Q:   Which has better placement at Heritage Institute of Technology, B.Tech in CSE or B.Tech in ECE?

A:

When it comes to placements at Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT), both B.Tech in CSE and B.Tech in ECE have their own strengths and advantages, making it difficult to definitively say which one has "better" placements. The choice can depend on your individual interests, skills, and career aspirations.

B.Tech in CSE:

  • Higher Average Package: Generally speaking,  the average package for CSE graduates at HIT tends to be higher than that for ECE graduates. Recent reports suggest an average package of around INR 6-7 LPA for CSE,  compared to INR 5-6 LPA for ECE.
  • More Top Recruiters: IT giants like Infosys,  Wipro,  TCS,  and Google tend to actively recruit CSE graduates at HIT,  offering opportunities in software development,  cloud computing,  data analytics,  and other high-demand fields.
  • Wide Variety of Roles: With the booming IT sector,  CSE graduates have access to a diverse range of career paths beyond traditional software development,  including cybersecurity,  AI/ML,  and blockchain technology.

B.Tech in ECE:

  • Core Engineering Focus: If you enjoy the hands-on aspects of electronics and hardware,  ECE offers a more core engineering curriculum compared to CSE's software focus.
  • Growing Demand: With advancements in automation and smart devices,  the demand for skilled ECE graduates is on the rise. This opens doors to exciting opportunities in robotics,  telecommunications,  VLSI design,  and embedded systems.
  • Specialist Roles: Beyond IT companies,  leading engineering firms like Tata Advanced Systems and other electronics manufacturers actively recruit ECE graduates,  offering lucrative careers in specific technology domains.

Additional factors to consider:

  • Your Interest: Ultimately,  choosing between CSE and ECE should be based on your genuine interest and aptitude in either field. You'll be dedicating years to the chosen field,  so passion is crucial.
  • Future Career Goals: Do you envision yourself coding and building software solutions in the IT world,  or are you drawn to the more physical aspects of designing and developing electronic hardware?  Aligning your goals with the strengths of each programme is key.
  • Research Industry Trends: Stay updated on current and future trends in both IT and Electronics sectors. This can help you understand the potential growth and job opportunities in each field.

Conclusion:

Neither CSE nor ECE is inherently "better" in terms of placements at HIT. Both offer promising career prospects with unique advantages. Evaluating your personal interests, desired career path, and industry trends will help you make the most informed decision. Consider attending college open houses and speaking to alumni from both programs to gain deeper insights before choosing your B.Tech path at HIT.

I would recommend joining this college if someone wants to join a private college.
Placements: College tops this list when it comes to top private colleges in Kolkata. Civil engineering course is fine. Placements are good here. The lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. I think that is a good start when a private college is providing placements. Most colleges do not even have placements.
Infrastructure: College tops this list when it comes to top private colleges in Kolkata. When it comes to infrastructure, it is good. They don't provide hostel for boys but they provide hostel facilities for girls.
Faculty: College tops this list when it comes to top private colleges in Kolkata. Faculty members are a bit biased but if students have maintained a relatively good image in front of them like that of a sincere student.

Absolutely satisfied because of facilities and supportive faculty .
Placements: More than 80 percent of students get placed every year . The highest package offered last year was 30 lakh per annum, and the lowest was approximately 3 lakh per annum. The average package was about 5 lakhs per annum . Mainly, top recruiters are ultratech. Approximately 70 to 80 percent of students get internships in companies like Century Ply , Ultratech, etc. Leading roles offered are like senior civil engineer and structural engineering.
Infrastructure: The overall facilities inside the campus are very good. Big and spacious classrooms are there. Proper equipment is there in the labs , a well fully aur conditioned library with high-speed Wi-Fi is there for the students, which is available from 9 a.m. to 8 pm everyday except Sunday . Mainly, there is no boys’ hostel inside the campus; it is outside the campus, which is well furnished and clean. But there is a girls’ hostel inside the hostel, which is really very nice. Proper , good-quality food is provided. 24x7 medical facilities are there. A big ground is there .
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, well qualified, and knowledgeable. There is no problem regarding that. Teachers are very sincere, helpful, and supportive. Yes, there is a site visit curriculum which is really very helpful and important for the experience of in-field work. And though it makes students ready for industry, which helps them for their good placement. Teachers are very helpful there, but the semester exams have no mercy on any student. The papers are good enough, which will be passed only on knowledge and with proper preparation. The pass percentage was approximately 33 percent.
Other: I personally chose civil engineering because I have an interest in making different types and unique designs of buildings. Events are often organised, but there is no fest in this college for many years. I hope so we will soon be able to see a fest in our college.

