boys and girls. There are a total of 11 boys hostels and 4 girls hostels for both undergraduate and post-graduate students. All the hostels are equipped with Wi-Fi. Facilities like a badminton court and a wide field are provided in each hostel. 3 to 1 sick rooms are present on every floor of these hostels. The quality of food is quite moderate. The mess routine is quite flexible and the helpers there are also very kind and attend to the requests we have. Regular arrangements of sports and cultural functions are made by the sports and cultural committees respectively. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly and a standard of hygiene is also maintained.
Faculty: The teachers were extremely student-friendly and helpful. They attended to our doubts whenever we called them. They are always available for our queries. All of our professors are highly educated and have secured their degrees from the top most reputed institutes of India like the NITs and IITs. They never fails to get our concepts as clear as crystals. The course is very relevant and makes us ready for the industries. The guidance from our mentors is surely of great help. The semester exams are of very moderate level being neither too easy nor too difficult. The question sets are always of a standard quality.
Other: Haldia Institute of Technology is one of the best private colleges in West Bengal. Placements in this college are very successful, especially for the Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Information Technology courses. Fests like Prayukti (Technical Fest), Riviera (Cultural Fest), and ACM (Annual Cultural Fest) happen in April, May and June. Reputed artists are called for these fests to judge the various events taking place.
