IITs with best buildings, the latest IITs.
Placements: Mine is B. Tech Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. It is a 4-year course containing Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. There are around 50 members in our batch. Many seniors got internship offers, and they were placed in different industries, and a few started their own labs.
Infrastructure: The buildings and infrastructure are quite amazing. As ours is a new generation IIT, everything was built recently, and everything is amazing. It feels good to experience things here, though there may be a little discomfort with Wi-Fi, but it’s okay. Everything provided is of fine quality.
Faculty: The curriculum is super good. Exams are not so tough, but they are okay. Paper standards are set by the professors who teach us, and attempting those papers will be thrilling and exciting. Yes, of course, our course curriculum is relevant to our daily lives and makes us ready for the industry.
Other: Of course, IITs are super cool, and fests don’t happen often, but they are amazing. Sports and cultural competitions will also be held.

A new IIT but completely worth it for ranks over 12k.
Placements: BTech in the chemical and biochemical engineering branch was introduced in the year 2022 and hence the first batch will sit for the placements in the year 2026. So as of now there is no data available for the placements of this particular branch , while in the last year the highest package for the CS branch was 52 LPA offered by Cred. A few of the top recruiters are Bharat Petroleum, MathWorks , Cred, Infosys, TCS, Microsoft and many more.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms and the hostels are well equipped with high-speed wifi and each hostel room has 1 LAN port and accommodates 4 UG students , while the PG students get dual occupancy rooms. There is a drinking water facility in the hostel courtyard, and the bathrooms are equipped with geysers for hot water baths. Cleaning of the hostel rooms and the washrooms is done once every 3 days to maintain hygiene amongst the hostels. We have 2–8 floor blocks and 1 mess block as of now, and 1 canteen operational from 1 pm to 3 am, while we are expecting one more canteen in a month to reduce traffic on the former one. Coming to the sports facility, we have a world-class indoor facility for badminton, TT and squash with 2 gyms and a swimming pool as well. However, the swimming pool is yet to be renovated and will be functional from the next academic year. The hostels are also equipped with TT tables and foosball boards in the common room of each floor , sadly for the outdoor games like cricket , football and volleyball. We still have to visit our temporary campus, which is 3 km from the permanent campus, for the cricket and football grounds, but the intercampus transit is made easy by arranging buses from the main campus to the temporary campus at regular intervals. For health-related issues, we have a wellness center and doctors from the nearest hospital keep visiting according to the timetable given here. In the mess, we are served breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner, out of which breakfast is the most loved among students as the quality of lunch and dinner is low to average . There is a library where we can issue books or you can sit there and spend time studying as well. It's called the KRDC (knowledge resource and data center).
Faculty: Yes, we have extremely qualified teachers here. As IIT Dharwad is being mentored by IIT Bombay, we have several teachers who have been associated with the old IITs in the past and now are a part of IIT Dharwad for its overall development. The course curriculum for chemical engineering is slightly deviating from the core chemical engineering, where we are being taught courses like DSA in the 2nd semester and many courses from the mechanical branch. Semester exams are moderate to hard.
Other: As it's a new IIT, it's pretty vague to expect feasts and other extracurricular events like other top IITs. Yes, we do have festivals, Parsec being the annual tech fest and Esummit being the platform for budding entrepreneurs to interact with industry experts, and many more. The sports club here is pretty active despite the barrier of intercampus transit, while other cultural clubs will be noticed as less active when you compare them to the sports club. As it's a new IIT, it will take some time for the non-sports club to prove themselves. The campus has a 66-acre reserve forest; you will pretty often find peacocks and snakes in the campus coming to the campus crowd. This place is evenly distributed by people of all the states, but slightly more contribution from the people of Andhra and Telangana.

Good infrastructure but come mentally prepared.
Placements: There are 12 students from the chemical engineering branch. The highest package is 54 lakhs in the CS branch. Very few students get internships in any branch. As ours is the third batch, since this is a new IIT, we still don't know about chemical engineering placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good, but hostel food is not. The classrooms and library are really nice. But, there are frequent power cuts. The Wi-Fi offers fast internet. There is a wellness center if you are sick, a sports complex to play games and a gym. Canteen food is affordable and tasty.
Faculty: Semester exams are difficult. Students have to prepare from the start of the semester itself. Yes, the chemical engineering branch is really helpful in the core side. Almost all the professors are highly qualified, but a few don't have proper ability to teach.
Other: There will be 2 or 3 DJ nights in each semester and many teach meetups. There will be an inter-IIT sports once a year.

A review of IIT Dharwad - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: The college has a dedicated placement cell to assist students in securing offers from their preferred companies. The placement cell consistently organizes contests to enhance students' skills. It actively brings in various companies for campus recruitment. Provides assistance with internships. On-campus placement is not 100%, with an approximate rate of 80%. Limited presence of high-paying or career-oriented companies.
Infrastructure: Newly constructed buildings with new and excellent furniture. Well-equipped labs that ensure students face no difficulties in regular lab activities. There are good roads within the campus, making it convenient for students to ride bicycles. Well-equipped classes with monitors and project facilities for an easy student life and effective teaching. More than half of the campus is still under construction. Unused classrooms constitute half of the total. Lack of permanent outdoor sports facilities. The college operates between two separate campuses (old and new), causing inconvenience for students.
Faculty: Young faculty members, facilitating easy interaction and a friendly environment. Faculty members with strong academic backgrounds, many from top universities worldwide, including IIT Bombay,. Some professors, due to their young age, may have less teaching experience when starting their careers at our college.

Great things take time, and IIT Dharwad will shine.
Placements: Chemical, biochemical, civil, maths, and computing are the branches introduced in 2022. There is no data present for placements. But branches like CS, mechanical, and electrical have average placements. The average salary package offered is 15 LPA. The percentage of students who got placed from those branches is around 70-80%.
Infrastructure: As the college is in the developing phase, it is not the appropriate time to conclude about infrastructure, but till now the buildings are class, big, and enough to meet the requirements of an IIT. All the basic facilities are available to the students and staff members. We have a mess, a gymkhana, 2 hostels, one wellness center, etc. There is a lack of sports grounds, so we used it from the Walmi campus.
Faculty: The course curriculum is good like the other IITs. Teachers are highly qualified. Their teaching quality is very good. There are 2 short exams like quizzes along with mid-semester and end-semester. The course curriculum mainly focused on subjects like physics, chemistry maths, and biology in the first year, and then onwards to the specific industry.
Other: Campus life is overall good. Due to the lack of the infrastructure, it is incomplete.