Placements: In my course approx 50 percent student get placed because of their knowledge and skills. Although highest package is approx 9ac per annum and lowest is 3lac per annum and average 5-6 lac per annum. Top recruiter are TCS, L&T etc After placement they works as senior executive, site engineer etc
Infrastructure: The facility and faculties available for my courses is good as they are helpful and they will help not only for passing semester exam but crack the high profile jobs.there is wifi installed in every floor.labs will taken by 2-3 teachers to help everyone. There is no boys hostel in my college but hostel for girls is available in campus.having two canteens differ by size
Faculty: Teachers are helpful , qualified and knowledgeable..and if we see their teaching quality then you can imagine from the PPT the teacher taught is also enough for cracking government exams for this particular course. Semester exam is not dificult..it's level is easy to moderate..you have to score 40 percent to pass the semester

A smile comes on the face after seeing the campus.
Placements: 80 percent of the students are placed in my course. Infosys and Campaign are the companies. Manager and CEO of the company. The highest package offered was 14 lacs per annum, the lowest package offered was 5 lacs per annum, and the average package offered is 7 lacs per annum. 90 percent of the students got internships from my course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good, and the hostels are very neat and clean. Wi-Fi is also available on campus. And there is a fully AC library with a capacity of 300 students. Classrooms are also very good and big. Food is also very good; the canteen also serves very good food; there is a separate building for medical purposes; and there is an ambulance for students in case of emergency. Many sports are played on campus, and there is a separate field for different games.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable, and they are very helpful. The course is relevant, and they teach us very nicely. Another is a separate class for interview practice so that students can get ready for the interview. The exam is a little tough, although 95 percent of the students pass.
Other: I chose this college because it is in the heart of Kolkata and it has a very good campus and good placements. Placements should be better. Many events, fashion shows, and sports happened.

If you are not getting IIT, then of course join HIT.
Placements: There are numerous students who got placed and recruited by many companies like Cognizant, TCS, etc. Approximately 70 percent of students got placed in any of the recruiting companies; the highest package, according to my knowledge, is 55 LPA and the average package is approximately 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: There is no such hostel for boys; hostels are available only for girls, which will not allow boys to enter the college campus after 8 p.m. According to my knowledge, I can assure you that the medical facilities are good for the girls hostel and the college canteen is good but for some reason it is reconstructing.
Faculty: The faculty of this college is very good and excellent, which will allow students to gain knowledge from the teacher easily. The course curriculum is well structured, which will help students score good marks in the graduation year. Semester examination are easy if you are attending college regularly.

Students also asked

Q:   Can I get admission in Heritage Institute of Technology without WBJEE?

A:

Yes, Admission to Heritage Institute of Technology is possible without WBJEE exam. These seats can be secured through either JEE Main exam or management quota. However, 80 percent of the total seats are reserved for WBJEE, 20 percent are reserved for management quota and JEE Main. Thumbs Up IconUpvote Thumbs Down Icon

Q:   Can I join Heritage Institute of Technology directly?

A:

Whether you can directly join Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) depends on what you mean by "directly." Here are the different ways of joining HIT:

Regular Admissions:

  • No direct admissions: Unfortunately,  HIT doesn't offer direct admissions for any B.Tech program. You need to go through the regular admission process,  which involves:
    • Qualifying in either WBJEE or JEE Main exams.
    • Meeting the minimum cut-off score for your desired program.
    • Participating in the counselling process and securing a seat based on your rank and programme choices.

Other Admission Options:

  • Lateral Entry: If you've completed a Diploma in engineering,  you can apply for lateral entry to the second year of a B.Tech programme at HIT. Admission is based on a separate entrance exam conducted by WBJEE.
  • Management Quota: Some seats in each B.Tech programme are reserved under the Management Quota. While not "direct" in the strict sense,  this might offer an alternative route for admission if you meet the eligibility criteria and pay the required fees.

Important Points:

  • The Management Quota seats are limited and admission isn't guaranteed. Merit and other criteria set by the institute determine selection.
  • Regardless of the quota you apply under,  fulfilling the program's eligibility criteria (e.g.,  minimum percentage in qualifying exams) remains mandatory.

Recommendations:

  • Check the official HIT website or contact the admissions office for the latest information on B.Tech admission procedures and specific eligibility requirements for different options.
  • Focus on preparing for WBJEE or JEE Main if aiming for regular admission through merit.
  • Explore the Management Quota option only if the regular admission process doesn't work out and ensure you meet the set criteria.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   What is the expected JEE Main cutoff 2024?

A:

NIT Manipur JEE Main cutoff 2024 has been released for admission to the BTech courses. During the Round 1 cutoff, the closing rank for CSE was 25886 for the General category students under the AII India Quota. Among OBC candidates, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering stood at 8750.
